  1. The other threaded part is for another freewheel for example if one side becomes stripped you can still use the wheel. I suppose you you could make an adaptor, dmr once had a hub with a screw on disc mount all depends on what way your threads are going. < correct me if im wrong.
  2. fixed is horrible, nearly everyone will have a freewheeling trials bike. just people use a freewheel on the front and a fixed sprocket on the back to get a smaller ratio. Also being able to pedal backward wont make it easier, you can do it on a freewheeling bike by shifting your Wieght from the front to back.
  3. Atomb labs have 60mm of travel. hereMy link
  4. I used insulation tape on mine never slipped once. Make sure you use loads as when it compresses it will squash in to the holes of you stem presuming you have some.
  5. I had nothing but problems with mine although it was the t10 the 26" version , forks (steel) snapped(using a booster), chain kept coming off, all the engagements failed the list caries on. Also the geo was horrible for trials making it extremely hard.Never even rode it that hard most I did was ride up and down a few curbs. Avoid this bike at all costs!
  6. This sort of thing usually happens due to dead bearings, you will need to take them out as they may have gone either side. You did take them out when you painted the hub right?
  7. would you consider second hand hopes go for roughly £70?
  8. wiggle have a pretty good deal on a mad phase which is a very good starter bike and with no needs for upgrades too soon.
  9. I think he means the disc brake, but if not i find my tr lever on magura slaves is great, it is either on or off not spongy at all.
  10. Are your cranks new they may just need bedding in, tighten your cranks up every 30mins for a week if not do what wozz has suggested.
  11. Isnt this meant to be in trials chat?
  12. Front - Circus Monkey HDW ( these are exactly the same as RockMan Front Disc Hub There was a recent topic on this aswell rockman are bastards if i remeber rightly ) Rear - with the money you save you could try and stretch to a echo sl rear? if not i would highly recommend a rockman bub hub, i personally and other people i know use this hub with minimal issues.
  13. Are you sure there not meant to be like that with the back sweep ect, is it the same on both sides?
  14. Wouldn't have thought you could fit chain stay protector around the frame?
  15. Perfect for a weight weenie! But surely chain slap would be a problem?
  16. i presume its isis not a taper. A taper is where your cranks attach to your bb is a square. As seen in the linked picture, link A spline is the same principle as the square but it has splines the spiky bit on the outside instead of the taper, link theres also a tarty video guide on this here.
  17. This usually happens when the splines have worn in a certain way then you take them off and dont put them back on the same splines. Also try a a bit of loctite on the crank bolts and make sure you tighten the cranks avery 10 mins or so when riding.
  18. 25" would have been pretty good in more than just trials if it had ever picked
  19. people prefer the feel of water at the lever but i prefer oil but its personal opinion.
  20. yep, they just unscrew. I Also had problems with mine being rounded so I used mole grips.
  21. I dont think it would be the bolt bottoming out as the spindle is one long tube ( well at least my one is TrialTech sport lite). ride it to loosen it with the bolt done up tight then try again later on or maybe hit it on with a copper mallet forcing it down? Other than that i dont know sorry.
  22. The phases's are very good beginner bikes, Also it all depends on what you want, As the phase is made for trials it will be better for proper trials but as the zoot is more of a streety bike for the bmx style like spins and the like but will make the more trialsy moves harder. The zoot is defiantly worth its price as it is a great spec for the money, but if you do choose it i would upgrade the brakes and chain tugs. Adam
  23. not too sure what you mean but the crank isn't meant to cover the whole of the spline.
  24. Ok... might just stick with an ffw with my sl.
