  1. enjoyed that one 0:41...ouch, made up for it with the 180 on the wall & front to rear!
  2. ive hardly been here for long, and already finding the repeated digs at this guy a bit dull now?! ironically at the same time youre adding posts that arent exactly within the rules of the site depending on how you view things reguardless of your personal differences against him, his topic is valid...would be good to see people grow a pair, and try to contribute to the topic instead
  3. pfft girl troubles?! i have more problems with troubled girls emotion is just an evolutionary trick to help the species...dont fall for it!
  4. is it just me...or am i seeing full members post in a carbon copy of a thread that is already quite established in the full members section?! hopefully the joshlyd guy can come by here and kick some asses too
  5. ali c i think is selling a used white fourplay with a decent spec for just over 500! id snap that up in a second if i were in the market for one, decision made as a result (theres a reason why so many top guys are using it!) EDIT* im not sure if this is against the rules....if so im sorry!
  6. looks great! have you even riden it a little?! the front end looks a little different to your green one...wondered if it made a difference i saw his current bike yesterday, and just made me look at my inspired and wonder how to make it nicer! looks amazing remember, its not just the bike that made him 'famous'...its the bike that brought 'trials' to the uneducated masses, where things go from here i dont know...but it would be good to think its the beginning of something
  7. you dont need to post, people are already answering the question.....?
  8. cheers, expect an order soon for the crank at least (and a mug - worth it for the comic sales pitch alone)
  9. Right guys...calling apon your visualisation skills....im debating turning all the white bits black...rims/spokes/fork etc etc and getting some rs7's with a blue bashring, any thoughts?! I have the thing infront of me, and cant visualise it to save myself! i just know i like the blue hubs on black wheels... all suggestions welcome
  10. ah...you should perhaps tell tartybikes, and every other person whos written a pad review for the roackman blues who ALL say it is better with a grind... (the guys reviewing are only experienced and probably the most knowledgable up and down the country - what do they know ) for what was a sensible topic and question...they are some shocking replies guys
  11. you have my vote i can see where youre coming from...and im sure all the full members and moderators alike welcome anyone in NMC who doesnt create posts of any sort just to try and become validated. it may just me being cycnical...but im sure ive seen quite a few topics on problems that dont exist, or questions where the answer isnt particularly wanted! the problem though i think solves itself alot of the time...if indeed there is a problem at all?! unless a new member is wanting to sell, i wouldnt think there isnt a particular need or rush to be validated to be able to post in the regular area...if i can try and explain myself; any good questions or even minor queries can be made in the NMC which would be regularly be checked by all full members who would be happy to answer, and if the question is well put and shows youre not a tool - a vote too! any knowledge of sorts that would be usually used in a post in the full members area usually has an opportunity to come out in NMC. you must have seen the huge amounts of repeated daft questions posted there! lots of chances to be seen as someone well worth validating with a post like that, you should be sorted anyway
  12. snap! im pretty sure im using rockman blues (they are blue and came with a recent fourplay from tarty) and im using them with the white trialtech rims ungrinded only a few days ago i considered a grind, and after looking at tartys site and the pad reviews here...i think thats what the pads seemed to be designed for?! im not sure if thats what rockman had in mind when coming up with them or its tartys experience and recommendation copied from tarty: "Top secret compound offers the best performance in both dry and wet conditions (as long as they are used with a grind)! Recommended Use Blue: Sharp light grind for dry weather, sharp slightly deeper grind for wet weather Green: Smooth rim. really hope there is quite a difference though...only yesterday when trying for the first time to lock the wheel with two fingers (using one finger all the time is normal- right?) did i realise quite how much the brake was slipping! (as a result the hub was engaging..crank was turning, and made 'rocking' inparticular a nightmare - im looking forward to another leap in confidence!)
  13. im liking this idea...though all too soon i can imagine you being validated and having to repost in the full members area?! if possible, it would be idea if small clips like that are added, you can get a chance to see the progress, see the move itself...and probably get some good advice from the more experienced on here, which is ideal for a 2010 beginner like myself! will make a small vid to post to show my first 2/3 weeks of learning too
  14. from how i interpreted his post to start the topic, if he's ideally wanting a 24"...a stock would share more similarities than a mod? it would definately make the switch to a 24" much more natural there hasnt really been any specific style of riding mentioned, but you'd think with the mention of a 24"...a more rolling/street type...maybe thats just me? (id have assumed a couple of searches or research was done about the differences between mod and stock before the topic was posted) the fourplay i believe has been used by one of the top guys in trials competition...with success too, so ruling it out because it isnt a 'pure' trials bike doesnt really hold either way, whichever you decide to choose...going second hand will mean you can get a pretty good package for alot less money, and perhaps give you the option of both
  15. + lots great video...even without the instruction, the slow motion really helps thanks!
  16. Ah...sorry about that, didnt realise you were meaning you wanted the equivalent ratio on a 24" from 18:15 on a stock I should go back to bed...listen to luke! Edit* save weight?! i dont think the extra 20 grams should be even thought of when considering your ratios really...get what feels right
  17. Keep in mind, if you are going to go for another branded brake fluid, 'mineral oil' is what you'll be looking for - any DOT fluid will ruin your seals! As for any other fluids of that nature....well, personally id take the opinion that there would be a reason behind it being labelled as clutch/car brake fluid etc. It could all be a marketing con, but there are so many complex chemical compounds in all of these fluids, and any one may not be suitable Then again, if you were willing to try somthing other than maguras oil....id go with the water/antifreeze option, its popular and 'revolver' on here has posted a pretty good video of how to bleed them without the need for syringes and all that nonsence too EDIT* quote: Citroen clutch fluid is the best for money. £9-11 for 1l of the stuff from halfords. Make sure it says MINERAL oil on it, if you're unsure ask someone in store. if according to tarty, 50ml is enough to bleed a pair of brakes, a litre may be overkill?! 20 bleeds?! obviously value for money because its essentially a bulk buy...save your money and get a 250ml bottle at most
  18. just an accident waiting to happen to be honest, as for how impressive? hmm...maybe if you had been a little more composed
  19. If you want to find equivallent gear ratios: 18:15 = rear wheel turns 18 times for every 15 turns of the crank this works out as 1.2 turns of the rear wheel per turn of the crank (18 divided by 15) so in effect 18:15 can be written (in terms of ratios) as 1.2:1 When looking (if buying used and you dont have the option to specify the ratio) Divide the number of teeth on front chainring by the sprocket and you'll have your ratio If the answer is higher than 1.2 it will be easier to pedal than the 18:15 and vice versa
  20. +1 dont get me wrong, i do get why water/antifreeze does appeal and im sure it doesnt do harm to the brake...as a new rider though, i doubt id really reep the benefits just yet! the royal blood (as youd expect from the worlds leading rim brake company) is working well and feels good and that 5 year warranty is always a bonus as for anything else? im not sure how often youre meant to rebleed the hs33's, i think i read somewhere that it can be literally months between bleeds though at least...so for the mineral oil on tarty, we are talking about 11 pounds every 6 months or so...if that?! cost isnt really an issue here
  21. thats initially what i thought about hanging off it...but it didnt really come across as a joke in your reply did it?! you mentioned it could be to do with resolution of the screen...could be a suggestion to let people know what you use, and perhaps help people see your 3 hours of hard labour as for the topic itself...for somthing as important as cranks, unless the problem has arisen from an initial incorrect setup or a known manufacture problem with that particular item, id not bother with any sort of fix...repeated tightening of a screw thread beyond its recommended torque is surely not a good idea either...the recommendations are there for a reason id think. with the sorts of riding trials involves and the potential for injury if a crank all of a sudden gives way, i just dont think its worth the risk.
  22. surely you have answered your own question?! what are you confused about?
  23. again..it makes no sence?! not sure what you were trying to 'bring to the table' other than a peadofile joke, some random claim about an allen key and a validation vote for yourself at a guess, you weigh at least 50kg? so hanging of this pole would subject the allen key end of the pole to atleast 2 tons of shearing force....as well as the obvious forces on the pole... id have said +1 for effort, but anyone who does a 'good deed' and then tells the person about how much work it involved....to me just negates the whole point of trying to help anyway. matt is still to post pics for the experienced members to try and diagnose the problem as so much has been speculation due to matts very limited descriptions.
