  1. this reminds me of a post in the new members chat about wearing/notwearing shinguards, went somthing like; 'i dont know what you guys are going on about, it doesnt even hurt. infact me and my mates find it funny'
  2. haha...loving the brick wall post! for the time being, i think its a pretty hard call between the inspired and the czar. the inspired has obviously had alot of (comparative to other brands) media/advertising attention with danny mac, as a result its been much more in the trials public eye with plenty of reputable riders using them...this instantly creates a divide between those who dont mind going for the popular, and those who dont like to follow what can be seen as a trend and want to try somthing different the inspired frame has obviously had huge amounts of testing and everyday use (with riding well beyond what most of us are capable of) so it at least has the credibility of being well built. im not sure yet about the czar, it does look pretty solid..maybe even more so, but how well it holds up to day in / day out trials riding that weve all seen the inspired go through, ive no idea if it can be determined whether the frame is decent (from a purely strength and workmanship point of view) and can withstand the abuse...then im guessings its pretty much down to your tastes in which looks better and your budget.at the end of the day, when youre riding around and using the bike...who consiously thinks about whether it has horizontal dropouts or not (unless the setting up of them is a nightmare)
  3. ahh...all that time i thought the question was rhetorical! cheers though, just clicked
  4. hah aim going to have to look again...anyone able to point it out! im blind
  5. This topic could be moved, im not sure...but its trials related! As probably one of the most shallow riders here with reguards to how the bike looks (!) my mind is often wondering about colour schemes... Are there any programs anyone uses to help them with this?! And if so..how easy or hard is it to use? (to get good enough result to not need the use of much visual imagination) Im looking at being able to change things like rims/spokes to black from white for example, or a frame/fork/bar/stem etc to a different colour thanks for any help you guys can give!
  6. Hmmm...im thinking though... reguardless of how good the traction you can in theory get from the tyre to the snow (say for example the tyre sticks like glue to the snow), the resistance of the friction between the snow/ice and the actual surface in most cases will not be sufficient to with stand the shearing forces...
  7. where as i do like the idea of the best bike being my own...unless you have actually sampled every available bike/geometry/setup...its a claim you just cant make! its a pretty vague question to start with.....what is the best anything? take a car for example is the best the fastest accelerating? most expensive? best top speed? best at corners? most luxurious? best looking? the list goes on
  8. please;) though being serious....a design of sorts that deviates from the norm....id be curious to see what some people can come up with!
  9. very nice liking the turns on the rear wheel..and youre suprisingly smooth already!
  10. If youre going to post somthing, surely you are prepared to recieve negative feedback as well as positive? I dont think my comments were overly harsh, it does look like hes trying to run before he can walk...and could probably do with going back to basics before going bigger.
  11. everything was pretty rushed.....id say youd need to go back to basics a little, slow down...make sure you have your balance dialed on your back wheel, then progress back up again to bigger things seen a few of these vids, where it looks like the rider goes into epileptic fit before every pedal kick of sorts
  12. can i throw magnesium alloy into the picture here?! anyone aware of bike frames made of the stuff...or any other more exotic materials other than carbon/titanium edit* and with reguards to trials, if any of these materials have been used in any way with frames yet..
  13. what will be even lighter?! will the white sky on the same build simply defy physics and become weightless?!
  14. Im not 100% certain, but surely if a person is unsure about giving a hub a service...then its more than likely they are not compotent enough to carry out a full wheel build?! (after they get thier hub back obviously) +1 Matt for that comment
  15. Err....a Koxx white sky is 1.274kg and is reknown for being a very light frame The Onza Blade: 1.54kg The Onza Ice 2: 1.84kg The Onza Skull: 1.7kg (approx) The Onza Limey: 1.9kg So we are literally talking the difference of about 650grams at most between very light and not so light frames...right? If the onza bird complete bike is 11kg, using the same build with a koxx white sky, it will still be 10.4kg at least.... im sure you can see where im going with this, and the obvious flaw in trying to guess a frames weight from its complete build, and probably more important...at a relatively novice level, do you really think its somthing you'd notice?
  16. even if in theory the pins didnt bend, youd need to have pressure in the tyre pretty high just to keep the pins from being bushed back through the hole
  17. thanks, if youre going to be negative though..at least make sure your replys make sence the search button on here, or just a general browse will provide plenty of useful and insightful information to the world of trials. its ridiculous to expect a detailed reply to every question like this as there are soooooo many identical topics made all the time. try reading the new members information threads
  18. in which case he might want to ask a more specific question
  19. im 99% certain that you cant run the mags with a hope lever, somthing to do with the hope being an open system and the mags a closed? really wanted to do the same as im not liking the hs33 lever anywhere near as much as the hope. still...i wouldnt mind someone posting the theory behind it, im pretty curious.
  20. surely you posted this topic because you were actually hoping to fix the problem now?!
  21. noticed that the reviews for this stuff is great, but the pictures i could find just looked like regular braided hose?! any chance you could post a close up pic when you get a chance?
  22. no...dot fluids can be Glycol-based (DOT 3, 4, 5.1) or Silicone-based (DOT 5) dont quote me on this, but im 90 and a bit % sure that hope use 5.1 in factory
