  1. interested in your tyres, are they both monty white lines?

  2. Such a shame this snapped. It was such a nice bike to ride.
  3. I'm 6ft and have ridden stock since i started riding. I've always struggled when riding a 20". I'm currently riding an Azonic DS-1 and am even finding this a bit too short! I'd say definately get a 26" wheel, you can always put a shorter or longer stem on to suit how you ride.
  4. I know it sounds stupid, but have you got all the parts that are pictured? If it's a sealed bearing one, you should be able to feel any play iand how rough they are once you've got them out.
  5. Like a lot of people on here, I've always used Magura HS33's. I'm currently trying to build up a cheap 26" at the moment so I can start up again. Ebay seems one of the best places for stuff. I've recently seen rear HS33's (will easily hold you with one finger) sell for as little as £20. As mentioned, the Avid BB7 is a brilliant brake for the money, it just needs a good lever to back it up. A lot of the cheaper discs are very hard to set up. I've worked in different bike shops for the last 11 years and seen so many come and go.
  6. As said above, use and old wheel, strip it, then rebuild it. There's also a book called "The Art of Wheelbuilding" by Gerd Schraner that's pretty useful. One thing I have learned from working in a bike shop for 10 years is that everyone has a different way of doing it.
  7. Hi, I'm Martin. I used to ride trials when I was about 14/15. I'm now 25 and i'm just getting back into it. I'm currently in the process of building a bike, mainly finding old bits in the shed and scouring the internet for cheap bits (that's how I came accross the forum). My set up so far is an Azonic DS-1, with Cannondale Fatty R forks, Magura Louise Disc's, Middleburn RS7 cranks, Hope Bulb hubs on Mavic rims, Azonic bars and IRC tyres. Still in need of a stem and a few other bits until I can get out again. My rig is going to be a bit more old school to what i've seen pictures of on here, but hopefully over time (and as I get a bit better!) i'll start upgrading! Thanks for reading!
