i think i've just made a mess. fakie manuals are bling! 360 drop was a plush way to stomp that line. drop to fakie was so rinsed. is that last bit of plymouth mount gould? where that pool used to be ages ago?
  2. a friend rode our local trails back in the day, on a onza mod for a bet, 15ft gap on the last double (lip to lip) Can i get a 'prove it?'...because i can't, you'll just have to accept my word as an upstanding member of the forum and the wider community.
  3. Fly? Am i out of date, or has a BMX company started producing trials frames/parts? Looks tasty though. Their BMX's are really nice and indestructable, will be interesting to see how these develop!
  4. sounds like a real man

friend of mine managed to 'split' his shin impact just split it it meant he had to have internal stiches and was told of it had done the vein as well he'd have died in minutes, will try and find a photo but either way... gap was cool, good to see some people aren't just fair weather riders, but completely pointless as mentioned
  6. but there are people out there doing flips to nosepicks, surely the extra momentum due to rider weight would deliver a bigger impact then a ghost. i'm sure when i rode my bmx got just as heavy front impacts and survived undamaged. another vote for a poor product or already badly fatigued. (although steel tends to bend and crack lots before failure) but i love the reaction, it like the guys who filmed the veryon driven into the lake, 'shiiiT, shiiiiiiiiiiiT, Holy ShiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiT'
  7. runners world website/forum = gold dust also mapmyrun.com for checking your progress and apart from that, training is the only way also look to see if there is a 'hashing' group nearby there usually is and group encouragement is great fun
  8. surely a 'jap' topic would be better? not purely honda's? they're all the same, stupidly well made, pretty quick and tuneable to hell. let the arguements begin......
  9. does anybody know much about that programme which allows you to move music on and off an ipod, to a hard-drive? is it easy to do and safe? don't want to screw mine over.
  10. my hands are my best gadget, can do loads with them, like use gadgets, pick things up, hold onto my bars and levers, really versatile in my experience
  11. the manual line involving those benches was class!! you have a good level of precision was expecting more skinny's but really enjoyed it oh and Tune! nice one!

loved the front wheel drop off's, so commited and smooth! and the precision is just awesome
  13. Heard great things about almost all the specialised tyres (rumours of some pro xc riders riding them with the logo scuffed off due to other sponsers ) Oh, my 2.1 bonty's (medusa's?) are mint. Both of these may be narrower then your preference by the sounds of it though. EDIT: not medusa's they're mud-x or something the maxxis medusa's i had before though where awesome
  14. Sen's are actually incredible. Personally i'm running some 20 quid Sony in ear 'phones and love them, connection at the jack has seperated though, so the wires are exposed which is RUBBISH! Sony's always seem to sound and fit me great. I often sleep in mine and unless i'm listening to my sound system at home or in work then i'm plugged into my 'generic mp3 player' comfy under my MX lid, push bike lid, out jogging, even without clipping the wire up. but for sound quality and durability- Sen's at this price range are almost untouchable if i suddenly discover a wad of cash i'm replacing my sony's with another set of sen, but more likely, the sony cash machine with take another bit of my money!
  15. The thorn proof tubes are heavy. They don't stop snake bites and have the added bonus of ejaculating green slime into your tyre, so fixing it is messy as well as frustrating A semi rigid core would also hamper grip? We run tyres at low pressures is to increase the traction, adding extra stiffness would surely be detrimental to that?

epic. those 'rail' skills where unhinged and so well coreographed, some thought has gone into that! loved that
  17. same situation as the toyota prius? the material sourcing, extraction, processing, transportation and manufacturing uses so much energy you'd have to do an obscene amount of miles for the rest of eternity before it became benificial again being environmentally friendly needs to be from start to finish of a products life, inc disposal. making cars from organic materials (like the merc's sound proofing or the volk's cabin materials) may not be actually reduce your carbon footprint due to the impact of sourcing and preparing the materials
  18. Just clean it. It can't be that terrible? Apparently there are about a million methods, choose one and crack on! all else fails- try water and apply the brake, usually removes it instantly like rain
  19. I am aware of Concorde's safety record, which is almost unmarked. but then the 747 would take 18,000 years of flying every day for an you to be killed by it my point was the first thing developed for Concorde was the engines but that the technology had been around for a significant period of time and it took quite a while for the fuselage to catch up. it was essentially built around the engines. which is of course true for the scram but... the leap from Concorde aerodynamics to a potential 5000mph is a quantum leap in forces and stress. don't get me wrong it is possible. just probably at the end of our lifetimes and thats if the funding is kept going but the aerodynamics for the scram are so knife edge and unstable the idea of it becoming a viable, safe commercial travel option are a long way away. its almost the same as saying everyone will be travelling by space shuttle soon lets not forget one of the first scram jets was launched from a tried and tested SR-17, it promptly exploded when it hit the shockwave from the nose of the 'mothership' and destroyed both the planes, killing all the crew of the SR-17 I'm not trying to provoke an arguement its just my opinion, based on information i have read on the subject and any background knowledge, that its a loooooong way off as a passenger carrier
  20. scram jet is miles away look into the issues the SR-17 blackbirds experienced pushing the envelope just that lilttle bit further. - the thermal expansion of the materials meant the nose cone had to be 'ironed' flat with blowtorches after each flight - the fuel tanks and oil resivoirs leak when stationary as they have expanded and contracted so much, making them extremely dangerous to work around - the power plant was so voiltile and highly strung that if the one engine has a tiny, tiny misfire, the plane would cream in at mach 3. - oh and that only had to carry a few highly skilled and experienced proffesionals making the engine is fine, concorde was fine in the engine department. its the plane which is overstressed
  21. like to see it cook the rider when it overheats at the lights though! those pipes are pretty close to him! apart from the technical achievement i'll never understand the v8/v10 obsession in bikes. i'm pretty sure those motogp bikes are the pinicale of power/manuverability/speed. they mainly run inline 4's why would feel the need for that many cylinders?
  22. Fact hmmm i agree that mtbs (IMO) should stay with mountains, i don't ever feel the need to try and 'trick' my mtbs (i guess minus the trial bike). but i hate even trying to ride 'bmx' lines on any mtb. the extra size and slacker geometry leaves them miles behind in terms of tricking and ride precision. the smaller size means you have much more control and finesse, making moves actually look and feel good. ok fair enough, the urban 'jibbing' would not be possible on a bmx in many cases. but i've never seen anyone huck a 'street' bike further then i've seen a bmx yanked!
