i personally found the video quite comprehensive...explaining most things i felt you need to know?! as for getting higher, if you already have the ideal technique - get some more explosive strength in your legs
-
if you can pedal kick quite well, it shouldnt be too hard to learn...it will though, take a while to turn right on the sport (if its a small spot!) ok, so imagine hopping on the rear wheel... - when the rear tyre is on the floor inbetween hops, you want to twist your body towards the direction you want to turn (you'll find one is easiler than the other) - look to where you are wanting to turn, this will help inadvertantly move your body in the right direction - you'll find that your handlebar will drop either to the right or the left depending on which way you turn turning the wheel slightly, this is completely normal. to look at, you will seem to be doing mini left and right turns of the bars each hop - when learning at first, you'll find that instead of turning on the spot, you'll probably turn in an arc shape (again, its normal and just takes practice) - dont over do it at first, just try and turn a few degrees to the right/left...it doesnt matter if it takes 10 hops to get 90 degrees, it'll get your body moving in the right way

Who Made The First Trials Bike We See Today?
chris4stars replied to LordMersey's topic in Trials Chat
i think i remember the first 20" onzas coming out with no seats...they may have been in 1999-2000?! i'll have to dig out an old copy of mbuk... -
youre welcome

deja vu

the hebo team trial ones have been great...used with foam and rubber grips, though they have worn through almost in 6ish months of riding so, foam grips are much better without gloves?! i didnt really give them a chance, switched to rubber pretty quickly

How Old Were You, And What Was Your First Bike?
chris4stars replied to just-starting-out's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
24 - an inspired! though used to wheelie all my other bikes till then -
does anyone try jumping with both wheels at the same time these days?* *edit - on purpose, rather than possibly during the learning curve of bunny hopping
-
im lost...what is the difference between them? im guessing one is lifting both wheels up at the same time.....the other lifting the front then the rear? (i didnt realise the first was a bunny hop if so)

its 'youre' drives me bloody nuts that does modified is pretty annoying at times with his relentless posts and alot is brought on himself...but again as muel said etc etc as for trying to keep this on topic, welcome... enjoy....im sure you already knew what it can be like etc -
this is a bit of a joke right?! as with your last topic...surely in 4 years youve seen peoples reaction to people asking or complaining about validation? as for your posts... erm ... selling in NMC, claims of building a 20"...followed by what seems like a subtle way of selling a 24" again, with no idea on what bike to go for in a recent topic.... 'very competent rider' - maybe, but im sure the vaildation system has nothing to do with your level of riding
-
subtle way of trying to sell in NMC? 4 years of being on here and no validation? im suprised more by the fact youve been on for 4 years and still ask a question thats been written about repeatedly in great depth or 4 years and still no idea how to use the search facility the list goes on,,,

most of mid august is ideal for me....im sure rab and mr milton will be game too

maybe make some videos of yourself riding? - makes it easy to see improvements in riding - depending on where you upload it, you can get some positive feedback and compliments from others - camera comes out, some people have a natural want to push themselves that little bit more! - after your first one is done, its a benchmark - somthing you look forward to improving on in the next at the end of the day though, if youre not enjoying riding in view of the public, find other spots or practice in quieter areas untill you feel comfortable?
-
I personally always take my bike inside reguardless....as for loosening your wheel and turning the bike upside down...if youre going to do that, why not just take the wheel inside too?! (chain off the chainring too for extra effectiveness) though a note to those who maybe arent as aware....the stealing of alot of things is often more thought out than you may imagine (they can be smart little tards at times). Routine parking your bike in a certain area, certain time etc etc...they notice these things

nice one! and how hot is victoria!....surely some number swapping going on there
-
ride it and see for yourself?

always shocked at how the advice of some of the most knowledgeable riders up and down the uk (and abroad) is ignored with this same topic magura may agree with you....makes sence for them to recommend oil of a sort rather than promote the idea of water at the risk of the odd (and somewhat rare) problem of a leak. your theories may be right, but at the end of the day it is proven to work year in, year out....so in practice, who cares? (magura also supplies black pads - enough said!) ive said it so many times before....its a £60 brake when brand new, half that when used, why get so worried about ruining it? so a seal somehow goes in a year of riding with water and you need to buy a new one...i can assure you (essentially) £5 a month cost of having a water bleed is more than worth it for the difference in feel better feel - faster progression - more confidence - more fun - less chance of injury (a better rear brake has saved my ass a number of times) its a no brainer EDIT: think about it - the number of items that pump air/water that dont use an oil based lubricant to maintain seals?
-
personally? well other that it being over priced.... about £2500 for something youre going to bash into hard sharp edges (at some point) and have no way of replacing a number of the one off pieces....cant say id enjoy the feeling of just not caring
-
nice little video... no down to fronts ever again! have they become fashionable?! maybe work on landing on the rear, then holding it for another hop after rather than letting the front drop... good though
