  1. Try and get masel up to the trials park sometime in the near future .
  2. I like all of em, but the last one's my fave . Whoa, there aint much clearance between the tyre and booster!!
  3. The Mono Trial has larger pistons than the normal Mono and a different rotor design, supposedly for better cooling and is lighter.
  4. Looks good, but i prefered the Echo in all its yellowness, but thats my own opinion
  5. Gutted man, looked like it was a good little bike for yah, thie lynx should be awesome though!
  6. Looks awesome man proper old skool but with modern parts and geo. Yeahh, rear Vee would be good.
  7. Looks as if he's put on a bit of weight and now growing a bit of face moss too . The bike in the pic looks like its a 26" version of the fourplay, but it could just be my imagination...
  8. A couple of his bikes varied over the years. The blue one that he auctioned for charity had a DMR deevee rim up front and didnt he run a Hope mono trials brake at one point? Yeahh im interested in his rear brake set up, the last time i saw it he had a blue maggie, and what looked like a trialtech booster. The rim had quite a heavy grind and using some blue pads (what were they??) but also at one point he he had what looked like try-all croco browns. Also, to whom who said the brake was silent- it isnt! Its just the way Danny uses the brake because i was lucky to get a quick hop on his bike and the brake was really loud when i pedal kicked.
  9. Ive got some old M952 XTR's, the splines are in good contidion but the paint has worn away due to use and there are some minor chips, does anyone know where i'll be able to get paint for them if thats still possible? Its also got the original 5 bolt spider but i need a chainring as im going single ring up front on my Commy .
  10. This is quite similar to my V!Z yellow pads, i fitted them almost 2 weeks ago (no booster and on smooth rim) and as soon as they went on they were really loud and very bitey and had loads of lock. Since then ive only ridden the bike with these pads for about 4 days and now they've quietened down a fair bit but the bite had reduced as well, im confused- isnt it supposed to be the other way around or is this just what happens with these pads? Dan
  11. I dont recall seeing many maxxis tyres these days having the orange loop, is it still possible to get them?
  12. its brand new. I think ive got it set up good now, im just not sure if its properly square though, the wheel is free running in both directions (no drag) but there does not seem to be alot of bite, im using V!Z yellows and the drive side pad kinda looks as if it is wearing more than the non drive side or maybe its just me lol.
  13. helps when you're part-time staff
  14. Not for the pedals and the tensioner cos the standard ones were naff.
  15. My local bike shop upgraded the back brake, chain tensioner and pedals.
  16. Not much at all, everything is pretty much within the town centre, then theres the skatepark futher down the road. Yeah some decent stuff down by the river, if you're back down here sometime soon i'll show you about
  17. Couple more piccies.... Think I'm going to go for a British theme with this. Obviously the frame and most of the parts are from the UK, the Maggie and the Truvativ crankset are exceptions but so far the British components are as follows: Inspired pivotal seat DMR V8 pedals DMR Tensionseeker 2 Trialtech sticker A few upgrades to come, all British: Hope Mono trial front brake Inspired handlebars Trialtech drilled front rim on Hope Pro 2, still undecided on a rear rim but would obviously be laced to a Pro 2 trials hub.
  18. Yeah i would too- ive i had the money for one
  19. Aye cheers mate, yeah the tensioner will tension up the way just by changing the spring to underneath the body but either the arm is too long or just the way the chainstay comes down doesnt give enough room to do so. I might give 22:16 a go but i stil want enough speed so i think 22:15 would be best.
  20. Another thing ive noticed is that the bottom booster plate is slightly off to the non-drive side of the frame. Would this affect alignment of the brake much?
  21. Anyone? Ive had a play around with it today but struggling to get it set square, ive got a fear that the pads are running at a bit of an angle which would cause uneven wear. The pads tend to drag when spinning the wheel backwards but not forwards
  22. I believe its not far off the ET frames. Yep im running standard gearing atm, my LBS changed the chain and tensioner after the standard chain snapped due to it skipping. Im going to change to 22:15 soon, gearing is a bit hard for trialsy stuff and it still skips occasionaly but not as bad as what it was. Ohh and the seat clamp, well thats off my XC bike after I broke the original one lol :$
  23. After a very long wait, ive finally got my hands on an Effect. Only had it 3 weeks (although 2 of those weeks were spent in the LBS getting a new chain and tensioner sorted- not impressed by Raleigh's service to be honest but they ended up fitting parts they already had in the shop). Some pics i took yesterday in a break of the wet weather....
  24. Yep, they are in properly. Any pointers for setting the QR side?
