Use elastic bands all tied together instead of poles. If one elastic band breaks you can go get another and replace it for less than a penny but a pole is a little more expensive.
You cant tell by just holding it. You have to ride it on the bike so you know that you like the thickness and the feel.
I know you can't feel the trialtech grips but a lot of people use them and would reccomend them. You also dont get as bad sores like you do with rubber grips.
If its the original onza wheel; there's your problem. I have the same problem but i ordered a new wheel yesterday. The problem is the cones are loose but because of the crappy hub they dont stay tight.
Yeah.I dont know about the blues. But i went on my mates bike with coust pads and i was scared to do a pedal kick (because it was raining) but the brake worked better.
If you want advise on other pads look on the pad reviews thread.
EDIT: And about the squeek. You've probably buckeled the rim so you need to move the calipers out.
When you say hop i assume you mean log?? ... Lifting the front and then the rear.
All i can say is get some pallets and some wood. find your limit then go 1/2 an inch higher by putting some wood on the pallets.
Also if this is your limit you will just have to look at some videos and find a different technique.
