  1. Hi mate you have neglected to mention which cable disc you are using ? i use a bb7 with a 203 rotor have had a louise and a hope mono trial neither seem to hold as well as the bb7 plus there is more pad adjustment on the bb7 if you are after more power and you are using a 160mm rotor try a bigger rotor say 180 with a plus 20mm adapter cheaper than buying a new brake!! and check the set up most disc brakes i have seen people complain about in the past are due to poor set up or under sized rotor would say mod's 160-180 mm & stocks 180 {190 magura} and 203 on the bb7 seems to be spot on. hope this helps stu.

  4. Hi mate i use the croco reds on a stock with a light grind they give really good power with very little noise and seem to be lasting pretty well too ! only draw back with them so far is the slightly softer lever feel over the harder pads that i used previously due to the compound but a good trade off with the increase in holding power .
  5. Hi mate I run the tryall reds from tarty on a light grind with a two bolt booster and it makes no noise at all and power wise it has never failed to hold the only draw back is a slightly soft lever feel.
  6. not totally sure why discs are so popular now they do offer consistent power and reliability but the rotors do damage easily ! front rim brakes are still around though, although all the forks i have seen broken have broken around the rim brake mounts as these provide a stress point in the middle of the fork blade. could be a reason why discs are so popular now as forks get lighter in a never ending bid to save weight !
  7. status what status ??

  8. Hi Mark i have just returned to the sport after about the same lay off as yourself i was bemused by the new style bikes i used to ride a giant hawzee team trials circa 2001 and the loss of seats etc was a cue for begining the search for help ! i signed up here and got alot of help buut the biggest help was from tartybikes they were only to happy to help out with advise on frames and components problem solved now back up and riding an atomz premiere and love it the new style geometry has taken a little getting used to but it does help with the new front wheel moves . welcome back to trials !! stu.
  9. just cleaning out some old stuff and found an original copy of evolve classic lenosky and leech on vhs does any body still use a video player ? will have to look into getting it converted into dvd !
  10. Hi guys i have been trying to get my head round this technique for a while and i am really struggling with it i just cant seem to get the bike forward quick enough to complete the move and usually end up as a heap of bike and person on the floor ! would changing from a 90 mm 10 degree rise to say a100 or 115 mm with a bigger rise help or am i being a bad workman and blaming my tools ? any advise would be greatly appreciated !
  11. Hi mate welcome to the online trials world ! stu.
  12. any body had good or bad experiences with tyre combos for dry weather riding i am running try all stickys but they have worn down almost as fast as i can ride although they seem to work better worn out than when they were new ?
  13. old citreons used to use a mineral oil for the suspension and brakes it contains corrosion inhibiters and is a proper hydraulic systems fluid & for the price of a little bottle of blood you get a whole ltr of citreons fluid called lhm what they dont tell you is that old magura systems used to come supplied with this as standard branded as there own i keep a bottle in the garage and just take a small bottle of it with me.
  14. i couldnt sell it ! its been with me too long but im up for a ride at some point & it would be good to show the youngsters the old boys can still cut it ! just before i bought my new style bike i emailed norco to see if i could get a ryan leech frame and got a very unexpected reply from one mr martin hawes who is a product manager over at the uk importers for norco now very random should email him see if he fancys coming out of retirement !!!!!
