Yeh I think they'll be XT shifters, someones offered me some 'M750 Shimano XT 9spd shifters‏' for £30, he says they're in good condition, does that sound ok? EDIT: Just brought them anyway! God knows what my parents are going to say about all this new stuff :|

They're just the standard Deore shifters that it came with. I was only really debating a new deraillur as there is one on Ebay which looks as if it wont be going up in price at all, £15 for a new Deore Deraillur seems pretty good if I do need a new one!

Thanks for all your help I've just brought that cassette, chain and a middle chain ring! Yet more questions... When I took my bike to a bike shop for some repairs (I massively regret that now, I could have done it for a fifth of the price ) In the advisory bit, they mentioned my rear mech being bent (Not the hanger) and said replacing that could improve gear performance. I've put up some pictures to try and illustrate this, will getting a new mech make a dramatic difference? At the moment my gears require a lot of force to change down and it has to be done a few at a time rather than being able to click down one each time, but is this just due to crap cables/ cassette/ chain etc?

What number of teeth would be the best/ give the best range on the cassette? And could I just replace the middle chain ring as thats the one I use 70% of the time?

I imagine the chain hasn't been changed since 2006, 1% wear would be a bit optimistic What would be the cheapest (Without just having pure shite bits)of getting a new cassette / chain rings / chain? And are there any gear cable kits that anyone would recommended?

Thats something Im looking to change since my current ones are pretty knackered, any you could suggest?

Im in the process of buying a full sus frame in the aim of swapping over the bits from my Kona. http://www.moredirt.co.uk/ratebike.php?id=24453 Will this be a (Relatively) simple swap? Im assuming I will need to get a longer rear hose and new gear cables, is there anything else?

He reckons that they're covered, but he cant find out from the insurers until Monday because it's not classed as an emergency :\ Fingers crossed though

My mates shed was broken into last night and had 3 bikes nicked He's in the Derby area (Melbourne) If anyone happens to see them around... Specialized Pitch Comp (Same except it now has Wellgo platform pedals) Zona Zip (Now has a new handlebar setup which is the same as in the first picture of my bike, which is in my sig) And finally a Saracen Mantra 2 (Not a picture of his, the only difference being a wireless speedo) Looks as if they're planning on coming back too, they took the bolts of another shed door however didn't take anything from there, absolutely gutted for him. Especially as he'll be able to ride in a few weeks after having a massive operation There were also some garden things (Lawnmowers, hedge trimmers etc) But obviously they aren't quite so distinctive... I know its unlikely, but if anyone spots any of these/ has any information could you drop me a PM.

The stem (after a long wait) is now on with a new spacer I would love to test it properly, however the guy who's garden i ride in/ with has gone and had had major surgery. Selfish, I know.

New parts, new pics! Just added some Onza risers and knicked my mates stem. Feels much better now with the higher front end This does however mean he's without a stem so I need to get myself one quick time. Any offers?
