  1. Thanks angry bird! I can now bunny hop much better than all my mates that I ride with. I think they're well jealous. Here's a picture I took of a quick late night sesh so everyone can see how well this guide works! After switching from the usp to the scout i really noticed the difference. Priceless.
  2. I'd like to give a big thank you to everyone that's contributed! The request has been accepted and we will be raising the money next week. In time for christmas too, so this should be awesome. Thank you!
  3. I'm working with a group of friends to organise a small fund raising event for an 11 year old boy in need of a tandem bike. Now before you stop me right there, I'm not looking for money from any of you! What I am looking for though, is a few quotes from avid cyclists about why cycling is so important to them. I couldn't imagine my life without a bike, and I'm sure you guys feel the same. The boy we are helping was born with retinoblastoma, a form of eye cancer. He has recently become completely blind at the age of 11. He has done bike ability training on a tandem, and enjoys riding, but his family can't afford to buy one themselves. I will be writing to my sixth form's head master and in the schools news letter to get the go-ahead for a non-uniform day, where everyone brings in two pounds to put towards the cause. I want to include in the letter some quotes from avid cyclists, and I'm turning to you for help! So, what does cycling mean to you? What do you love the most about biking? If you would be kind enough to take a moment and leave a message, not only would I be much obliged, but you could help make a huge difference to a young boy's life. Thank you.
  4. Very nice! How tall are you? I've been thinking of a similar front end set up.
  5. I've had a pair for over 6 months now and by some miracle they're still in one piece. Best bars i've had yet, recommend!
  6. Amazing, I realy enjoyed that. Thanks!

  10. I ride stock, and i have a national private pilots licence. Am I immune to your troll?
  11. Thames Valley Police distributed this year's "Local Policing Summary" today. Usually I don't give much notice to such material, but this leaflet caught my attention this morning because of the nice little trials bike on the cover. I thaught you guys might be interested too, so here's the front page: As far as i can tell, trials biking wasn't mentioned at all in the summary, although you can check out the entire leaflet here: http://www.thamesvalley.police.uk/acc/pub-...-summary-09.pdf At a first glance, I was worried that it would be yet another negative image for street riding, but it seems that it is well natured and was used on the cover simply because it's an interesting picture. What are your thoughts? I think it's just the sort of publicity trials needs more of.
  12. I read a great article about the use of helmets a while back, and i think it'll help inform people on the subject, so i'll quote:

    Help [new]

Just set them to an angle you like the feel of. Make sure that angle will be comfy for both normal riding and while you're on your back wheel or you might find yourself hurting your wrists. I think you'll find that the squeaky brakes will gradually become quieter as you use them more. If it is still a big problem after a month or so, I know that you can slightly angle the brake blocks so that they hit the rim at a very slight slant, as aposed to completely front on. This reduces oscillation, and so reduces the noise.
  14. Okay guys, I'll see you all there!
  15. Are newbies allowed? If so, I'm in!
  16. The t-rex seems like a nice bike, i'm not so sure about the colour scheme though...i suppose its nothing a can of paint couldn't fix. Could anyone point me towards a shop that is selling the 'bt or mbk'? google doesn't return much. Well Tom, i'd absolutely love to get one of the inspired bikes, they look very nice indeed! Unfortunately, they're slightly out of my price range and i fear a newby like me would do more harm than good on such a high-spec bike. What sort of differences do the 24" wheels make to the way you ride? Thanks for the comments guys, i'd love to hear more opinions!
  17. Hi guys. I'm looking for a bike to start trials on, and would greatly apreciate some expert opinions on the subject. I've been moutainbiking for a long time now, so i'm very interested in the 26" bikes. After searching many different online shops, i've seen a couple of bikes i'm interested in, but nothing that i think is exactly right for me. My main concern is finding a bike that will fit me. I'm about 6ft 6, but not very heavy (tall and thin) so i'm looking for a bigger bike that's not quite so strength orientated. My main questions are: What bikes would you recommend for a tall rider? Should i just purchase a general starter bike, and see where i should go from there? (if so, any good suggestions?) Thanks
