its the new hs33 lever and the 2 finger plade that comes with it....ive been pretty tempted to swap the blade for the echo sl, or even go for the full echo sl lever....just to try something different?! i dont ever have a problem with the mono trial lever...it feels great, part of me is tempted to go for a rear disc if ever they release a fourplay with a rear mount?! but thats a whole different topic and thread...im just not feeling the benefits of the magura just yet, and with a nakered hand..cant enjoy a very very light grind! edit* never tilted the bars as the right hand is fine, but i will try just incase...and it does hurt all the time, more so when riding

Right, i was out for a decent ride about a week ago...and the next day my fingers on my left hand were really feeling the pain, mainly the middle and ring finger from the knuckle to the base.. they feel pretty swollen, and the pain is like a throbbing ache...(almost like a broken bone), its hard to squeeze my hand shut and hurts to pull my fingers back...lifting anything heavy is surprisingly sore and my fingers feel comparitively weak i was pulling the brake pretty hard (just my forefinger) because i hadnt yet grinded my rim...and needed better braking, if anyone has had any similar injuries or advice specific to this sort of pain im all ears! ps - i have chatted to a number of doctors and had them look at it, but theyve been unable to diagnose for sure what it is...im half tempted to actually go and get it officially checked out, but thought id ask for some advice here first. its such a specific problem, there is probably more knowledge of it here anyway

my take on it video wise was more along the lines of short clips, i took this sort of thing yesterday when out riding: (if it works...you may need to be on facebook) http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/video/vi...7091&ref=nf its not long enough to justify being in the vide section, and not exactly put together well or good enough that people would want to watch! being in the 'progress' section, people would have a heads up of what it was and not clog up the videos section with little clips...

Does Watching Trials Videos Improve Your Riding?
chris4stars replied to Smoby's topic in Trials Chat
helps a huge amount i reckon....ideas, motivation, some help with technique (good to know how a move should look), something to aim for...the list goes on still waiting to ride with other people, january weather in edinburgh seems to put off a few! can imagine how much help that would be though -
see post on same page as this one after reading post, and perhaps replying...check out the whole validating thread and peoples views about posting questions before looking

thanks for the replys guys... money isnt really an issue luckily enough, and i didnt really expect a difference in riding...it was as much for the looks/nice to know feeling as it was anything else. i was just curious where alot of peoples preferences for the rs7's came from, rather than any of the other highend cranks ive seen on tarty im running with pro2 hubs, and have never really been taken by a ffw....i ride a fair distance on it, and the idea of the chain constantly going...im bound to get caught out one morning with a frayed bit of jeans! cheers again

just a cheap 2 stroke?! cheap, easy to run (youre restricted to 30mph at 16 reguardless)...and you can get rid of it and get a decent 125 at 17 (or whatever the age is) no chance youd want to keep a 50 after a 125 anyway, so why get a fancy one! then after that you can get a real bike

im very tempted to treat myself to what ive read to be one of the best cranks available for trials...but before i go ahead, i was wondering if anyone could point out a few things; 1. in terms of my actual riding, will i (or would anyone for that matter) actually notice a difference? not just between my cranks (trialtech isis - soon to go on sale if i get these!) and the rs7, but between any cranks in general? (on the assumption they are the same arm length) 2. i noticed the lifetime warranty...so is this literally meaning this will be the last crank i ever have to buy?! does it require a certain bottom bracket to keep the warranty valid? 3. if no to above, what (if any) is the recommended bb to use alongside them? will the trialtech suffice? thanks for any help with the questions!

(meant in a nice way before someone else tears you a new one) but you should probably be thinking more along the lines of getting a bike first...to put the hopes onto?!

How Did You Find Out About Bike Trials?

its quicker/easier to get a laugh from the amusing jokes that have followed on from that 'piss take' im pretty sure the time it took to post a reply didnt take enough time out of the day to not go riding! almost ironically, it would have taken more time for you to get the photos taken, uploaded, topic created with photos posted...(and then the subsequent replies in response)

Can Anyone Here Make Steerer Tube Extensions?
chris4stars replied to weirdoku's topic in Trials Chat
just putting it out there...im wondering how many people have had the same problem?! i know id prefer a little more steerer tube to clamp my stem too... is it a viable option for tarty to perhaps develop one of these? there could be a number of ways to create a universal part and then trim it down for each persons order maybe something along the lines on a bmx footpeg setup on an adapted specialised star nut...or as someone suggested, a lathed extention? ive no idea how varied internal threads on steerer coloumns are, but it could be an idea... edit* looking at marks post...something like that too! im sure somewhere can produce essentially large diameter headless bolts... -
is it my screen...or is that a pink helmet too

i just learnt to sidehop over the last couple of days and dont have any issues now... unless your foot coming off because its sliding....id recommend getting back to basics again (on flat on both wheels going left and right) and then building back up? shouldnt take long at all
-
hmmm, the complete bike isnt really doing anything for me...but the frame itself looks great i can see what people mean by the 'pro bike look'...reguardless of how well he rides, id have expected rockman to want to ensure the bike looks the part as well as rides well (isnt that part of the reason being sponsoring a rider?! to show off your stuff in the best way?!)

Ashton Effect Vs Inspired Fourplay
chris4stars replied to multi tasking male's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
haha great, though im not sure if ali knows he's my mate yet.... (i did just do what im sure you did - look though the 'for sale' section) with reguards to the other stuff...the points above - you should probs take on board. you have been making alot of posts about this sort of stuff and it could almost be interpreted as you just making things up with a mind to get validated asap (for some bizarre reason) you'll need to work on your replies too..slow down, and take the time to re-read them after. i almost get away with not using the correct grammatical buildup of sentences but i try and make them as easy to read as possible, as if i was having a conversation with someone?! perhaps you could try the same remember, they guys on here are the ones you'll be asking for advice on anything throughout your trials riding! they are even the guys that supply you with the new, (from tarty etc ) and old (from everyone else) bike parts you'll no doubt need....maybe start afresh and get rid of your somewhat already tarnished reputation -

this sounds like a crazy concept... ....considering your recent posts, id assume you are now in a position to buy....if you do have the money, and you do want a 24" bike....it may well be worth swallowing your pride, apologising....and trying to come to some sort of arrangement that goes for any buy/sell arrangement, its just common courtesy to keep the seller informed of the honest situation...and its changes as and when they occur as for the actual bike itself, its pointless to go into any sort of argument about what it is actually worth...any seller would be happy to tell you the spec, and 10 mins of research or even a posted topic on here would be enough to know how reasonable the price was. i didnt see many fourplays for sale and i havnt checked ebay recently (i did once and someone was trying to pull a fast one)...so if there is one available on here for a fair price, id be inclined to go ahead with the purchase failing that, the last thing you want to do is get a reputation on here for being unreliable..especially if youd be looking to buy second hand parts in time -

im not sticking up for anyone, im relatively new here...and reading through this topic from an unbiased view point, it does seem to be pretty weighted against the guy like alot of the chat on the forum, its been brought up because someone has an opinion on it...it doesnt need to be brought up with a motive in mind, sometimes its just nice to start up conversation and debate through an issue, maybe even change someones viewpoint on this same logic of wondering why any person is concerned about validating; alot of new members want to be validated, their access to all the knowledge and information on the forum doesnt increase, and neither does their ability to ask any trials related question. so other than those wanting to sell, the only difference really its to feel like they are part of the 'community' and join in with discussion on any manner of topics (the latter needing no motive whatsoever) edit* if there are some other bigger logistical reasons why a person would need to become a full member again, id be curious to hear - i could be missing out on something -

haha, so all of these topics/post etc from the guy are just all talk?! curious to see what he has to say in reply...would be pretty low considering the amount of people who have tried to help... -

its true that first impressions do mean alot, but then at the same time...if a new potential member came along to the forum they would also potentially see a long string of pointless topics in NMC, most of which with replies along the lines of 'this question has been asked', 'no selling in NMC', 'refer to the NMC rules' and a load of pretty pointless posts created just in a bid to gain attention to become validated. surely this would be as bad an impression as one single topic discussing (quite childishly at times) the validation system?...much better anyway than the new potential member thinking the forum is full of tards who cant spell, ask daft questions a monkey could answer, have an inablity to use and common sence or read and follow basic rules. im hoping just as a result of this being here...it may have stopped at least a couple of daft topics or a couple of ridiculous validation votes being made. much better all this nonsence is confined to one topic than spread across the forum EDIT* before anyone joins on the bandwagon of through abuse, i am aware i dont use capital letters and im aware one of the mods refuses to validate someone if thats the case! what can i say, i just dont like them...its like alphabet hierarchy -

It is yes...its in the for sale section on here whether its sold or not im not sure, it got some interested today...either way its probably the best place to keep an eye out for such things, with the amount of kit that being sold, you could pretty much build up any bike for very little if you had the patience! not sure how often inspired frames/full built up bikes come along though, seems to be alot of people wanting them...personally if there was a decent deal and you could afford it, id send a message to whoevers selling and pick it up asap -
pretty different to your first 3 videos filo...liking the park stuff though, its an inspired right? will try a harder tyre, work on feeling comfortable rollong on the front and go from there...thanks for the clips guys!
-
until 1:50 i was thinking this may be a spoof?! hmmm edit* - the tree bit was pretty funny though!
-
cheers...i'll search through a few of them, see if i can find a decent clip to slow down a little

im pretty sure ive seen one of these in a video somewhere, but cant find it again... any video links with it in would be great, and any helpful advice is welcome! (at the moment im almost getting the 180's done both ways - right foot forward, and they should be sorted pretty soon...but any helpful advice on these would be welcome also)
