  1. Desperate times... Don't worry I'll look after her.
  2. Oh yeah so it is. super thanks guys.
  3. Hi guys, As it's almost christmas and money is a bit tight i have to ride into work for the next couple of months. As i only have 2 trials bikes i need to ride one of them into work. i wanted to know, because i'm not to sure but will this chain ring Blackspire Super Pro Coloured Middle Chainring fit on my crank arm where the bash ring is at the moment? cheers, Shawn
  4. I'm having this issue too. Some interesting points made here. Tis a great help. TF is awesome. (hippy moment...)
  5. Awesome on one wheel! Love the tags too. Tee hee
  6. I thought so. Yeah my rear hub is a late 90's hope with the big splined bit, also it has so few engagement points on it compared with the ffw on my mod that it catches me out some times . As for the 'old style bash' its the dmr one, i think, that bolts on the 4 arms of the crank arm (where the bigger chain ring would go) and has a 24T on it at the moment. On the rear i have a 21T and a 16T and an old broken derailleur with a real short cage on it that i can wind in and out for the two different gearings. What i'm not sure on is when looking at 8 speed rear derailleur's it says about 'GS' and 'SGS'. I have no idea what that is really... I'm guessing what ever one i choose it's best to go for a matching shifter? (as in make/model)
  7. Hello, Well i now ride a mod and my old pashley is sitting in the lounge gathering dust. I want to start riding it about a bit more and maybe do a little bit of trials on the way home from work or out at the weekends ect. (it's single speed at the moment) So i want to stick a few gears on the back again so i can ride about a bit more. (to moms for sunday lunch ) Thing is i'm not sure what to get... I know i need a new rear derailleur, cables, rear cassette and a shifter. Oh and it has the older style bask ring on so i think i might get a Middleburn 38T So really i know what i need but not sure exactly what to get..... Man i feel confused now....
  8. Wow those TNN kenny Beleay pads are pricey! If I get some new break clamps that only clamp straight then I might get some when I get payed...
  9. Really!?! sounds like it was an interesting ride then! I was going to be down but was a bit hung over form last night so i got up late... Doh!
  10. Thank you for your comments and advice guys. I might see about experimenting with different rear pads and maybe save for a lighter rear wheel. (it really is a heavy feeling back end) The reason i ask about some of the parts is a brought this from a guy who lives near me off of ebay last year and me not knowing too much about mods i thought i'd ask peeps on here. Are the forks bad? i haven't seen them on any other bike. they feel light and quite stiff. (but then again i haven't ridden many different forks) The bar's are new and so far i haven't herd anything from them... they feel really nice though but i'm still trying to find just how far forward or back i want them
  11. I guess i put this in the wrong section....
  12. I have a gig on Saturday but i might be able to come out still, if i don't get home too late...
  13. I had the kenda one but it's really heavy! I've been running the Monty tubes and the welterweight one's in the rear for a while now and they're great. feel light and springy also no pinches as yet....
  14. Hi everyone. here's some pictures of my bike as it stands. I'm not sure on what year the frame is and also what some of the other parts are so maybe some of you guys might know... ( The pedals, bars and rear tyre are new and feel really nice too.) I really like to ride natural stuffs but i find that the rear maggie i just can't always rely on. Especially now it's coming up to winter and most weekends are going to be cold, wet or muddy. I really like the feel and response of a rear disc but as you can see from my pictures i can't run a rear disc on this frame. Now i don't have tones of money to throw at the bike but really really want to go rear disc. At the same time i don't want to sacrifice the weight ether by getting the cheapest parts that weigh a tone. (the rear of my bike as it is i've been trying to shave some weight off because it is fairly heavy) I'm a fairly light rider and at the moment and i'm not that great, unfit really i guess... (so only rocks, logs and no big 6' drops) So i'm open to any ideas on parts and things that might be worth me getting. I've been thinking of the Monty 220 Kamel frame as it's almost the same geo as my echo and gives me the option of maggie or disc. Will the increase in the BB rise and smaller chain stays help me with getting up stuff too... (I do like the look of them too :$ ) It's about the most i could spend on a frame as i will also be having to get a rear hub or new back wheel and the break too. There's the next question is rear hub? full wheel build? I thought about maybe a DOB Magnesium Rear 19" on a Echo TR Rear Disc 2010? I'm not to hot on what might work on the rear so some advice would be super. As for BB and head set i could use my BB from the echo as it's the same size... i think... but the head set i'm not sure on, would it fit? how do you get the thing off and onto another frame? what tools would i need to do that? lol As you can tell I've had my chin scratching going all weekend and i think that you guys would know much more about what i need to do and get so that's why i stuck up this thread. Thank you for reading and I'm grateful for any info or ideas. Shawn.
  15. Well spend a couple of hours in the garden today in the sun. I've been trying to stay on the back wheel after a gap and continue to across another obstacle remaining on the back wheel. Nothing too big at the moment because i want to get the moves nailed before i go bigger plus my balance still is't great but i'm getting better slowly.
  16. Nice! cheer dude i'll check it out. Arrrh ball's i think it's sold... and a front one...
  17. yeah that's pretty much it. (I'll still try giving the old one a bleed as i think since new it's never had one!) Maybe if i were to invest in a new maggy and get an after market blade for it...
  18. Sorry, yeah i could try a fresh bleed but would it be an idea to try a longer leaver blade just to see if i prefer it as i do with the hope leaver blades. Hum... ok. So could i get a new style 4 finger blade for my older leaver body? would they fit together? ( Sorry i don't know much about changing parts on breaks i've never really had to do it)
  19. Hello everyone, I have a question about leaver blades but need to give you a bit of background info before i ask it so please bear with me. At the moment i am running an old style hs33 with the star shaped tpa on the silver blade. it's fairly old but still works well. (it does take some pulling though lol makes your arm kill after a while) I also recently rode on another mod with a disc on the back. i really like the feel of the hope leavers and the way the break works under you, (i have a hope disc on the front of my mod) but i can't afford to get a new frame with disc mounts, a rear hub and break. So my thinking is if i were to buy a new hs33 with the longer leaver blade would that give me more feel with the back break and would it feel more secure like discs do? (if that makes sense) Any ideas or info would be awesome, cheers guys, Shawn.
