Pricey otherwise i would, just needs too be fairly cheap and possibly easy. Made the clutch feel a lot better by greasing the actual pedal, it appears to of had a new clutch cable very recently.
-
Fitted a new gearknob and outer thingy today. Took a look at the Vento bits and there is no Grill. Wonderful. Might go on hold, What easy modification could i do to the engine for bigger BHP?
-
Sell me your old wheels?
-
I think its standard i have the original ad and it states it then so i rekon so. Well it was fine until i found a cable dangling loose from above my pedals that went into my door, me being me pulled it out with little effort and taped the ends up and left it at that but then this happened :/. Might take the card off tomorrow and take a proper look to where they went. The chap who i bought it off did say thats happened to him before, hence why he had it disconnected.
-
Cleaned its inside completely today, too some stickers off(started getting dark) and put the splitter back on. And reconnected the Central locking: Now its only happened once today just before i walked home from it, the drivers side indicators all stayed on, only disconnecting the C-L turned them off and then it was fine. Anyone got any ideas what's up with that?

Came on coilovers which was a bonus, save me faffing around buying them. It is yes! but need to buy a vento hood and the dick cut the grill i think, but there rather cheap. Being a complete noob with cars, how difficult is it to fit a new clutch cable? And i imagine i should grease it right?
-
It is a state, the chap i bought it off me is a lazy cnut who didnt bother cleaning it much. But for £550 i would say i got a smashing deal (?) Just need to fidle with the clutch. Mk3 Pics: Plan so far: De-sticker Buy a red bonnet (burn the old one) (jardo has your mate got any?) better wheels (maybe banded steels or if anyone is selling any) camber shims and spacers Clean inside remove seats, do a proper job spray headlining black on a warm day, lower it 30mm more see how it runs, full g3 mop all over might spray the current wheels black fix odd clutch feel (mate says its just how they are?) generally neaten it up De-wiper the rear EDIT: only one single bit of rust on the entire thing! pictured Boot contains : Vento front end GTI mk2 big lip mk3 splitter mk3 lights alternator, throttle body, starter motor

Drove it properly today and the clutch feels 'lumpy' like when you let off the clutch and push it down it feels as if it does it has stages or sticky.I don't belive its right. Anyone got any ideas on a fix?
-
Yes mate if you could find it that would be ace. Its a 97 one iirc but ill take the wheel off and have a butchers to see what the spline is. What are common problems with mk3s?
-
I've only seen the first one on pirate when it first came out, i couldnt remember it. didnt see the second one. But pretty much guess the third one is the first and second one combined. 1+2=3

J44rdo has he got any after-market steering wheels and bosskits to fit a MK3? well that question goes to anyone really. Need to buy one asap as the mk3 ones make me want to cry. Would quite like a deepdish or the cheap (fake) momomomomo/omp/sparco generic one would do. 12" or smaller let me know Let me know what you have and ill get me some pics. Also if anyone has some nice 8J wide 15" wheels let me know. Got the golf home at 11 tonight so am going to get to work on it tomorrow, will post some pics then.

Deathrace 3 is f**king awful Please don't waste your time. The realism is brilliant. The original Daybreak was more interesting.

Bought myself a mk3 golf estate, do not ask why, i hate mk3's. Its a 2L Gti and cost me 550 with a Vento front end so will fit it tomorrow, Ill get some before and after pics. Its also got a MotoGP exhaust on it, why is beyond me. Car is clean body wise, no rust all electric, not bad inertia for a mk3. Paint needs a G3 buff up but not many scuffs really, no dents. "Full" service history from new. coil-overs, mk2 steels. The gayest sub-woofer creation thing i have seen. Basically the plan is to slam the shit out of it and put it on banded steels and maybe paint the roof black as the bonnet is black(with some siht pin-stripe thing on). De-sticker the whole thing also is a must, the back-window has some good ones, but never been a fan of stickers on cars. I'm sure Pashley will have some kind advice for me

Very bad day, the guy has changed his mind about the golf If i was to fix it, and threw it up for sale for around the 1k mark, do you reckon it would sell? Gutted about the mk2.
