  1. Don't they always just do that? Doing some dinky common maneuver, and they just peel off the front. I say peel because that was always what it felt like to me. They get spongy for a split second, and then you just watch in slow motion as the metal just tears away around the leg or crown weld. Happend to a pair of handlebars once while I was just starting a nose wheelie down a board that sloped from a 6 foot spool to the ground. They just peeled off at the stem clamp... barely missed my collar bone on my way to headbutting the ground 6 feet below. Hope you didn't hit the ground too hard when these broke.
  2. Oh my god! I remember that vid. I had no idea who he was, but it was his style that I tried to mimic for years. Fantastic older-school riding on a bike that reminds me of my own years past.... cut down Uni seats and 14" seatubes.
  3. I am surprised that after machining and drilling all the frame gussets and parts (even the headtube hole!) that they leave the rear dropouts and CS/SS gussets solid, especially all that blank thick alluminum on the disc dropout/frame end side. Did they have problems with failure allll the way back there? I figure it would crack at the headtube or the BB/CS joint long before a big thick dropout/frame end. ... If there is no worry, then there is still PLENTY of alluminum to take a drill and a grinder to on this frame... haha
  4. Yeah, that may be an American phrase/idiom, not sure. Genereally, to us yanks, it means "to ride it hard"
  5. Sorry, missed that. Thanks for the link.
  6. So who IS going? I live in Bavaria, so it is a 4 hour drive for me, and while I am an american, I would certainly like to hang out with some other english speaking-types... I'll bring a big case of kick ass rauchbier from Mahrs Brau or Schlenkerla in Bamberg...
  7. All the style of the modern fixie rider.... I have to admit though, I don't understand not wanting to ride it because it is too nice. That is like not wanting to have sex with a girl because she is too pretty. I am just the opposite. It's so nice and pretty, that I want to be the first person to DESTROY it.
  8. Also, The simtra is available.... And would anyone know of rides/competitions/ some sort of trails scene in bavaria or really anywhere in germany?
  9. I'm AJ, I'm an American living in Germany, and I have been riding trials since 13, (16 years ago) in the early days of the American NORBA nationals, and when Ot Pi was ruling the worlds in the BIU... I belonged to Observed trials.net, but since moving to Europe, I figured I should talk with you guys. I ride a Simtra ST-1 stock bike, but not really all that much recently since getting into cyclocross and touring.
