  1. Lord. No. Never. Ever. But yeah man... good bail. Thats definately one to keep. I mean as far as "good bails" go, you were obviously hurt (and I hope you're better now and nailed that from the angle you wanted) but you're okay you know? No broken bones or profuse bleeding. Definately one to keep. Almost bragging rights if you ask me. An impressive bail along with other landed tricks really add some realness to a movie to music. No one goes out there and tries a move over and over to get it right without having bailed at least a few times. I don't know what I'm even trying to say now. I'm glad you're not hurt seriously. Good vid though, keep it. EDIT: Off topic. Yay, I got my third box under my name. More boxes is good! Really!
  2. Same here, I cant get the links to work. Can you please repost?
  3. Ugh... <embarassment> crappy tap > endo > catwalk drop </embarassment>

  5. +1 to the hottie I get happy when I'm riding when I do almost any move that feels effortless and just kinda meshes you know? When you do something and it all seems to fall into place

  8. Agreed, short distances or traveling in a largely populated city is bike domain

  10. I used to do a fair amount of trails, nothing special. No jumps or anything. I like the trails that are up and down and up and down. Stuff that makes it so you're going fast but doesnt force you to do any switchback turns rather it lets you use that momentum to get up the next little hill only to fire you back down another. I like trails when I don't have to think much and I can enjoy the scenary and just relax you know? I did a little bit of dirt jumping but it was never with a kicker and a landing, only the kicker. I've tried a couple with kickers and a landing but I was always kinda scared about over shooting the jump and bailing. When you know for sure you're landing flat it seems easier I guess. Again, I never did anything big. Maybe 4 feet at maximum. Not so much since I moved, but I used to ride every single day for transportation. From riding back and forth to work and getting munchies or meeting friends I logged a solid 90mins a day riding around. I liked riding around cause I can be a bit of a dick on my bike in terms of traffic laws. I can do things on that bike that no other vehical can do (at least get away with it afterwards) I'm just talkin hoping off a curb kinda in front of a car and j riding(yeah I'm coining that phrase) across the street. But in all seriousness, trials is the most fun. I can't wait until I'm good enough to call myself a trials rider.
  11. Yeah, I have to say dude, you have grammar and at least spell check abilities that meet and surpass about 5+ other new members (no one in specific) It really is nice to see someone form a sentence and more than one paragraph where needed.
  12. It shouldn't matter that I have a free wheel right?
  13. Right on, thanks guys! I can track stand on average for about 3 seconds. But I almost always lose balance in the direction I have the wheel turned regardless of which side it's turned to as well as what foot is forward. I'm gunna go give these a shot probably tomorrow. I just woke up and my lower back is killing me. It could have to do with the fact I went riding after being awake for about 30hrs, it could be that I spent 2 hours trying to back wheel but its probably cause I slept funny. Hahaha. Later boys. Ride on
  14. I have a couple, not trials related but biking related. I was working at a Walmart a couple years back and my buddy met me there so we could ride home together. I was on a Norco Wolverine and was super happy to get off shift. So I'm ripping through the parking lot, dodging between moving and parked cars. I looked back at my friend for a second and when I looked forward again there was a car right in front of me. I tried to dodge it but I clipped the front and the right handside light pretty hardcore. I scratched up the paint and kinda cracked the light cover a little. My friend laughed at me saying I shouldn't go so fast, I replied with "f*ck you, we gotta get outta here man!" When I first bought my Rocky Mountain I was going for a ride trying to learn how to dirt jump. There were these two younger guys (better riders though) hitting some jumps too. They were doing cool stuff like riding to the top of the jump, going only vertical and landing 180 on the rear wheel. Anyways, I went for a smaller jump and as I just started to take off I felt something hit my leg. I tried to sit down after the jump and poled my buttocks. My seat had fallen off. The guys and myself all laughed and they told me they didn't have their alan keys with them (nor did I) so I just finger tightened the seat back on. Later, on the ride home, I went up a curb and the seat snapped in half around the screws where it holds the stem to the seat. Again, pole into my buttocks. So yeah, thats why the sig says "completely stock minus the seat"
  15. Definately. It would help mroe if I could track stand. I really suck at it. Its weird, I ride left foot forward, so that means I'm supposed to turn the wheel to the right, correct? But it feels more comfortable to have the wheel turned to the side of my lead foot. Either way I cant balance well and I should dedicate a few sessions solely to that technique. Thanks again guys. Gimme a few days and I'll post a small vid. I can do much more now so I'll be able to make at least a string of "tricksy" moves
  16. Yeah I tried what you said and tried to actually jump. I think it has mostly to do with infamiliarity that influenced my failure. I also theorize about moves before and after I do them. Almost every time when I'm at home having a smoke because my bike is also on my balcony I think about riding. What could I have done different, what was right, what was wrong, etc etc
  17. Hey guys, just drop the piddly arguement here. This is a new members thread and he's saying hi. To OP: Welcome to the forum, if you can form your thoughts into somewhat coherent sentences and questions I'm sure you'll be validated soon. PS: Post some vids and pics damnit!
  18. I hear the T pro is a good starter bike, I think most users here will suggest it. I don't know first hand since I'm working with a dirt jump bike right now.
  19. Hey all. So I went out for a fairly lengthy ride today and I was trying to use a short pedal stroke to raise my front wheel and then lock the brakes to try to practice some rear wheel control. It didn't work. At all. Anyways. I thought I'd give the ol' endo and lean back technique and, after figuring out I needed to really hammer on my rear brakes, I got the front wheel up. I feel that now with some practice I'll be able to get the wheel higher and hold it there longer and such. My question has to do with correct hops. Maybe it's because I'm new but I feel like when I pull the front up that my whole body is extended (like I'm standing as though I didnt have a bike) and I wouldnt be able to jump to raise the rear wheel and do hops. Should I be trying to lift the front while retaining a somewhat crouched position? Should I be trying to jump more with my calves? I know its hard to help without seeing it so I'm probably gunna go out later today or in the recent future and record it so you guys can see what I'm doing right and wrong. Thanks in advance guys.
  20. Yes you do, it just may not be that bad... Best feeling so far... Getting a decent roll over. I did a curb (still getting the technique) the other day and I landed totally feeling trials like. My bike sailed smoothly underneath me and when I landed on the curb the bike was in front of me and I was all hangin my ass off the back of my bike. The feeling was cool. Also, there was a larger curb that had a somewhat steep incline right after the lip of it, I rolled up it and locked my brakes (I see the progressiveness of disk brakes now) but kinda lost balance. The point was I made it up and I couldnt do that a couple days ago. Good feeling. Worst moment so far was the shin dig I got a little over a month ago... still healing. Almost done but still healing.
  21. Nice vid. What the hell happened on the first one? Did your arms fold out on you?
  22. Thats what I'm talkin about Callum. You ride better than I do. I really need to buy a trials bike sometime. Keep it up dude.
  23. Whenever someone posts in a topic, it puts that topic to the top of the list for the next person(s) who browse the forum. So for instance, if you post a thread trying to sell your Mod bike and no one has replied, it may be at the bottom of the list of topics now. Most people only look at the first dozen or so topics I'd say, so posting "bump" or "ttt" (to the top) in a topic puts it back at the top of the list where more people are likely to look at it.
  24. Yeah, lets see some pics or vids Callum. post a thread asking for tips on the move you're trying right now or something... I still don't think I've seen any vids or pics of you riding EDIT: To the /thread comment... its a derivative of html really... to begin almost any command you write <html> insert entier website here </html> its programming code for these forums really
