Like Ben originally said old Trex. I have an old t-rex frame with bash plate mounts. unfortunately i lent it out for a bit and they managed to damage the bb threads so you coulds have it for 20 quid? its quite short which is lovely for streety trials but i dunno. if your interested PM me some frames have plates on the downtube to prevent dents etc my monty (stock) had a plate covering the lower 2/3rds or 1/2 of downtube which was pretty good unless your tryin rails or really pointy natty chances are you wont catch your down tube very often anyway

'Ah thats annoying, I wish i had tried that at the start of the ride, but I'm too pumped/tired now.... maybe next time?!'

The whole 'no-one can be arsed' idea is powerful stuff. You've just got to get out, once your out it feels good! (what else would you be doing? ) Just be unrelenting and drag people out, finding somewhere that is a lil sheltered and ride your nuts off I was riding bonehill rocks on dartmoor today with a mate. There was still ice and frost on the ground but we still had an awesome session the only thing that stopped us was the sun setting! We both got hyped, already planned to go out tomorrow somewhere! Also we ride a lot with a bmxer who is so creative its inspiring, could spend all day at a kerb and still make your jaw drop. That kind of enthusiasm is infectious!

I'd say make sure you get notched ones though. never got along with smooth ones on my old bike and my motorbike has notched snail cams so there must be a reason for it

indeed, spinning oppy is savage at pace. Mainly because your feet are in the wrong place for scooping the bike around. but yes i hear the arguement. i try and make sure i don'tt have a 'dominmat' direction but it always ends up being one favoured side probably because im still sh*t

Yeah the words GHETTO and BLASTER. So much fun taken a nice portable stereo to a favourite secluded night spot

there is a small point, the water you are bleeding you brake with will have somethings dissolved in it, either from pipelines or the source. there are soft and hardwater areas in the UK and although i guess no one has ever looked into it, there may be different properties and hence reactions when used as brake fuild. to ensure that you have a pure water the best way would be to use distilled water which is a pain in the arse! another aspect is the fact that while water expands when it freezes, it also expands when it get hot, proper brake fuild reacts less to temperature variations so you'd get a more consistant brake feel i guess

Unless your running mod or a modstock i doubt that you could take advantage, i've never heard of a 135mm LHD hub. You'd need horizontal dropouts as well to be able to tenion the chain without a hanger etc.

I've solved this issue by working in the freezer overnight (iceland foods) in the build up to christmas. This means when i finish (at 6am ) its getting light and warming up! (it'll always be warmer outside then the -21'C the freezers at!)

I've got an echo 08 out back of my stock, seems pretty good. Yes definately wheel build quality is what sets a strong wheel apart from a weak wheel. more then anything else. Having said that my grind has only lasted a week or two and it was a tarty one guess my grinder will get some more use oh and they defiantely come in 32h in any colour but 36h is black only. and its 46mm.

Australia is absolutely scorchio right now so unless you only ride at night out there then you'd get cooked!

That man has mad skills. truely awesome. Those wedges and 180's on the moto are incredible

Your old headset maybe? I assume you were replacing your old one? i have two bikes (bmx and trial) and managed to lose one bolt (dont ask lol) so i just tighten the headset on my bmx up using the bolt, clamp the stem uber tight (phat bmx parts so they so can take the hammering), then i use that bolt in the trials bike (saves weight on the bmx hahaha) I would always recommend that you have the bolt in a trials bike though as you yank up on the bars so often there is a lot of stress here (just to stop everyone thinking, hmmm weight weenie)

Word! I've had the same headset in 3 different frames, I also ran it for a while on the bmx as well. Only ever needed 1 new set of bearings, I've never replaced the cups or seals. It's still running strong It's an FSA pig unlsealed with the big 1/4" bearings in the lower race, heavy as houses but i know it'll outlast a few more frames. Just goes to show that with a regular strip down of the bike you can avoid most issues. It also makes things last waaaaaay longer (this means you can spend your hard earned cash on shiny new parts instead of fixing things that should never have been a problem in the first place.)

Haha. That is really weird! As mentioned pendulum are a favourite, but I do like techno/trance for riding as it doesn't vary too quickly or go so fast you are tempted to try something ridiculous. However like spartan i love riding street on my own to Killswitch Engage or, dare i say it, slipknot. But also DJ format has some TUNES! So chilled and I really like that vibe, its just a little inconsistant with the tempo so can be off putting!

just wondering if you guys had taken a look at the rocks over by chelston meadow (the tip ) just by the entrance is a rock lined avenue, some interesting problems especially where the builders have piled the rocks up to improve their own access!
-
just seen pendulum live in my hometown of plymouth(was freakin awesome). still buzzing! but just wondering what everyone likes to ride to or listen to when trialsing? i find DnB too much for riding and prefer mellower UK hip hop to ride to, on MP3, but if its not in my ears then anything will suffice, even radio 1 lol

personal choice really i find havin summat to cover most the ball fo your ankle stops you catching them so often the other thing is lil squares/ hexagons/ blocks, grip way better then the wavy waffle pattern in my opinion i rdie in either a pair of gravis low tops taht are minging or etnies which are also minging dont really think it matters to be honest

that would be myself and moonboots! was a bit baltic out there today wasnt it? didnt get much done today technique is still poor and the 100 mph wind wasnt an aid really

Very Important Information For All Tartybikes Customers
shamus replied to AdamR28's topic in Trials Chat
its a pity that this is happening to tarty, in all my dealings with them they have been unbelievably proffesional and still personal. brilliant job and customer service!! hope its sorted soon so the brand name isn't tainted! -
lol dartmoor is a pretty vague desciption though! specifics? currently finding the rock down by chelston meadow quite fun
-
loved my monty low end pads with maybe a little tar occasionally. on smootgh they were great but a light/medium grind and the monty pads tick all the boxes for me atm !
-
just the potential to have a brake with a much more reliable bite and hold while still having modulation. and its just part of it i know, no substitue to technique i cant seem to get my vee working well enough, its either got loads of bite but very little modulation or vice versa. just thought i'd explore the disc route and as has been said, it seemed to help him so mayb it'll have a similar effect for me plus being disc it wont be so affected my mud/water grit etc
-
this build has pretty much persuaded me to go front disc (thanks for the question jon_lee) i had thought for ages that i'd abuse one but if it help on front wheel moves, a current focus for my improvment, then everyone's a winner properly sweet though bud, good effort on that build. love the style and the look, not tooo much blummin chrome like evrything else these days. stealth is the way forward!
-
that may be so, i don't know the details, but it'll be worth it in the long run in my opinion. i've got a hope rear wheel built by chain reaction cycles and it has lasted me about 4 years (1 year light use then 1 year intensive i year off then another year of reaallllly heavy use! (my drop gap stage:)) a proffesional build is always a good choice, a perfect start point with even tension and perfect trueness, even with light maintenance it'll last way longer then a amatuer build (i even found this with 48 spoke 20" bmx wheels where there is room for error with the smaller wheel and more spokes)
