116 will result in a wheel less likely to have spokes snap, as the spokes are less angled. However saying this, the majority of rims made these days for trials feature offset spoke holes, reducing the risk of spokes snapping at the nipple end.

How long are you waiting after cleaning the rim before you ride it? If the pads are dirty and the rim is still wet after you have cleaned it, dirt will rub off of the pads onto the rim, negating the point of cleaning it Try using something like coca-cola instead of water as I find it has more cleaning power than water, but also goes sticky after a while, meaning you can get some monster braking power

I was always under the impression that the reach of the frame affected the ride more than the rake of the fork? This leaves me dazed and confused

So why don't you tell everyone what the theme is then, so we can help you out? As far as getting the song off of the internet into your audio editor, if on Mac you could use audio hijack (thats what I use and I think it does its job well) or use the built in recorder on Audacity if you run Windows. Assuming your computer has a sound card that allows you to do this, you can select 'Wave out', hit record and play the song on the website you found. The computer will record the sound internally, rather than through the microphone so the result will be pristine sound quality. Hope this helped
