  1. Hi guys, I am a product designer based in Cornwall and am currently looking into designing something to do with trials biking or biking in general, be it a component, app, protective gear etc. for a second year project. Currently, it is very broad and I am yet to narrow down my design area to something particular. I have a couple of ideas in my head from experience but it would be great to hear from you guys, I have created a short survey with a number of questions that will help me scope out some design opportunities. If you could take 10 minutes to fill it out it would really benefit my studies! Click below to fill it out! CLICK ME FOR SURVEY Cheers all!
  2. Was sorting some of the TGS section today, looks good!
  3. Note the use of a spacer to get it to work with a freewheel, that's 1.5mm alone.. Do others have this problem then, even when they're using the longest bottom bracket?
  4. Will 1mm really make all the difference?
  5. Righto, my setup is a KO KM1 frame, Trialtech Race 128mm ISIS bottom bracket, Try-All 108.9 freewheel, Echo 6061 Forged cranks and a Try-All Symetrik bashring, here's my problem.. When i set it all up with the bashup, I tighten the bolts and eventually the freewheel is so close to the frame it grinds against it and stiffens up completely, I take the bashring off and the setup works fine? Are there any thinner bashrings, also do not suggest a plate as somebody cut the tabs off... Or any other solutions? I'm puzzled!
  6. Ahh good point, really should have expanded on that.. Frame is a KO KM1, cranks are Echo Forged, BB length is 118 i think? Bash is try-all symetric, gearing ratio i believe is 18-12, try-all 108.9 freewheel, try all snail cams with cut notches. It must be skipping then, but there was nothing wrong with the freewheel before i put it on. The freewheel literally flexes left to right when i'm riding, could this be the BB maybe? And when i turn the cranks backwards instead of the freewheel clicking it actually engages and makes the wheel turn. All is old but the cranks, however all appears to be in good condition. Hope this clears it up slightly better, sorry!
  7. I tighten my chain, the freewheel makes the wheel go backwards when it shouldn't.. I cannot have the chain any less tight or the chain hits the chainstays. Once i do get it right it skips, i'm not sure if this is not just the bottom bracket though? Also when i pedal the freewheel moves left to right and vice versa? Do i require a new chain length and bottom bracket? Help!
  8. was thinking that might be the problem? Will give it a go.
  9. V!Z 72 i believe, do you think the fact that it is not done up fully that this could be causing the problem?
  10. i loosened the chain, but the freewheel was still very tight and something was stopping it from going freely, also, the freewheel moves slightly when it is turned? Help, please?
  11. fairly tight id say, but even when it's loose this happens? And its to short in length?
  12. Righto, i'm having major major problems with my drive and i'm not sure what the problem is, what i need to do etc etc. Basically, when i spin the wheel forward the freewheel moves and so do the pedals, if i hold the pedal and spin the wheel, the freewheel is really stiff and stops. If i turn the pedals backwards, it will freewheel for a while, then it will engage and the wheel will travel backwards?! Also, the bb is to small for the cranks, bash and freewheel, so i haven't been able to secure the pedal fully tight, but tight enough? Do i need a new freewheel, new bb, or is there a way to fix it? Cheers.
  13. Ohhh, i see! So there is no bolts or anything like that?
  14. How's that helping in any way with how to fit them?
  15. Non-driveside- Lefty loosy righty tighty. Driveside- Opposite.
  16. no worries mark i was aware of that lol, got it sorted now though, cheers muel lol. Bolted it all in, stuck an allen key through the little hole and hit it till it turned, job done.
  17. Oh, i see, shall go have another go now, cheers!
  18. Can i just ask how have you fitted them snail cams?! I'm puzzled on how to fit them!
  19. Right, went to remove the bb today and noticed that the little teeth that are used to actually connect the bb tool to the bb are quite stripped, so had a go at attempting to remove it, and because it seems so old it is both tough, and stripped. Any ideas to budge it?!
  20. absolute beast, amazing!
  21. Is he back from uni yet? And neinee, checked all that, freewheel is right up against the bb so going to have to order a longer bb, bad bad times. And a V!Z 72 click with a try all symmetric bash.
  22. thing is, I Havnt rode on the cranks atall and are newly fitted yet I can't get them off easily? I've purchased a bb spacer, and yes the bashing is fitted, does there need to be a spacer between bash and freewheel atall?
