  1. But when you release a tv show in America you want the audience to identify with the characters, not many people in America would have any idea where Leicestershire is. Also nothing interesting happens in Leicestershire so flashbacks would also be lame to the max.
  2. It would kind of suck trying to introduce a character from somewhere more random though? Next week on Lost find out why Terry from Chipping Norton is on the Island in his epic flashbacks. Actually it sounds awesome.
  3. Basically, to sum up what has been concluded by this thread, I would say that you can't like mainstream music because it's gay and it makes you look gay. The solution to this is to name only the most obscure extreme music you can, namedrop some unheard of bands, and profit.
  4. Brain Drill are very bland and uninspired grindcore. Sure, their drummer is pretty ridiculous, but song wise they have very little talent, and their are much, much much, much, much better drummers out there. Good tech metal is Sikth, Meshuggah, Psyopus, Protest The Hero, Periphery, Car Bomb and Architects. All of these bands are ridiculously talented and all have incredible albums under their belt.
  5. Change the bass drum sound, it's too muted. Also the snare sound still isn't good enough. The hats are also pretty bad, maybe try them with a bit more of an open sound in the more energetic parts. How proficient are you at writing drums? Me personally, I like drums in electronic music to be very technical. Something that a normal drummer couldn't play. TO me it sounds like it needs more snare rushes and ting. The drum parts sabrepulse uses are awesome, in my opinion. But he doesn't have his best songs on myspace unfortunately. Sabrepulse Note the way he uses very very quick rushes on the snare and hats to make sounds that don't sound like they are from drums. Also note his panning techniques, which are awesome.
  6. Yes, leave us real men in the girl trouble thread alone!
  7. I'm glad we now have a place to put all our funnies shit.
  8. yEaH dUdE iT's SwEeT.
  9. Behold the thread of win. You must do this. GIVE ME THIS SOFTWARE OF WHICH YOU SPEAK.
  10. Limited amount of things musicians can do? What are you talking about, that's like saying art is limited to what you can do. I think the reason you find modern music stale is a negative view of change, if you could get around that I am 100% sure you can find modern bands you like. Broaden your horizons and learn to appreciate progression, because it's what makes music incredible.
  11. Better to go with something cheap and thoughtful. There is no way that she is going to say, 'THIS IS NOT EXPENSIVE ENOUGH TO WARRANT ANOTHER RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU', so that way if it doesn't work you can save the money to buy yourself and ipod and use it as a lethal, but ironic, weapon. An ipod to the face is the last thing she will be expecting.
  12. I honestly think that people who are saying they hate modern music are insane, and need to actually listen to modern music. People who call things like metal 'screaming music' are looking in the wrong places, sure lets take a band who have a very powerful approach with all their vocals - Meshuggah. To you it probably sounds terrible because of the vocals, sure, valid opinion. I personally don't like Oasis's vocals. Meshuggah write very technical heavy music, each individual (as a musician) has spent years and years practising music of all types to come up with the music that is quite possibly the among the most critically acclaimed in the modern technical music world. If you don't like a song because of the vocals, then try to appreciate it for the other facets it has, the melody, the musicianship, the creativity. I like all types of music, literally all types, the bands that I like are going to be the people that connect most with me as a person, and what my interests are. I think people too quickly disregard music because there is something they instantly dislike in a song, and can't handle it and say it's shit purely because they are not accepting it for what it is. People who say their music taste is the best and then go and pidgeon-hole themselves into a very closed off genre or time are pretty ridiculous. Anyway, my music taste is the best. So in your face, everyone else, get with the program.
  13. Yes, he was BURIED ALIVE. The black smoke is a security system for something, we don't know what. By the children what do you mean? The children that were seen by Jin very early in season 1 (the ones carrying the teddies?) He died from his injuries sustained in the plane with eko's brother and heroin in it.
  14. No. Because they were BURIED ALIVE.
  15. Incorrect, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is his top game.
  16. NOT UNTIL YOU GOT YOUR RACIST HANDS ALL OVER IT!!!1

    I Am Legend

The alternate ending was quite a bit better, being that it was closer to the book's ending (albiet not close enough). At least it made something of the night walkers/zombies/vampires (whatever) being intelligent rather than just building it up in the film for no reason whatsoever.
  18. Unfortunately the Director is Paul Anderson, so the film will be beyond terrible. He f**ked up writing Aliens Vs Predator and Resident Evil so bad.

    Guitar Noob..

Well what music do you like?
  20. Did anyone else use to have wild fantasies about weather they would ever make giant sized creme eggs properly filled with all the cream and everything?
  21. Whatever you want baby. Unless you want to make a thread about classical music used in tv shows? I didn't think so.
  22. Ah yes, Michael Kamen is awesome. He also did the Band of Brothers score, which was the incredible, as well as writing and conducting the entire orchestral part of Metallica's S&M - again, incredible.
