Thanks for all the help guys, i think i will mix it up with some swimming, running and cycling to keep it fun avoiding the cardio becoming a chore

Thanks for all the info, you've been a great help Jonny

Thanks for the reply Jonny, my main aim of my cardio is to keep fit in general alongside doing weights. So there is no real aim of the cardio other than i would like to be able to fight and ride for longer at a better level and have a higher standard of health in general. I will still be doing weights just not at the gym as i plan on making some from some steel bar with some interchangeable sized pieced of metal to go on either side. Overall the weights are the most important aspect to me but i was reading that i need both to reap the full benefits. Got any tips for running? Does riding long distance on a mtb on the roads work just aswell? EDIT - Are there any alternative to protein shakes as my mum won't let me buy any over the net (cant afford high street prices) as her brother took body building too far when he was my age and used alot of these sort of substances and had raw egg with nearly everything. Will be training in the gym with him next year as he has unfortunately suffered a severe case of guillain barre syndrome and has lost all his muscle and no has the strength of an 10year old atm

HI, First post in this thread but i am in need of some cardio help My main problem is i hate running as i am exhausted after minutes but i can cycle for a good while on the bike (an hour atleast) in the gym but now the winter is coming i won't be attending the gym as often but i will be doing it at home after dark as i would like to make the most of the light to ride trials (one of the reasons i am doing this) so what are some cardio alternatives that are out of the gym and wont cost me much such as a low cost hobby i could take up? Adam.

Trialsparts.net sell bionic stuff and im pretty sure trials addict could source you one aswell. But if i were you i wouldn't go for the newer bionic b5r 2012 as it hasn't got a very good quality control eg most of the gussets are welded on the piss (gussets at the headtube and the gussets where the top tube meets the chainstays). But what can you expect for a frame under £200? Overall this is a very solid frame and i would most likely buy another! This is the one i have -

Exactly what i was thinking, great minds think alike

Any of the hope trial range will work aswell.

Just what you want t see when you have just moved from a pro 2 to a SL Must just be a one of or he landed on it allot!

Everything hardcoated black (very strong type of anodizing used by the military ect) with gold bolts would look ace. Or even better a full kit of stans finishing kit! If you really wanted to you could easily do the hardcoating at home to a professional standard the only problem is finding a container big enough for various bike parts.

Sound interesting, defiantly gonna give this a go once our milling machine is up and running!

Pictures?

Thanks, it was the nicest bike ive ever rode and im happy to have helped

Only picture i could find but you can see that the downtube protector is in pretty good nick even after loads of hard hits from failed pedal ups ect. Wish i could say the same for the frame. Also used the rest of the silicone to stick some reinforced pipe to the chainstays to prevent damage as i was riding the local skate park (its a super pathetic park but better than nothing ) as it is only round the corner and the right angled coping was eating my frame away. It also works well aslong as you cut the tube correctly!

It will stick with no problems along as you let the glue dry as i found it takes at least a week as you will need to use quite abit of glue to enable a small bit of flex so it can fit round the bash mount. Once dried it should be fine though. You may also need to file the bash mount down abit depending on how much it sticks out, had to do this to my 2011 echo lite. Tell a lie i actually removed mine which left a hole in the frame but it was covered by a huge guest so it was fine . Easy enough with a course b*****d file so no grinder ect needed. Edit - I suppose if you really wanted to you could key the plastic and the frame with some light emery but the silicone sticks with no problems. You will also need to fill the ends with silicone once the zip ties are removed as it looks better and prevents water getting in. Forgot to mention you will need to use Heavy duty zip ties as normal ones snap under the pressure and they cant be tightened enough aswell with extra round the bash mount. May want to add some glue to the edges of the zip ties just to stop the moving.

Nice to see im not the only one who uses a piece of PVC pipe for a downtube protector! Get rid of that foam and the zip ties and glue it on with some silicone sealant. Put loads of sealant in as it will act like the foam you are using now. Hold it on with a few heavy duty zip ties until it dries (take about a week) with a 2/3 cm gap in between each one. Lovely bike as well EDIT - It wont snap either mine out lasted my frame!

Plain warm water, rag and a scrubbing brush will do the job to a certain extent as i was in the same situation as you when i spilt oil all over out patio. As long as the oil was clean and not dirty eg the old oil out of the brake, it will come out as it isn't so much the oil that stains its the crap in it.
-
Brake slip or what? Hope your ok

How long do these shoes last as im very interested in getting a riding specific shoe.

165 is the best of both worlds in my opinion. Recently been riding brakeless and have been doing alot of rolling moves and it feels fine. Spins very well aswell as im not far of 360s flat Get a 165x35 and you wont regret it!
-
I have the same frame myself and i run a trialtech stem - 165x35 and it feels perfect with low rise trialtech bars rolled back. Although i feel that a try-all stem may be better suited as the frame is a replica of a Sky 2 for pure trials.

If i were you id leave it but you could probably save a good amount of weight without carbon forks that imo will hinder you as you will be worried bout hitting them constantly! New rims Ti spokes Rear hub alloy/Ti bolts Cut the tyres New forks - not karbons. Ti bashring Get a Drill!

# And you haven't already?!?! But seriously i can not wait until your next vid! Gotta be one of my favorite riders at this time!

I'm no expert as ive never built a wheel my self but i think it will need to be moved towards the disc side as the flange has been moved inwards to compensate for the rotor and the tabs unlike a non disc wheel where you would have the rim in the middle of the flanges.
