  1. Time and again I've said I'm looking at this as a web developer. The site has (albeit not too massive) accessibility issues so for some people the site won't work, and they won't be able to get what they want from it. Take for example the blind rider (don't know his name), he could struggle using the Inspired site as it's not as accessible as it could be. Unless you have a full working knowledge of accessibility and web standards you cannot argue me on this one. People are arguing cases they do not even understand. Ask Muel, he's seen me talk about accessibility first hand. I know my stuff, I'm not being a dick or whatever, this is inescapable fact. This has honestly gone too far, people trying to argue on topics they have no understanding of. Just try to accept that my profession and my persistence show that I may just be right… this really is becoming farcical

Say to a bird 'I bet you 50p I can feel your boobs without you noticing.' They're obviously like 'Haha yeah go on then, not gonna happen.' Grab their tits, hand them 50p and say 'Oh well…' I guess it's more a molesting than a chat-up line though…
  3. Well that's okay then. Still a teeny bit shoddy, but safe at least.
  4. Apologies, the entire commercial trials website market What, web typography? No what I'm saying is that they've obviously got a very good client-base in the trials industry. Established a name for themselves by doing Trials Site A, which gets seen by the people wanting Trials Site B, then the people starting up Trials Site C see Trials Site A and Trials Site B and think 'Well we'll use Cox too…' if that makes sense?
  5. All fair points, Mark. Which is why I reiterated that design is subjective and focussed my comments on the build. You may not like my sites' design, but you're not its target demographic. I'm okay with that. To someone with an eye for (web) typography and/or other web designers then it gets liked. You are also correct in the clients choosing 'a site like the one you did for so-and-so'. Cox seem to have used this to cleverly sew up the entire commercial trials market, it seems. Fair play to them on the business front.
  6. *sigh* EDIT: I had typed a fairly lengthy reply but to be honest it'd just fuel this farce. I have given my opinion, you've given yours. Done. Okay, direct question. There are some accessibility/semantics issues in the code, using images where it should be text and what not. This is a pretty in-detail issue pertaining to web-stabdards. A more glaringly problematic issue is this: http://www.inspiredbicycles.com/newsletter_unsubscribe.php?email=';<script>alert('DODGY SCRIPT!!!')</script> Hmmm, just copy/paste the following: http://www.inspiredbicycles.com/newsletter_unsubscribe.php?email=';<script>alert('DODGY SCRIPT!!!')</script> That example is fairly harmless but if you were to insert some malicious code (SQL) there's a chance you could destroy an entire database.
  7. My blogs are personal sites so both designed to my personal tastes—strong typography and grids. Client sites however is a different story altogether. Anyway, I've apologised for rubbing anyone up the wrong way, I really don't see why this is being dragged out any further. Design is subjective and the build quality is still shit.

Actually, my missus started conversation with me. She opened with 'Have you seen those toasters that rotate…?' and then followed up the next time with 'What are your thoughts on eggs?' I'd have run a mile if I hadn't thought she was fit haha.
  9. From a designers point of view, all the sites in the Inspired's agency's portfolio look the same, http://www.coxwebdesign.com/ They all look like templates, all the same theme, style etc. From a designers point of view, my sites have received reasonably high acclaim in the design world. Design is subjective, build quality isn't. Even ignoring the design, the build alone of the site isn't very good (though believe me, there are far, far worse). I'm not meaning to be a twat, it's just opinion from a web designer/developer on a website. I will be looking at it with a different set of eyes than most other users, hence my different opinions.

Just a cheeky smile at them across the bar while you're talking with a mate. Kinda shows them that you're interested enough to semi-ignore your mate for them, but not desperate enough to run over with your cock out. It's worked for me before, albeit a while ago.

Anyone know any iPad apps?! Can't seem to find any decent ones
  12. Well I'm a designer/developer but I tend to do better in the latter. Professionally I'm both. Haha, I'm a developer, not a c*nt. I hope
  13. As a designer I'm not that great, there are dozens of people on here who would kick my arse at design. However, I'm not berating the design so much as the build. That's all. Sorry but development is my profession and it so happens that I'm a very good developer. My thoughts and opinions aren't unfounded or incorrect but, if it's annoying people then I shall stop. Apologies, and all the best, Harry
  14. No worries dude. And yeah, it was fun Thanks Definitely, we'll get a few sorted this summer. Yeah get on up, like I said I live right in the centre so drop me a message on here if you're considering it. Thanks for the comments Cheers all, my gf is well happy with all the feedback, so now I reckon I can drag her along to loads more rides hehe Win-win. Any more comments?
  15. Haha, that's my mate Dan doing the rail gap, and I'm just out of shot on the left (my bikes on the floor).

    F*ck me, amazing. Effortlessly massive.
  18. I disagree. We inherited one client whose developers had that 'as long as it works' attitude. As soon as they wanted the site to amend/expand the shite code-base couldn't handle it. We did some hefty rebuilding and it cost them almost as much as the original site cost them just because the code wasn't maintainable, efficient or scalable. I used to semi-agree with you but to this day that's one of the best real-life and measurable examples of bad, just-make-it-work code being utter wank. Wasted several months of salaried dev time just because the code-base was shoddy. Good code is important.
  19. Well nothing, but I hit her with 'You were adamant you needed to sign out of Facebook on my iPad, so I want to sign out of TF of your laptop!' That seemed to work
  20. Yeah I was getting pissed off at this yesterday. I was trying to sign out on my girlfriend's PC and she was like 'What have you got to hide, what have you got to hide?!' I just opted for the delete cookies thing.
  21. Cheers dude Yeah yours too, I was saying to Suze last night just how much you've improved since the first time we rode, it's mental! And yeah, Cocky and Dan we're on form. Still in awe of Dan's drop-gap.
  22. Thanks mate Aye. some huge riding, esp your sides and gaps, and Dan's mega drop-gap! Yes man, some quality riding from you lot. Next time. Drop me a message, I live right in the centre of town. Same goes for anyone fancying a Leeds ride Keep the comments coming guys, dead proud of our lass with all these
  23. Riding was mental, and I'm surprised he didn't injure himself on that roof gap, but that music honestly spoiled it for me
  24. Now then guys: http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=153147
  25. Awesome ride yesterday guys, and Suze got loads of pictures. Here are over 60 that she edited last night/this morning. Feel free to grab hi-res versions from the Flickr set.
