Why not drill a hole in the top cap or even better get one of the gusset starnuts.
-
Not sure if this is do able but maybe you could source some bearings (may need to get them made to order) the same od as the id as the bb shell minus the threads give and take abot as you could bore it out a bit allowing you use a diferent style of cranks such as the middleburn rs8 crank or shimano saint but if you really want to splach out you could maybe get away with a bmx cranks with a custom sprocket made by zodiac. The only other option i can see is talking to jaff bikes to see of he can make a outboard bb that will press fit into your bb shell (the same width as the currently made bb from the manufacture that are going to buy the cranks from eg shimano saint cranks you will need to use the same width ect as the shimano bb) like a headset in a headtube with you bearings of choice ( id go for the same dimensions as shimano would use). This is most likely going to work better than the above idea but rather pricey but i suppose its worth it if you don't wanna change your frames. EDIT- or adding to the second idea you could have it so the cups slide in but thread together in the middle pulling every thing together.

Not a very clever move and even so is that really worth 3days riding? You've also ruined any chances of getting any warranty on those forks.

How-To Section?
bike_dummie replied to hypermobilty's topic in Trials-Forum News, Updates & Suggestions
Never knew about the wiki page but it would still be pretty cool if we had sort of a sub section or a link to the wiki page as I'm sure not everyone knows of the wiki page and if you would copy some over that would be great -
If I had to choose one rider it's got to be Sean Watson purely just for the fact he is so unique a creative when he rides. But if your one of those people who disagree with the fact that he's a trials rider it has to be flipp or TRA bit only since he got the inspired as I never like his style on his previous bikes as imo it was a bit boring. Would have put Chris akrigg right up there but I respect him more as a mountain biker.

How-To Section?
bike_dummie replied to hypermobilty's topic in Trials-Forum News, Updates & Suggestions
Could we not have a section dedicated to the other side of trials like maintaining and 'how to' guides. As I for one found you tube and google don't have all the answers (believe it or not ) especially for trials specific stuff as it is a rather small sport. By guides I mean detailed explanations such as Adams guide to the New maguras or your guide to servicing a tensile and I know of many more that have just gotten lost within the forum amongst many other threads that prove to be no help in many cases. The guides should also need to be approved by mods and locked to prevent comments keeping it un-cluttered and if there is a good idea to be added the person who wrote the guide could add it in maybe? This could also be good for manufactures to post up guides ect on how to maintain thier products. For example people say hope brakes go down hill after a while but this is just because they dont know how to maintain them properly imo. But in the end its just an idea to think about ,Adam. -
A new chain and sprockets can cause a clicking noise.

As you pull the lever the fluid will seep back past the piston and into the reservoir once the pads have made contact with the rotor (or any other resistance) resulting in no power or pressure causing the spongyness.
-
Are all the fittings ect done up tight such as the banjo, bore cap and the rest of the fittings? Does the brake become worse over time and end up with crap on the rotor, if so you will probably need to replace the seals in the caliper. If not then it may be leaking on itself inside which can cause loss of pressure but no sign of leaking fluid. If it is leaking on its self it is best to send it of to hope to replace all the seals and they will give it a proper service.

That is just one of the ways companies use to prevent numbness and the most common as it is most probably cost efficient.
-
If I remember right you will also need a seat that has a hole/dip on the part that goes in between your legs as there's veins or something there and a badly designed saddle, padded or not, will stop circulation causing your legs to get tired quicker and start to feel numb over long distance.

I found that my hopes had bucket loads of hold where as my hs33 and my mates echo disc brakes had more bite but not as much hold so I suppose it's all down to personal preference in the end.
-
Trials addict will most likely have the 2012 urbans in disc mounts. If they don't message Ben and I'm sure he could order you some in did it for.me for a try all tyre . Also 2 of my mates have the new urbans for a good while now and they've stayed black.

Don't buy cheap tools and bolts as they can do more harm than good.

Isopropanol alcohol is better in my experience as I've always found methylated spirits always leave a slight residue not much but some. What I normally do is I submerge the rotor is hydras sprint for about 5-8 hours (no longer or the sprint will eat away at your disc) taking it out every now and then to give it a good clean with a cleaning brush (medium) depending on how bad it is. After 5-8 hours thoroughly clean your rotor with running water as the hydras sprint will go like soap, again if you can brush scrub the rotor with a medium cleaning brush if you have more then one (don't use the same brush you used for the sprint earlier). Once you've thoroughly cleaned your rotor you will need to submerge your rotor in isopropanol alcohol for in my opinion 24hours making sure you have a lid over your container otherwise you will have none left by the morning as it will have all evaporated (flip the rotor over after 12hours). After 24hours take the rotor out of the isopropanal and just leave it on a clean surface for the alcohol to evaporate.

How often were you riding before as you may just need to get used to riding more? IMO just man up and ride it out and wait for your muscles and joints to strengthen up to the strains of riding everyday or if you want to speed the process up maybe do some light weights ect.
-
If you've got money to burn and and want a light brake have you considered a formula one?
-
I had this idea not long ago and you would land in the same place if you can hold your balance Done and tested on the bus while I was half asleep.
-
Those levers are very flexey, someone posted a thread on these a while ago. I'd get and avid or shimano lever or if you get hopes get a hope mono trial or a tech trial brake. Shimano saints are very good as well if you don't wanna get a hope.

Ben/trials addict can order near to everything in next day so send him message.face book is probably easiest for both of you.
-
You will need an echo sprocket (one with centered teeth) to correct the chainline. I had the exact same problem with my echo as the chain was starting to wear away my chain stay slightly.
-
You just need to service them every now and then with a rebuild + new bleed making sure there's a good coat of high quality brake grease and clean everything up with new seals etc aswell and watch out for any stuck pistols ect and sort it out asap.

Could you not try another hospital with a less primitive system?
-
Why not ask the hospital is you can use the thing for a week and return back to the hospital one a day as that way your problem is bound to happen? I hope you get this all sorted mate! Edit: My mum has a problem sorta like yours, my mums sight will got like yours with black dots and became rather disey, the doctor said it was 'manieres'.

I found my hope trial rotor was awful, I'm currently running a tektro 160mm rotor with very contained pads and it will never slip even on bottom edge!
