  1. In terms of bare mechanics the ringle (assuming its the ABBAH) is similar to the Pro II interms of number of engagment points and pawls. It wouldnt be a horrible hub for some trials but its mighty heavy. The engagment system isnt quite as sturdy as the Pro II either.
  2. Only 6 months really. I couldnt do that stuff until at least a year in.

I dont know what you mean about commenting on his sidehops. The guy sidehops higher than i can, you b*****d. No sweet vid man, i love the heavy music too!!
  4. I think that you could make that a good half pound lighter by cutting that stupid fin on the back off. I hate there frames, their hidious.
  5. For the pad alignment, from what i can see, you need to adjust those little halfcircle washer things so that the pads sit flush with the rims. Its hard to see without a pic though. Having an out of dish wheel makes adjusting vee brakes a bitch though.
  6. Yeah man that was sweet. A girl friend who like to watch you ride, will film you, and edit it. Dude throw in a set of steak knives and you'd have people lining up around the block for one of those lol. Nice riding though, qualities not too bad for youtube.
  7. WOW!! You guys are pretty lucky to have a sweet indoor place like that to ride. I am setting one up now but i wont be ready till next season. Why is TRA such a monster lol. Cheers and good riding, Ian
  8. I like riding in the late evening, like around 10-11PM if i am riding by myself or others. For a ride with one or two others guys i like going out really early. I hate getting up but i always ride better lol.
  9. I've tried the simtra a couple times. Its really nice. The frame is super stiff and burly. The rear disc mount is raised so you can run an 8 inch disc with a 6 inch adapter. Personally i think that its a little short and the bb is a little low but thats just me. Hey James Barton ripped simtra for 4 years and Jeff Anderson is sick so they can be bad. HAHA www.trialsstars.com/videos If you can find one cheap then go for it for sure man. Good Luck, Ian
  10. 07 Czar 26 Nemesis Project Kona Stinky Yo man how does the Ivan ride, ive always wanted to try one. The 07 is completely redesigned.
  11. Yeah its hard to learn to hop higher you just have to get used to really ripping the bike with you when you jump. Though its kind of counter intuitive i find it helps to start a little farther from the wall so you can preload a little more.
  12. You mean like have 2 freewheels at the same time?? You could do it but it would be really stupid and you would not gain anything except maybe it would be louder. It would just mean that you have 2 times the possibility of having your freewheel explode. Another reason is that its hard to fined 2 different sized freewheels for the gearing you want. Like if you wanted 1:1 then you could run 2 18 tooths but thats too easy. I hope that what you mean. As an answer to the other question, i currently run a ffw set up but if i ever get a new drive train it will be with a freehub. I like the pro II alot and its worth the splurge.
  13. Being honesty, you can get more power out of the vee than out of the bb7. But in terms of what would be the better brake i think the bb7 or on of the juicy's would be good. They have more modulation, which is better for the front, and you really dont need a mega brake for the front anyways. BB7 ***
  14. I found that when i was pedal kicking but starting from and endo it was really hard. Try learning to go from balanced on 2 wheels then pedal kick to the rear. I should be easier. Also, this isnt the kind of thing that you practice for 3 days and you have. It took me about 4 months to learn to pedal kick and sometimes im still a little sketchy on the rear. Just keep at it and remember to keep your arms bent. Eventually you will get it and you wont understand why it was so hard lol.
  15. So the juicy 7 has alot of bit meaning it will stop the wheel really quickly. So should i go for the juicy or no??
  16. Umm, last time i checked the mono mini had a 20mm piston and the mono trials had a 30mm one. The mono trials is vastly superior to the mini in terms of power, modulation and feel. I find the that mono minis will feel really nice but they wont stop you very well. I have one on the front of my czar and evertime you gap to front it will slip like theres no tomorrow. The mono trial does feel a little spongy but you know the wheel is going to lock and not slide all over the place. I would never run a mono mini on the back and only on the front as a last resort. Cheers, Ian
  17. Yo nice man. Im so jealous of you UK guys who can ride. I cleared snow for 20 minutes to get 2 pics. and Hope you like them, their all i got for a couple of months.
  18. Ok so I'm in the market for a new front disc brake. A lot of people have suggested the bb7 but i have had several bad experiences with them in the past. I also prefer the feeling of a hydraulic brake. So I am trying to decide which brake is better. Price is not an object because i get big discounts on avid products so it is more and issue of weight, power modulation. The Juicys i have felt in the past feel really good but im not sure whether they have as much power or modulation as the code. And seeing as the code is only 50 grame heavier it seems like a better deal. Also, what is the difference between the Juicy 7 and the Juicy ultimate??. Thanks for the help guys, Ian
  19. Its essentially a really light bike with a long wheelbase and a mega high bb. Its plus 80 I think. I think that the bb is to high though, whenever you gap it feels like the bike want to roll backwards.
  20. I have had an eno for a long time and its been really nice to me. A friend of mine has the tryall and he swears that its the only one worth buying. But i think, for the price, the eno is the best on the market!!
  21. Yeah front freewheel is cool but if i got a new drivetrain i would go back to a freehub. Its more reliable
  22. YEAH MAN!! The vee brake re revolution haha. No man front vee is the best thing ever. The only reason im going front disc is that i snapped the brake bosses off my fork and dont want to get a new one. (Mines custom.) But as long as you dont mind grinding your front rim then vee have sweet power. I would say that my vees on the front worked almost as well as the bb7 i have now, albeit a bit less modulation.
  23. Yeah the pro 2 is seriously the best hub on the market today. The Chris King is also really nice, and u can get it in the colour you want but their very expensive. But dont get the deng freehubs, they are crap. It feels got for like 2 rides then they start skipping all the time and you have to tighten then like ten times a month. Pro II is the best option there is though, and people will forgive the non stylistic colour.
  24. the ck has ceramic bearings and races so they almost never wear out. My friend has had his for almost 5 years and its good as new. And a killer warranty
  25. Yeah i used to have a really hard time with tapping because i really didnt understand the point. Though you cant really "tap" anything under about 3 feet its possible to understand the principal of it on a curb. Do like you would do to pedal up a curb but wait until like the last possible nano second. You will feel the front wheel hit the curb and give you an upward boost. Now apply this to a wall a little under handlebar height. Do like you would do for a regular pedal up just lift the bars a little later and jump more up and less forward. With the tap, because you are much closer to the wall when you jump you must suck the bike up much more, even for smaller taps i find i tuck almost all the way. This is how i do it and it works well for me. I hope i havent made any grevious errors.
