Ah so it wasn't just me being a pussy when it came to changing my inner tube then… I run a try-all front tyre and it was a right pain! I thought it was just me being a girl.
I live in Leeds now so I very rarely (if ever) ride Cleck, but stya_bear who I linked to lives there still and I'm sure he'd be happy to show you the ropes.
There's nothing on that bike that you'd keep for trials, you'll end up replacing everything and starting with a whole new bike.
I picked up my first trials second hand for £145, you should try the same.
Is your mum paying for it all? Have you not got any of your own cash to use/put toward one?
Well if that's your budget (which I'm afraid isn't a great deal) you're best off waiting 'til you get validated and picking up a second hand one on here.
I'd also suggest getting a 20" to learn on. They're widely accepted (though not always) as being really really easy to pick up the basics on you see.
The one you linked to looks really ill suited to trials, looks like it weighs a ton too!
Ah right, makes sense.
Erm, a few years on and off, had a full year out 2008–2009, then six months out from September 2009–March 2010, then non-stop since then.
I used to live in Cleck. Not a great deal of spots, but my mate still lives there, drop him a PM: http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/index.php?showuser=26419
Imagine the obstacle you're gapping to is about 8–12 inches higher than the obstacle you're on and aim for that 'made up' point. Lazenby taught me that one and it's worked a treat.
