I'd rather this forum be a bit quieter than you posting a new topic about your brakes every other day.
-
You're that one that keeps f**king whining about brakes and keep posting topics that's been discussed again and again and general things you can f**king Google yourself. Now I'm whining about you. Dickhead.

How were those tyres? Barely any tread on them. Thinking of getting those when my try-all ones wear down.

Top. The washer it came with, see the damage in the clamp? Middle. What I've currently done. Although the hole in the washer is a little bit bigger, the bolt head is still bigger. Have to go down a size ideally, M5 washers coming in the post. Bottom. What I'm was talking about, it being completely flat instead and using a washer to stop the bolt head causing the damage in the top.
-
I have but it still happens because the size of the washer is the same as the bolt head.

Nah. But I would use it too. I remember now though. Saw a similar thing on a mates bike which reminded me. Instead of maggie clamps where the top halves have that sunken area where the bolt head sits, why not make that area completely flat so you can use a washer that's larger in diameter than the bolt head to stop the clamps from getting crushed? I'm sure everyone has had a pair of clamps where the bolt head have crushed the clamps at some point, and when you try to adjust its position it just falls back into the indented bit. To avoid this problem on my TR clamps, I file down a stainless steel washer that sits in the sunken area to stop my clamps from getting crushed by the bolt head. I did this years ago on a pair of clamps, I even managed to sell them on as new Plus if both halves were the same, you don't have to buy a whole new pair when the top half is ruined. Unless manufacturers want to be a dick and not sell them separately. You probably won't have to buy a new pair if you used that washer, I know I won't be needing a new pair for a long time. Anyone know what I'm on about?

Possible retard here. Reverse threaded crank bolt retaining rings.
weirdoku replied to weirdoku's topic in Trials Chat
I swear from just googling self extracting crank bolts I can see the 99.99999999% of the retaining rings don't have reverse threads... Waiting for a message back from the seller and see what he says. -
Okay. Before I send these back and make myself seem like a tit I need to confirm it's not me that's wrong (or right, depends). Got these self extracting crank bolts off eBay. They come with 2 bolts, 2 washers and 2 retaining rings. I put the Echo TR cranks on, screwed the bolts and washers in. Perfect. But then when it came to the retaining rings they wouldn't go in, had a closer look and noticed the threads are reversed. I assumed the rings screw in (clockwise) the same as my crank extractor. Looked at my crank extractor tool and the threads match the crank threads. When I thought about it, it makes sense that the retaining ring threads should be reversed so that when you unscrew the crank bolts the ring doesn't unscrew with it. But I have NEVER come across crank arms with reverse threads, Google says cranks with reverse extraction threads exists though. So what the heck have I got? Or am I retarded and ordered something that wasn't right for my cranks??

Are you f**king kidding me? Just the other week in your thread you were moaning about how your brake lever clamps are marking your shiny new handle bars, now you prefer beat up parts? Make up your mind.

I thought of something earlier today, but I now can't remember. I might have seen it already done on someones bike but also can't remember where I saw it... Will post back when ever I remember.

f**k what they think, you have valuables in there and people can get in freely. I would never consider moving into a shared house if my room didn't have a lock!

Long intros are silly. Skip to 1:11 for riding. I like the song though.

Lower BB mod/stock frames in the +55 range would be nice. I swear the one thing that doesn't make my mod feel right is the high BB.

I don't get backpacking/travelling either, or holidays in general. You travel hundreds/thousands of miles to a foreign place to sit on a beach, party, touch sedated tigers, look at some mountains, walk through some trees, f**k some foreign dudes/girls. Then you go home and back to your daily job. Holidays/backpacking/travelling in general doesn't appeal to me. I haven't been anywhere for about 5 years? Don't plan on anytime soon either. -
Can you not just get a longer grub screw? I don't get why it needs a larger diameter one?? Enlighten me!
