    Hs33 Issue

I recently fitted some Heatsink CNC backed pads and they have been great, they are couple to a ground rim and have been awesome. I Pinched flatted my rear yesterday so had to take the wheel off to sort the flat but apon putting it back the brakes are naff! so i did the usual undo both sides, undo the tpa, line pads up (1 side at a time) make sure they are straight onto the rim then pull the lever slightly then nip them up. Spinning the wheel back wards i get the nice 'Chirp' sound but forwards and it just mush.... so i took the pads out again and then used brake cleaner on the rim, the back of the pads are slightly dirty but I just cant understand why they were purfect before removing the wheel. I even rode up and down the road to bed them back in but they are still mush, no chirp sound apon braking just a mushy sound. Should I lightly sand my pads? any other ideas... Pics of me bike just because I can

  8. Just got a replacement wheel for me single speed bike and put me new Trialtech sprocket on but the cassette seems to come away from the freehub body. Is this normal? Once the wheel is in place im sure it will be ok but just wanted to ask if this is meant to happen. I have pro 2's on my Orange 5 but have never had this issue. Also I bought a new chain Trialtech K810 Kool, 3/32'' but was wondering if theres a quick release link you can use thats like the sram power link ??
  9. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Sounds like a right pain in the arse but you got there
  10. Does the brake actually work? sounds to me like there is not enough fluid in the sytem or there is air in there. Time for a top up and bleed.

    Setting Up Bb7

Have you removed them? I did think this but those spacers form the CPS (caliper positioning system) so by removing them would render avids amazing positioning system useless. I run the Xt M775 on my other 2 mountain bikes and they dont have a CPS they just have left to right adjustment on the caliper/bracket and they are awesome.
  16. After contacting CRC they sent me the correct (front) 185 adapter. I have been able to install the brake. I have followed this set up http://howtosetuptheavidbb7.weebly.com/how-to-set-up-the-avid-bb7.html but there are 2 things that are puzzling me. Firstly the disc doesnt appear to be fully utiized (see picture) can other BB7 owners check the pad/disc contact. The second issue is centralising the disc and then tightening up the CPS bolts. Ive had avids before and I quite rate the CPS bolts but if you follow the instructions below the outer pad is already touching the disc so it seems as if my brake mount on the fork is in the wrong place/or bent!!!! "Use the pad adjustment knobs to back out the pads all the way. Now turn the inner pad adjuster all the way in as far as it will go (though don't force it). Then back out again by 10 clicks. Now turn the outer adjuster in until the caliper is locked against the brake disc. Tighten the caliper mounting bolts. The caliper will now be centred properly. If you have Avid Speed Dial levers you should now adjust the brake lever reach (always do this BEFORE you tighten the cable pinch bolt on the caliper). Now pull the cable tight and secure it with the cable pinch bolt. Now back out both the pad adjustment knobs all the way"
  17. I have the AM40 and Mp56's both awesome shoes for trials and XC... I did buy a pair of 5 10 Karvers but they had a funny instep on the outside of the shoe which my feet didnt get on with.. I wish they still made the Mp56's but they have been discountinued, you can buy the mp66 but they have a flap on the underside so that you can run SPD's which can get ripped off!
  18. Well this is disheartening, I just fitted an old xtr 950 that i had lying about ...... havent had a chance to ride yet.
  19. I was bought a mad 1.3 for my birthday and I have bought some bits to upgrade it. The avid BB7 185 I got from chainreaction doesnt appear to fit? is this because the fork is an odd shape? or am I being a MONG!!! I fitted countless other brakes to my other bikes (Orange 5 and On-One Inbred) and never had a problem. The disc doesnt sit inside the caliper, the adapter is the right way up as you can see from the pix, Any help or ideas greatly appreciated.
  20. CRC are brilliant, I have spent possibley 1000's on their site, I always recommend their site to friends and people I meet. Always excellent service but I have noticed that its not always next day delivery where as 8 months ago it always turned up next day. Long life CRC!
  21. Im going to attempt to build my 1st wheel but was wondering if its possible to use a 36 rear hub with a 32 spoked wheel? can the 4 remainding holes just be left empty? There doesnt appear to be an abundance of 36 spoked wheels.
