  1. Or an old innertube and just wrap it around the chainstay and put cable ties on it.
  2. Well helicopter tape is pretty expensive compared to a bit of neopreme and velcro and its easier to take off rather that having tape rapped around you chainstay. So go for the Trialtech or any other chainstay protector.
  3. My commencal a few weeks ago now its got slx cranks and pedals.
  4. What about a onza zoot, its cheaper and proberly better i'd say even though the specs not as good.
  5. With some grease again, you don't need a tool to put it on but make sure you get one just incase you need to service it, just screw it on by hand as tight as you can then ride up a hill a few times or something like that.
  6. Clean the threads with a wire brush then put the grease on and spread it around the threads with your fingers, a good grease is weldite lithium or a pedros one.
  7. yeh it will be annoying if its cancelled, i don't have any snow where i live i think its because Arran's got the gulf stream going around it so it keeps the snowy weather away.
  8. There was a thing on the tv the other day about George Square and it said that there was a ceilidh there and it was cancelled.
  9. I have been thinking about this for a few days really, like you could have a fork with adjustable dropouts like the onza rear dropouts with a grub screw to adjust which length you want. I'm gonna grind these down abit more to make them abit more flush with the dropouts.
  10. I kind of did the opposite by putting two grinded down chain tugs on the fork, I'm not sure if it will be strong enough though.
  11. Arrans not got any snow yet so im guessing Glasgow hasn't either but its meant to snow on sunday night.
  12. Most of the time it seemed like they didn't know where they were going on the lines and just making it up as they went along still amazing riding though, your right they should take their brakes off.
  13. Get one with a sealed cartridge bearing it will last longer so it will save you money.
  14. There are few good ones, gusset and dmr single speed kits are good quality, also Tarty Bikes have just the seperate sprockets and spacers for your hub so you can pick your favourite style and weight also you'll need a lockring. Obviously you get what you pay for so go for the best one you can afford. This would be my list: Pro-Bolt Allo Trialtech Carbon Trialtech Race Splined
  15. I live in Brodick, i'll check it out there are loads of places to ride on Arran really you just have to find it.
  16. Taps, Gaps and Side hops (TGS) are generally harder on a 24inch bike with street geometry its do able but harder that a bike with geometry for this, hops and pedals kicks are basically the same really its just that you have to do them in a slightly different way. The brakes on the Zoot are good just get the rims grinded and some good pads, but if you want to spend a bit of money on Maguras or a Discs go for it it can't hurt. You will need new hubs though, just go for a front disc and either keep the V at the back or get a Magura rim brake and get a Disc wheel for the front.
  17. Thanks, I definitely will, I don't have anyone really to film me so i have to use a Gorilla Pod and most of these shots were done by putting my camera on top of a dustbin so I'm gonna get a good tall tripod, I'm just doing a re edit of this without all the bails and better transitions and when its a nicer day better riding.
  18. what is was meaning was that to lift the bike up like 10mm by putting spacers under the headset and take two spacers out from under the stem so the front wheel is further away from the frame, i was looking at the system ex it looks good, i find it wierd to do bunny hops and manual and i feel like im slouched of the front wheel most of the time.
  19. i don't think my steerer tube is long enough for a few more spacers so i'll try and find a high riser stem?
  20. Its because the fork is short, the headtube angle is steep. you might be able to see it here
  21. i'm thinking about getting the because i've noticed that they have a thicker wall on the steerer tube does this mean i have to get a differetn size star nut
  22. I don't think my forks have a tapered steerer it just had a think bit at the bottom by about 1mm for the crown race My link
  23. Yeh the bails were just there to fill gaps really, i think i rushed this edit a bit too much i just wanted to see what it looked like with my new camera. I need some bigger rocks aswell.
