My TP frame had the exact same problem. The quick way would be to put a sheet of metal over that area but the other method I can think of is to get a rear sprocket that has centered teeths if you haven't got one already). The chain line should still be fine though with centered teeth sprockets. To me it seems to be a design fault.
Sorry to hijack your thread, but I also want to know if those Echo TR 4 bolt clamps are really worth £25? Standard 4 bolt clamps with cylinder washers are just really annoying to setup square.
