yes - thats exactly the colour, the photo of his frame above the trophies shows it pretty much perfectly! ive no idea why it is seemingly impossible to find, but i'll keep looking looked through various ral and those other 'bs' number charts with nothing coming close at all...with lime green being being quite popular quite a few other areas recent (almost fashionable) im surprised this is the case!

may seem daft, im unsure if anyone has tried it...but how would an anodized frame hold up over time?! random thought...
-
thats my old bike there honestly, the difference in feeling in the bike was unbelieveable...completely changed it for the better in my opinion pause at 8seconds to see his setup pretty clearly...

thanks for the replys guys...liking the kawasaki green on the bike there it does look nice... will call those guys tomorrow and a load of others round the uk to see whats available...not too fussed about the price, it'll be on pretty much my dream bike so im wanting everything to be as spot on as possible. pretty much accepted i'll have to send it away somewhere and it'll be pushing 100 or so ive heard that 'proper' sprays these days if done by a pro paint shop can be harder wearing than your regular car paint alot of people use for diy jobs (ive done a frame myself and its holding up ok but does scratch quite easily, even with as much laquer as i put on)

I ran with 2cm for the best part of 18months with an inspired bar (on a hope 90x10 stem) Was going through a phase of practising bunny hops and after seeing some of ben rowlands vids, it got me curious to see how it would feel. put an additional 2cm of stackers on with a TT highrise bar and the difference was immense, completely changed the feel. manuals and bunnyhops were obviously alot easier with not being over the front as much. things on the back wheel (for me) became alot more stable, having alot more room made gaps easier to preload for...meant i could get further. i thought things on the front wheel may feel worse being further away from it, but that somehow felt nicer too...just about the angles i guess?

Does This Magura Slave Travel Look About Right?
chris4stars replied to dann2707's topic in Trials Chat
yes, looks very similar to mine -
Right...calling anyone with painting experience or anyone whos had their bike done in a similar colour... looking to get frame aand forks done in a nice lime green sort of colour, but it seems to be a nightmare finding somewhere who will powder coat in any shades of green remotely close to that?! similar to this (psycho lime but cant find anywhere that stocks it in the uk): My link1 My link2 Apparently its easier to find such shades if using regular spray paint, but i wouldnt think it has the same durability as powder? (keeping in mind im looking to get them proffesionally done, not a diy job) anyone with any experiences of companies who theyd recommend sending the frame to, or any experience of this sort of thing feel free to let me know

another vote for the hope brake here....had it on 2 years with not one problem i have had a play with a number of other monotrials though, and they havnt felt quite as nice...mine just seemed to feel a little 'bitier' never spent time setting it up, facing mounts, playing with shims or anything like that...its just been stuck on new forks and worked a treat...can imagine it will continue to do so for a good time to come

im sure i have some washers kicking about somewhere, plastic ones i think that came with v!z clamps...want me to post them to you?

cheers guys, thanks for the comments! all appreciated id agree, some trials type moves are pretty sketchy - still on a pretty steep learning curve, something to work on for the next vid though

Started riding 2 years ago now (hence the name), this has been filmed over the last few months Not yet in HD and i know quality isnt great...when i get a chance to edit the original HD clips i'll redo it Filming has been cut short by a broken rim, will be filming part two on the new Skye when its up and running. Lots of moves still to show, very few hops/drops/gaps and spinny things in this one...still, i hope its an enjoyable watch

What Are Your Wrists Like From Trials?

ah right cool - no i didnt say anything about low reps higher weights, my point was more directed against those saying that that is the way to build strength, and not high reps lower resistance the idea being that id like this guy to not feel pressured into pushing himself with higher weights, and as you say, potentially causing further injury on joints etc the wrist curls are a definate recommendation, with a low weight and 20 reps it poses very little strain on the joint itself (the first 10-15 on the first set or so will be deceivingly easy) ive not only worked and gone through various gym/physical qualifications myself, i do train to a pretty decent level and seem to be surrounded by friends who are much more in the know about this than myself. some of which have come through injuries and are pushing weights close to double anything that has been mentioned here we do obviously all share our experiences of what works/doesnt work, or what weve read up on, or what new piece of research has come out etc -
check out the for sale section - a lovely fourplay there that may be possible to travel overseas at the end of the month!!

What Are Your Wrists Like From Trials?

joking aside... if half an hour in the gym or at home with some makeshift weights/exercises (all that is needed if done properly for what he's needing) 3 times a week allows him to go out for an additional hour and a half on the bike...(or spend an hour and a half each week in less pain) then id say that was a very efficient use of time i know sore wrists stopped me riding for hours and hours when i had them * btw monkey, that comment wasnt directed at me was it?! -

read most of the topic, skipped the parts that got a little off track ive had really sore wrist pains before, to the point that some moves were just a no go. ive only ever ridden 24" street (lots of trials type moves too) with an inspired/tt highrise bar tilted back as much as the regular person. moves that hurt the most were when i was lifting and then pushing the front wheel forward when i was rolling up a wall or something along those lines. ive got a very active manual handling job, and im also very active in the gym...general muscle strength was no issue at all, wrists never posed a problem doing any of this, it was only with riding to the argument about low/high reps - whats good for one person isnt for another, even for building strength. my general sets go from 12-20 reps before i increase weight and that works perfectly fine for my body. its all about what suits you. the problem sorted itself after changing the brake position (bringing them closer to the horizontal) and doing some wrist specific exercises. the best for me being where you rest your forearms on a flat surface with hand hanging over the edge and do mini wrist curls (both palm up and palm down as if you were rev-ing a motorbike) 3 sets of 20 reps (enough to leave your wrists pumping and feeling pretty big afterwards!) worked a treat -
haha, that was brilliant...so much fun
-
ah great, so if i got the saint cranks without the ring/sprocket it would just transfer straight across easily enough? its a shame they didnt come as standard...same with the saint brakes that ive heard are amazing :/ must be a reason shimano didnt join the action in making this bike
-
is it just me or does the bashring look like its part of the cranks?! seems to be different to the standard one for sale...but maybe im being a bit blind looks sooo good though
-
im with revolver on this, thats a great idea another thing that hasnt come up which has surprised me is the lack of threats for legal action? laws on consumer rights, even for private sales protect us from this if you go down the right channels. if this guy had done this to me and id seen his previous feedback, i wouldnt think twice about potentially taking it to small claims and really pissing him off...would perhaps be a lesson learnt
-
if longer cranks feel too easy, why not change the gear ratio to something harder? you'll get the perk of it not feeling as bad and more power surely?
-
haha ok thanks, another change to make
-
grand - with what looks like black hoses too its a very cool look - expect my order soon! cheers
