  1. Just having trouble getting it aligned properly, i.e. pads square and good bite.
  2. I have a HS33 on my Ashton Effect and after changing the pads i am struggling to get it set up properly. I am using it on vee mounts with the Evo2 adaptor kit, with Evo2 clamps (drive side is the QR clamp). Is it the same procedure of set up when using a normal 4 bolt? Ive been following the Magura manual on the website as well as the guide on Tarty's website. I can just get the non-drive side set up okay but its the drive side with the QR clamp that's a bit difficult. Would changing to normal clamps be useful to make setting up easier? Bit of a noob question but im fairly new to maggies after just using vees previously, but any help appreciated. Dan
  3. Firstly, i must compliment you on your bike choice and props for dual disc man. Secondly, editing was good, the last clip was remeniscent of a certain Danny Mac video lol. And lastly... wear your helmet! Dan
  4. Well.....so much fun! Could do with some few minor changes but ive got some goodies coming for it soon . Its a great bike for spinning about as well as the usual hoppy stuff. Yes, the gearing is a little bit high for some of the more trialsy moves, but its still low enough for some decent gaps and sidehops, plus its perfect for those moves that require a bit of speed anyway. Just a bit gutted about the chain snapping on the first proper ride, took it into my LBS last Monday and said they need to order a new chain and tensioner for it, which still havent arrived so ive been without a bike for a whole week now! Hopefully i'll have it back within the next few days so i get a good chance to take some more piccys.
  5. Yeahh i know, its the fact that the seatpost is a full length one like you would find on an XC bike, but dont worry im gonna chop it when i get an Inspired seat so it will be ultra low!
  6. Some random but very bad quality pics of me and Dave from a wee street sesh in Edinbugh last weekend. Decided to sample some of the capital's architechture before heading to Transgression, where my badly skipping chain decided to eventually snap but it was nice to get a good first impression of the Ashton. Davee Up to front Chillin... Hoppin up the steps Drop off Balance... bunnyhop Comments, ayee. Dan
  7. Really cool video, awsome location, probably the best backdrop for riding lol. More traditional trialsy moves and some natural from Mr Macaskill!!
  8. And thats exactly what im riding haha. It comes with a 13t sprocket but i changed it for a 14t because the chain was skipping. Would moving the tensioner to push 'up' on the chain give better wrap and prevent skipping?
  9. 22:14 for me, but i might try 22:15. Kinda off topic but, is it true you should run a double wheel tensioner for a rear sprocket less than 15t?
  10. Some good riding there . The bike looks awesome. So if more manufacturers were to include a TGS/comp style 24" bike, would that mean 24's could become eligible for comp use?
  11. Ha, that forestry commission office is just accross the road from my school . Looks like you guys had fun, the rig looked pretty cool.
  12. I really do agree with that, after watching Rowan i decided to go brakeless for a bit. It was certainly a new challenge and when i went back to brakes i was so much smoother, less set-up and recovery hops. Infact, ive decided to go back to brakeless for a while- its so fun! Oh, and the Echo looks awesome- so stealth.
  13. My worry now though is he might end up getting a bit cocky.
  14. Macaskill is going from strength to strength now. I first heard about him about 3 years ago when i went to watch the 7 Stanes display team, Danny was part of the team and that made me want to get into trials riding. I guess back then, he was only known in the trials community here in Britain, but now hes a global superstar, all because of one video . Just goes to show how quickly word gets around. Dan
  15. Ali, are you in this months MBUK? Theres a feature on a street ride in london with Martyn Ashton and his crew. They said they met up with Danny and Kenny Belaey but the picture of "Danny" doesnt look like him at all. Looks more like yourself to be honest, your wearing a white Fox lid yeah? And the bike certainly isnt Dannys, its blue and white with white Trialtech rims. Its kind of off topic but just thought id ask
  16. yep, have to agree with that. ive been running my 26" with just a rear vee until it gets sold, and its surprising how much fun you can have with only one brake. might try that stem on my 24" and im also looking for one of those tioga rims.
  17. Sounds really good, so what is the weight like compared to a Rhyno Lite and what sort of price are we talking? Anywhere in the UK that stocks them? BMX rim should be able to withstand a fair punishing lol.
  18. Im looking to get a 24" rear wheel built using a Pro2 trials rear hub but i am not sure what rim to go for. I mainly ride street and i will admit i am not the smoothest of riders! I have whittled my choice down to either the Sunrims Rhyno Lite or Alexrims DX32 (are they still being made in 24"). I may want to use a light grind when i change my pads. Anyone used either rim and what are advantages/disadvantages of both? Any help apprecaited. Dan
  19. At last!!!! should be worth the wait.
  20. Looks horrible imo. Echos look alot nicer with the rounder shape frame tubes. So same geo i take it seen as its Deng? GU version next???
  21. Why would you want to bleed any brake with water? Even if it is a HS brake. The disadvantages outweigh the advantages and you'll just make it less reliable.
  22. Oh good good, theres a lot of pretty decent bmx riders in my area that i ride with occasionally and i want to keep up with them.. but on a trials bike . I still want to be able to do trials moves though.
  23. How is the effect at spinney/bmx moves? Good for 180/360 bunnyhops and manuals? Im looking to get one when they are finally released (not far away i hope). And whats it like for more TGS style moves?
  24. swweeett!!! the BRG colour looks really clean and 'fresh'. It makes a change to all the usual black, white, silver bikes you see on here. What rims are you running?
  25. Not bad, you just need to learn how to lurch now, then you're well on your way to cracking trials
