Evidently it's not beneath your level as you can't/don't do it. I find it fun to mix up power moves with more techy stuff. Tends to help me out a lot more when I need it. So attack it with an "I need to do this" attitude as opposed to an "I'll give it a go but it'll be boring" one.

Don't do the clamp up so tight. It won't "randomly" just snap, and when you land on/hit the lever it'll move and not break. Problem solved

You're doing something wrong somewhere if you're breaking magura levers frequently.

This. I ground once and left a bit of a burr on about a 1/4 of the rim. It'd pinch whenever I'd land on it. Now I run an Echo 07 rim with a tryall tyre and it's awesome. Hardly ever pinch. Bit on the heavy side though.
