  1. Only a short vid, but it would appear Rick's winter training has been paying off, big moves with more ease than ever! Youtube vid
  2. Apparently it did once or twice. There were some incidents involving spikes in spokes I believe! haha And the first time he tried it his front went and he face-planted the grass! The line is actually slightly harder than it looks too, but I'll leave the video to show what I mean .
  3. Some great pictures there! Love some of the angles, top stuff!!
  4. Vimeo version is just finishing converting! Sorry, had some issues the first time. Should be Here any minute now!
  5. Thought I'd share this with you all, some super smooth riding and nice and chilled editing. Well worth taking a break from Friday afternoon work to have a watch! It's the first in a mini-series of videos that Simon will be releasing. All feature some great riding by Thomas at various locations (including natural training, World Cup competition footage and general street/rocks riding). Head to Trialtech.co.uk for the download link (170mb by the way, working on a slightly smaller version so I'll update the topic when that's available). MP4 format, plays in VLC version 0.9.4 and some versions of windows media. Vimeo version is HERE! A few screenshots... Ta, Dave
  6. Hey everyone, Just a quick post to let you know that the new Trialtech website is now online! Until now product information and pictures have only been available via Trialtech dealers, and rider information/media has filtered through forums. The new Trialtech site aims to bring all of this together in to one place, with detailed product information and photos, International rider information and media, as well as general news updates about all things Trialtech! Thanks for taking a look, feedback and thoughts are always welcome! Happy Riding, Dave@Trialtech

    Moved

Thread re-located to: Here! Thanks, Dave@Trialtech
  8. Really sorry to hear this! Always sad to lose a good guy in an unlucky accident, a true character has tragically been taken away . RIP mate, my thoughts and sympathy go out to your close friends and family.
  9. Few more piccies for you.... Only the first prototypes, so nothing is set in stone and there's already a couple of tweaks planned for production models. Geo is 'standard' 26" geometry of 410mm length, 45mm rake, so will work perfectly with any frame intended for use with '26"' geometry forks.
  10. As Bigman kindly mentioned, white bars are on the cards, just a delay in finishing at the factory. They're set to arrive in the UK the week starting the 28th . Also, forks will be arriving at the same time . They'll be available in disc only (+20 disc mount position for 26") or reverse Magura mount only. Anodised matt black with a laser etched Trialtech logo down the non-disc side leg. A few people will have seen them on either Waddy's bike or Thomas Oehler's, the production versions will look pretty much identical, just a small tweak to the steerer design at the bottom. Ta, Dave
  11. Sweet video. Loved all the techy lines and the smooth controlled style, but it's easy to over-look just how big some of the up and gaps etc were!! I feel a UK ride weekend coming on! hehe

    Janson

RIP Janson. I only got to meet you in person once, at Nass, but you were always helpful and kind on MSN. A great loss for trials, a guy who helped trials cross language and nationality boundaries just by being a great guy. RIP.
  13. If the weather's good I'll be there with any luck!
  14. Depending on how you run your bars (how far forward they are angled), sounds like you need a 10mm longer stem or so to compensate for you being used to bars with more rise (that translates to reach if you tilt them forward)? I'm guessing it'll be the 'reach' issue rather than the actual shape of the bars you're having funny feeling with?
  15. Just got a mail back from Rick: "Yeah after the post I jump a gap from 2.90/3m on a rock.. so din't get wet " Only a small gap then! lol
  16. Just got an email through from Rick. He's been doing his best to train 'as normal', he's got an injured finger from the Worlds (6 stitches in his little finger), but it doesn't seem to be holding him back much! hehe I still need to get to the bottom of where he was going off that post in the sea! haha. I'll let you know when he replies back. Ta, Dave

    Beau

I'm feeling pretty sick. I didn't know Beau that well, but we had a few good chats together over the phone when I was working at Tarty Bikes. Met him on the DJ ride the other week and he was a sound guy, not a bad word to say about anyone. R.I.P. mate, hope the riding up there is good.
  18. Just got a txt from Ben Savage and then just saw the results here!! Big congratulations to Ben for getting to the final and even managing to draw with Benito!! Awesome riding! Also congratulations to the new 26" World Champion, Gilles Coustellier! It's been a while coming a win for him of this magnitude, but it was only a matter of time .
  19. Ben Savage having the week of his life by the sounds of it! Fair play . Good luck for the finalS! That's bloody immense thinking about it, qualifying for TWO finals!
  20. Danny told me about this a while back, that's cool that Trials is helping promote cycling. Good work and well done to all involved! And is it me or has Danny learnt backflips rather quickly? lol
  21. Quite possibly, can't remember where Ali got it on. He was having a short stem phase, but he's seen the light now and got a Sport forged stem on (lighter too, and he cracked the front clamp on his Giant), he knows it makes sense! lol
  22. Unfortunately it's really hard for me to explain the geometry in relative terms, compared to what it's possible to relate to . Here's a piccy of Ali C's proto bars, just give you a better idea of their 'true' shape. Thanks! Oh I'm not finished yet, not by a long way!
  23. Haha, the graphics on the flat bars was done before I decided to shelve that graphic style. I quite like them, they are just a bit more 'complicated' and bold than the rest of the logos. Lesson learnt for future though .
  24. Along the same geometry lines to a Monty bar, but a few tweaks to it . Thanks for the compliment .
  25. It's been a while, so there's a ton of product news for you all! Maybe grab a cuppa, this might take a while! hehe As many of you will have seen, there has been a double-sided Sport UCI bashring available for a while now. After a few riders mentioned they would like to see a single sided version, and a few even cutting their Trialtech bashring in half (Kenny Belaey being one), thought it best to do something about it... 7075 aluminium, built in freewheel spacer, just 20g!! Next up, rims... There are Sport rims for both 20 and 26" wheel bikes in 4 different colours and 32h only. There is also a square or round hole option for the front rims (saving around 50g on a 26" rim!!). Twinned laser logos at both valve hole and join. Square hole front rims: Round holes, as above but traditional circle cut outs (same colours as above are available). Rear rims available in all the usual colour too, double wall, 47mm wide. Also available are Race rear rims, essentially the same as the Sport rims, but only in black and a more robust un-drilled style and a bargain price! And for the 24" riders out there, there's a 38mm double wall 24" rim available in drilled or un-drilled format, 32h black only. Keeping with the wheels theme going.... Front and rear Sport hubs (20 or 26" rear available, 20" with a slightly longer axle to ensure perfect fit and performance with chain tensioners/snail cams) are available in both stylish gloss white and classy but subtle matt black. All hubs feature the finest quality SKF sealed bearings, if you're not familiar with these, ask any engineer what bearings they recommend for quality and 9 times out of 10 they'll say SKF. As far as bearings go, there is hardly anything better! Steel serrated axle ends and double freewheel/sprocket threads for the rear hubs. The front hub also features a 'beefed up' 10mm disc mount. Keeping with hubs, there are also front and rear Race hubs available, open bearings and reliable steel axles. Black 32h only, dependable performance at a bargain price. Steering time… SL carbon headset spacers in both 5 amd 10mm options. The Sport range comes in with a pair of gorgeous 3D forged stems for both 20 and 26” bikes. 150 x 35 for 20” bikes and 120 x 17 for 26” bikes. Stunning looks and awesome performance at some of the lowest weights around (218g for 20” and 155g for 26”). Handlebars come along with two models, firstly the Race 7075 flat bar. 29” width and super strong 7075 grade aluminium, a great dependable ‘traditional’ trials bar, available in anodized black only. And the much anticipated Sport riser bar. Tested and used by Stan Shaw, Ali C and Sam ‘Waddy’ Waddington, these bars have proven a great hit with anyone who has tried them. 7075 material, 29” width, 310g, arguably the best all round trials bar available? We’d like to think so. Available in black or silver anodized finish, with gloss white powdercoat versions available shortly. Pedals are covered with two options. There’s Race caged pedals in all silver or classy all black finish. A dependable and popular style at a great price. Then there are the Sport magnesium platform pedals. Once again a dependable and popular design in three great colours: Classy matt black, stylish gloss white and attention-grabbing fluro green. Staying with the controls area, giving you something to screw your pedals in to: Sport forged cranks. Available in various lengths and bottom bracket fittings, with a choice of black or silver finish for 175mm cranks. Great value and dependable threaded cranks. Also available are Sport rim tapes (black or white), foam grips (ask Ali or Stan at Tarty Bikes which grips they recommend ), grip stops, threaded sprockets now also available in 15 and 17t. Thanks for taking the time to read all this, hopefully there has been something of interest for you! Many more products in the pipeline, so I look forward to bringing you news of even more new products in the not too distant future!
