laws of leverage, it means that to provide the same drag force as a smaller rotor will require less force (assuming same braking system, rotor design and pads). It's pure and simple physics. If you already have the power to lock the wheels easily a bigger rotor isn't necessary. Unless like punk said, you're in search of more control/modulation, which is easier to achieve with bigger rotors. Also big discs cool faster and this reduces brake fade and other unwanted effects of heavy braking.

Don't paint it, the components look sick with that paint/sticker job, the rims/forks etc looks proper subtle and classy

Pretty good that. In a ghetto sort of way. Raw footage was ok, couldn't help thinking the camera positioning could be edited out but it does give you time to talk/shows continuity so not really a problem. A full set of these would be great, either in the wiki or in NMC, if you go into a little more detail when assembling things like brakes and bb it will help a lot of the less mechanical/noobs out

I think he should have the opportunity, after the 10th class win (i still think he'll do it, would like to see hayden back up there or dani but they don't have the outright pace/consistency, and i dislike lorenzo for some reason), to ride for every manufacturer over a season! Anyway Rossi on a big red bike would be a sight to see again!

Nice! bikes and clothing was unusually stealth? The sopping, coping-edged skatepark looked ballsy and some of those granite pillars/wall/tors looked pretty hefty! Top notch edit as well, I don't think i could criticise any of the video's you've ever produced!

IOW, much less hassle, short and sweet, seeing as I have loads of stuff on this summer I'm going there instead. was going to do beach break straight after but it clashes with my wales trip and runs very close to my germany trip as well. Plus after AC/DC and hearing the hassle of friends previous experiences, Download<IOW

Sweet as! Are you touching the front wheel before you finish the sidehops, looks like it takes a touch on some of the big ones, just before you actually top out and make it? Pretty mosnter anyway and a seemingly effortless style, good work dude!

Have they been hanging onto it since the 80's? The special effects and dancing blew my mind!

I've heard of this kind of set up before, although normally its private comapnies offering clamping and being extrotionate with release fee's. I personally think its definately a scam, and if the shop owner/manager has no connection with the company in question (you'd have to ask) then I'd just ignore it! however, the penalty for overstay (of a two hour parking lot) i've not seen any above £60, but different councils = different money making schemes!

My powerbites have welded the threads to my DMR's, greased the threads, torqued them correctly. Think stacks have fused them, but undoing them now just removes the thread insert, whilst chewing the crank arm to pieces. pretty irritated as it means new pedals as well as arms

Aren't the sea levels of scotland outdated in most cases due to the continuing rise it's experience after the glacial period of this iceage? If you were to take a GPS and log your entire journey it would be interesting to see a plot of both route and altitide changes!

monkeyseemonkeydo's right, North to South is all downhill surely?

I ride to the shop at the end of my road, I don't want the hassle of putting a lid on, when i'm going to sepnd more time in the shop then on the bike, making the helmet a nuisance. I wear one when i ride trials and most of the time on my BMX, but my XC bike (It's also my pub bike, shop's bike, works commute and occassionally uni commute) I wear the lid if I'm riding seriously. On my commutes there are cycle paths, so if i get hit by a car, it's mounted the curb, and was going to kill me anyway. If helemts became compulsory I'd hate it. I wear one most times but if I'm just rolling lesiurely down to the pub, or to a mates yard, I don't 'need' a helmet, by law, to enusre that i complete my journey with being killed/vegitated

'edinburgh envelope' pretty odd combo 'best huge poeriod ever' will take a lot of beating though

Take it out, that's a disgusting place to put it.

epic edit, riding, locations, music, everything was brilliant!

well for small things like shirts or suchlike in a cupboard or objects that don't slide or roll really it would be a great storage solution. For example my doors open 80% or the time and it's right next to my desk which would be really useful for bits and bobs, Ipod, bike gloves/lid, fags, contact lens stuff and sationery etc

I was going to 'up the ante' from JDtm's effort but goggling 'pair of blue tits' was asking for trouble and while I knew the risks I still went for 'I'm Feeling Lucky' This was the result: Also is this a trick thread which will bring the wrath of the warnhammer upon those who willfully flout the traditions and integrity of this great and noble forum?

The moto trials genius of Toni Bou messing around on a trials bike. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZQOeg98D7g&feature=player_embedded Haven't seen it on here before, but if it's a repost let me know!

Wish the stroppy bugger had drowned (jokes) Na i was gutted for Dani, love his style he just doesn't have a full race distance in him, not flat out, he had absolutely nothing left to counter lorenzo's charge.Very impressive by lorenzo, almost rossi like in the exectution, waiting until the last minute and hitting the afterburners!

Seeing your doc would be a good idea, working in awkward positions is really bad news for your back. The doc will be able to tell you whether it's minor or specialist help is needed. My dad has been given a series of stretches/exercises which help to prevent back pain after lifting/whatever since he survived a car accident a few years back. Mighty effective too, without them he'd still be on pain killers after doing anything physical Also Alistair- make sure you warm up and down if you have back pain, strectching before the warm down and rest your back if it develops pain, if it gets worse then have a look online for stretches and stuff or see above Another pointer, posture in everyday life, it's everyone's pet hate and the reason everyone hates being told about it is because you all know its true!

Also make sure you get ones which fit YOU properly. I have long fingers and find 661's a better fit then Fox gloves, although I currently have some Fox sidewinders which I love Although for trials, unless its 'effing freezing then I don't wear gloves, if you are calloused up (hard bits of skin) then they can get sore if they get too big/deep (I kept getting blood blisters under mine) you can counter this by filing/carefully cutting the top part of the callous off when required. you'll be sore next ride but fine again after that. Also try changing your grips, perhaps the waffle pattern oddessey made popular for their grips as this does flex with your hand a bit?
