  1. The gearing is fine for me, i think its 22-18, but cant remember exactly, yes the chain is an old one!!!! i put the bike together after buying frame and forks, and the rest is old bits and bobs from years of random bike bit accumilation!!!! i suppose thr solution is to just buy a new chain!!! dam it...... cheers guys
  2. Hi guys, just wondering if there is a way of converting my tensioner from tensioning the chain down, to tensioning the chain up (to get more teeth engaging the chain on the rear sprocket. There is now more slack in the chain than when the pic was taken as i had a bigger front sprocket (24t) as i was waiting for my 22t to arrive. any help appreciated, Cheers PS Its made by superstar...........................
  3. When did you sell it? o bought one off ebay not too long ago (a few months) not long finished building it up, and im loving it!!!! she is a bit battered, but thats ok, its what you'd expect for something that age!! with a few bodges she's running nice and smooth!
  4. I have not been riding for more than 2/3 months since getting back into trials. I find that i have only ridden at home due to work and other things. My Fiancee lives 300 miles away, so between work and travelling to see the mrs and my family (also 300 miles away) i only ever get an hour here or there to ride, so its solo all the way for me!! Nothing to organise, just jump on and go!! I'm determined to get to barrow farm sometime soon as i live only a few miles away, but as im going to be a dad in 2 weeks, i think time is going to be VERY limited! As if all of this against me isn't enough to contend with i have a job where i travel the world frequently sometimes for periods of up to 5 weeks, so finding time really isn't easy!!! Maybe i'll magically find some time soon, but all i know is 24 hours isn't enough for one day, and 7 isn't enough days in a week!!!
  5. I put my bike together with some old parts from around home, and a dirt cheap, but heavily worn koxx LB (stock) frame. she weighs in at a whopping 13.5kg!!! what a beauty!
  6. Also make sure all the bolts are up tight,
  7. HA HA HA HA, nice!!!! you should try a little gamble now and again!!! you never know..... she might be clean!! ha ha ha
  8. meh, The guy wanted to try something he hadn't seeen before. nothing wrong with that!!!! i say hats off to him. it may turn out to be weaker and for hardly any weight saving. but hey, when did anyone ever achieve anything significant from "playing it safe!!!"
  9. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx about 3/4 of the way down on the right hand side is a link to a download for Image re sizer..... its the best program ever, once its downloaded you can right click any image and re size it to the size you want. so simple!!!
  10. https://www.parcel2go.com/parceldelivery-uk.aspx?serviceid=106#106 They never measure or weigh your package, DIRT CHEAP, and pickup from your house, only downside is that someone obviously needs to wait in to have it collected!!!
  11. or machine the groove after it has been welded
  12. I think its LHM, but not hundred percent, but was wondering if this is the same as any other lhm fluid or if it is specific LHM fluid? i can get LHM from work, but wasn't 100% sure if there was any variations of it or not
  13. i've finally had time to finish the build!!!!

  14. Hi, What brake fluid can i use for Clim8 6pot brakes and where can i get it? Do they bleed in the same way you would bleed car brakes? or do i need a bleed kit? And before everyone tells me to replace the brakes because they suck.... i already know this bit cant afford to replace them so im going to have to soldier on with them!! Cheers guys
  15. Thanks....... now i'm going to feel dirty every time i ride my koxx
  16. Awesome!!! Sorry but wont make it there this weekend..... Work is sending me to finland for the weekend ill try and get down there next weekend though........ really itching to get riding now!!! I'm not very good mind, but cant wait to try out some new things!
  17. Hey sorry for the really slow reply!!! I live in Stow maries just outside SWF!!!!! i've almost finished building my bike now, been delayed due to work!!! Got to pop back home to west wales this weekend, but as long as i get the bike up and running i'd love to meet some local riders the weekend after (22nd/23rd) if you're free. Is there any good spots to be had locally or not? Cheers
  18. This comment is one not seen often enough. Trials is about gettin out there, riding to the limits of YOUR ability, not bout what anyone else does or how anyone else does things!!!! I used to have an x-tort!!!! what a beast, bought it in 2003, i only remember this because its says it on the forks!!!! before that i got into trials on an old xc saracen max-trax, (18" frame) im just getting back into trials now, and have almost finished building up my Koxx LB. I live in essex too so would like to meet some local riders at some point when my bike is built up.
  19. Hey guys, Thanks for clearing that up for me, I now have the bike part built and just about rideable!!! So i have had a little test ride with the brakes on. They seem to hold well and are easy to control for pedalkicks, so for now i think ill stick with them!!! More than likely i will smash them at somepoint, ill just cross that bridge when i get there!!! Ideally i would use maggies, but the Maggie mount on the rear is F****D!!!!! and have disk only forks!!! Guess when buying a bike on the cheap you have to make these sacrifices!!!! Thanks again guys Ryan
  20. Hey there guys, I have just bought myself a set of Clim8 6pot disk brakes with 8" rotors. They look like good brakes for trials as they will have plenty of stopping and holding power without having to put in too much effort on the lever. They also have 3 different diameter pistons on each side, so the brakes can be applied gradually by(the smallest first). These both seem like good features, and they were cheap as chips, so i went ahead and bought them. I am just wondering will there be any drawbacks from these brakes other than the obvious weight penalty? Thanks in advance Ryan
  21. Hey guys, just been researching and found out im quite close to Barrow farm..... Cant beleive how lucky i am!!! cant wait to get the bike built up next week now and get riding!! Have any of you guys been there? is it as good as it looks?
  22. Hey up adam,

  23. i'll see what happens!!! think tubeless tyres are out the window mind!!!! http://www.alcyon.co.in/case.studies/Wheel_Rim_results.png check out this pic, there are hardly any stresses on the sidewall of the rim, so it wouldn't compromise the rim integrity at all really!!! might just go all out!!! i think it would look smart if the sidewall holes were countersunk too, 4mm holes maybe.
