I prefer hydraulic, lighter feel, Ive got a hope tech lever, and on the fly bite and reach adjustment is just awesome.
But ive heard ALOT of good reviews about the BB7
I found this. When clamping the hose down and gently tapping in the barb (as your ment to), the hose cracks.
So if you gently heat the hose (with a lighter, for a few seconds) then tap it in, works a treat
depends on the condition of it.
I brought my hope mono trial for £100, was 2nd hand but un-used (guy brought it off ebay but it didnt fit his bike).
Included full fitting kit, rotor, braided and platic hose (long enough for rear)

I just filled down my Echo SL Axle Bolt Washers to remove the pocket (so they're just flat washers) to save....
