  1. As much as i love my Effect I still wish I'd of gone for the Zoot frameset, as i built the Effect up its alot different to the standard bike but it has its niggles like derailleur hangers, rear disc brake tabs and quite thin paint so it chips really easily, go for the Zoot!
  2. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=23953 and there is one on tartybikes.
  3. Yeh well said, everyone should develope their own style of riding not be the new whoever it is. Also you can't really compare him to Danny Mac anyway both of them are pretty different a few of the same moves here and there but both have their own individual styles.
  4. Hope headset black, echo tr riser bars, echo tr platforms
  5. You can't really say he's the new Danny Mac cos Danny's still around doing better stuff than him, also correct me if I'm wrong that guys riding a 26inch which is a different style of riding really.
  6. Pedal threads are all the same 9/16 (except bmx ones which are 1/2). Tarty would of said if they didn't fit any of they pedals.
  7. I run 18-14 because i ride alot of natural stuff and the rocks around me are really grabby, but anything like 22-16, 23-17 is good for a 24inch.
  8. You almost took that guy out in 24 seconds. Nice video, loved the manuals.
  9. Check out Martyn Ashton's video guides it doesn't really tell you how to do it but it gives you a few ideas about the basics. http://www.youtube.com/user/MTBtrickscouk
  10. Same with me, i love riding natural stuff on my Effect and to do more streety moves on the rocks its hard but fun. I've never really tried bmxing, obviously it helps alot with spins and such it would proberly be a good idea to get a wee bmx for practicing moves that i can't do on my 24inch.
  11. Yeh he really needs a haircut aswell maybe then he will be able to do proper trials moves instead of doing bmx stuff on a mod (no offense to the guy but come on!).
  12. Yes it would be wise to convert to single speed, find a gear you like on your cassette and count the teeth you can get single speed converters like a gusset, dmr or trialtech, and either get a sprung or fixed tensioner. For the brake i'd stick with a cable disc brake and upgrade your current one to either a Avid bb5 or bb7 and a good solid lever like a Avid sd7.
  13. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?product_id=11230&category_id=50 Its a pretty good bike to on its own but you might want to change a few things like a stem, bars for your way of riding.
  14. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/media.php?group=guides&id=8 This pretty much covers it i think.
  15. Well apart from the tailwhips and bar spins, they would be bloody impossible to do with a massive stem.
  16. This guy is pretty much doing all the things you said on a mod
  17. I thought they looked like Ashton forks at a first glance.
  18. Cool on my birthday as well
  19. Its the same with i cannot ride with music maybe some street but riding natural stuff is impossible i just end up listening to the music instead of riding which can get destracting on grabby stuff. Just imagine yourself doing the move in your head and clear your mind of anything random. Like other people said its good to walk the thing your going to ride, if its a side hop or zap tap, jump from a stand still from two feet on to the object to see if you can get on it.
  20. Good starter 24ers are Ashton Effect and Onza Zoot or as eskimo said a 26er would also be good for the things you explained you want to do just look at Ali C's riding.
  21. I got my TA26 off Ebay aswell real good strong frame for £70 they are good to start on as they have a bashplate.
  22. Does anyone know when the Element comes out? Dave Cleaver was talking about it.
  23. I've got the same set up and mine were fine, what size is you thread on the revolver because you can get a small size for 15t on below and a bigger for 16t and above. Clean you threads
  24. What about an Echo SL ive got the 2009 one and they are really comfy and have a nice finish to them
