  1. I had Dave's old one... after a wee discussion about how he felt on it I left with the feeling he didn't like it. His words were something like 'I couldn't ride it full stop' (Y)
  2. I just got rid of my Hifi, I loved it for gaps sidehops and anything static but when it came to tapping or rolling anything I found it very odd. I also found anytime I was on something I was very unbalanced. I had the hifi stem but never used it as I had no bars to match so I was running brisa bar and stem which is around the 17deg mark. I recently built my hifi up with a mates parts and used the hifi stem with echo flats and I think this combo wouldn't be as good as the brisa's. I am on a control now and it doesn't feel as easy at sidehopping etc but it feels a lot more stable and takes me back to what im used to.
  3. A lot of ACTUAL charities would surprise you in how much they actually give to the cause. King giving $2 is better than nothing at all, products are priced according to cost to manufacture, overheads for example a most likely huge king workshop, exporting costs and staff etc... It's not like Mr King is making all £200 in profit. The hubs use small precisely machined components and the materials must of very good quality for such small mechanical parts to take such a beating... doesn't come cheap! Having a small run of different coloured components also could bump up the price as a small run could mean buying in a smaller quantity of dye and therefore losing any bulk discount with the supplier... uppy goes the price again! Marketing for hubs costs money too... I think we should be happy that a company is giving ANY money to a well worthy charity that me and any others on this forum may need some day (not only women suffer from breast cancer*) Don't see onza/koxx/echo/bt lopping anything of thier profits for any charities... (Y) * covering arse for some "tit" jokes!
  4. You seem to go through some pads mate... wouldn't mind seeing a pic of your set up.
  5. The guys like 15 year old. Give him a bit of a break. Hope you enjoy the Pitbull... Everyone has been to that 'try it out' phase. I was there and monty spray was one of the products I tried. Tell me you's guys havn't... Don't forget where you were 5 or so years ago...
  6. Vauxhall Song I thought it was funny... :$
  7. Haha, would love to have seen that!
  8. Lol, have the same feeling prawn... Overreacted a bit in college other day. Few arsewipes were throwing a small football about and I said nothing but it hit lynseys head quite hard... lifted it, walked over and mashed it into the culpurets face. Need to learn to control that defensive thing a little.
  9. If they can dress, drink, mouth off and act like they have a cock then retalliate like they have one... Point is, your safe and so is the woman so it all ended peacefully. Belfast is full of wee slags like that... my neice whos about 15 is heading down that route and its not good! Putting her fist through her own front door glass etc the silly wee tart.
  10. Pfffft... call that a track day :) Just a few pics from a wee drift day yesterday :P Some more
  11. I have an old o2 MP3 player with a 64mb card in it. It pants and I really only use it while im out running but wouldn't mind a bit more song selection if thats possible. Is there anyway of getting any more songs than about 10-12 on it? (without new card) I says on the box it plays: MP3 aac aacPlus I am shoving them on in MP3 format as I know nothing of the other 2.
  12. If you can get some pallats, preferably some blue ones then you could set them in so the point up like little rails if you can see where im coming from?
  13. Can't have that can we... (Y)
  14. Maybe one of the well known riders with contacts could approach the importer and ask for a freebe and tell them of our doubts for trials?
  15. This is pretty solid Paul. I will be investing in some new arms and a lever. The red pads are really good, will get a small clip of me riding them tomorrow to show the shear amazingness but when they wear down I have a set of Koxx green pads to swap over, they piss on all pads! Including plazzies. Div, I hads to run a smaller rim than usual to get the Vee on so slots the other way would be good for adjustment but most likely not good for trying to keep it in the one place. Edit: Oh and I have had the reds about a month now but have been on my BMX since I got this set up sorted.
  16. I got my heatsink V adaptors just over a week ago for my Hifi to enable me to run a V Brake. My initial impressions of the adaptors were that there were of good quality and a simple design (boss mounting to plate). I wen't to install them to realise the suppied bolts were too long and also the heads were too large to allow my set up to return properly but this was solved with disc rotar bolts from a hope set up. I told Steve of this just to inform him for future orders and he sent me some bolts that were a little longer than the disc bolts for added security and a lower head also. Top service. Sorted! My set up is Avid Archrival arms (not the stiffest admittedly) And a sd5 lever (shocking play in them!) but will be replacing the lever for some XTR wholsomeness soon! An odyessy slic inner and a cheap shiney (braided look) outer. And the the most importanmt ingrediant... some heatsink V-pads! These have the red compound which supposedly doesn't last long but doesn't seem to be wearing excessively for me. I have the set up on an old koxx 38mm rim (think old echo!) which holds a nice grind. The brake initially was a tad spongy but after letting the cable bed itself and stretch in its as solid as I wish it to be. Stffness could be further improved with a booster which im not running as its on a Hifi! I have ridden it about 5 times now, the first ride I wasn't sure of it and had to change my technique slightly as far as timing with the brake went compared to my magura. Once I got the hang of it I now fully trust this brake! 100%. It makes that reassuring magura-esque noise and when riding you would not tell any difference in power or lock. I like the simplicity of it all. Thats my main reason for the change. being far away from home and a hose splitting has shut down a few rides early (with quite a drive there for nothing) before. But now I can carry spare cable easily and swap it in minutes. Sorry it was a bit long winded and I appologise for any grammar or spelling mistakes. Heres some pictures: This shows the clearence with hope disc bolts. There is much more with the bolts Steve sent me.

  20. What bb/cranks are you running? My set up of square echo cranks on un52 bb make my bike feel sloppy.
