  1. £40!!! i got my mod frame and forks shot-blasted and powder-coated green and white for £30 at colorcote in norfolk. £40 is abit steep in my opinion.
  2. i would put bolts in the mounts etc and maybe an old BB if you have one. (though i did neither of these) are you getting it powdercoated of just having it blasted to keep raw? if your keeping it raw... when you get it back make sure you thoroughly clean out all the threads before putting the BB etc in. shotblasting is fine on an aluminium frame. and the finish will be fine for ages, it wont oxidise cos its aluminium not steel. hope this helps.
  3. g-turn? this is probably one of the worst tutorial vids ever made..
  4. i emailed a couple of days ago but nothing.. hmm.. :/
  5. yeah thats what i was thinking. and if you click postage etc, nothing comes up. anyone know if sl rims are still around?
  6. yeah basically just buy one of those gusset top caps as above. (£5 from tartys) get a new brake cable, run the new one to the rear brake making sure you have enough cable slack to turn the bars once or twice, then use the old rear cable to run on the front, run it through the stem and jobs a good un'. by the way if your still running a v brake on the front it will be hard to do the cable through the stem idea, just because the brake is so close to the top of the forks. i ran a disc and it was way better,
  7. nice man, when you coming to ride norwich then fella?
  8. http://www.biketrialseller.com/product/550 wanting an sl front rim in silver for my echo 24". anyone used this company or anyone know where i can get an SL rim? carl.
  9. yeah i swapped to an onza sealed disc front hub, the original is open bearings. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/front_disc_hubs/onza_sealed_disc_front/c20p10317.html its easy to change the hub if you know how to lace wheels and true etc. but you can learn that easily. i was still learning when i had my zoot but i thought it was awesome. i learnt how to pedal kick within the first month of riding, and it was good for learning footjams and 180's etc. id recommend it for a first bike, but i snapped my frame after 3 months. however it was about a year old.
  10. shwalbe big betty kenda blue groove maxxis high roller ??
  11. id go for echo frame, echo urban or trialtech forks, inspired or echo platform pedals, tnn lgm pads on rear. unsure of front pads as i run disc. thats what i have and its epic.
  12. theyre good, upgrade chain!!! the standard one is like a rubber band. and it WILL snap. i ran avid sd7's with inspired pads on the rear and a bb5 on the front (onza sealed hub) little things like trialtech foam grips, trialtech stem and better pedals. also a fatter tyre on the front, sealed headset oh and a v booster. thats what i had and it was pretty damn good.
  13. practice, lower the front end more and really stomp on your forward pedal whilst thrusting yourself forward.
  14. i didnt even realise i was landing switch! i was wondering why the pedals were spinning sometimes when I go for the whip. and i was trying it brakeless but i'm running the wide echo urban forks and my foot keeps getting stuck between the forks. ill have another pop at it tomorrow and see if I can get better. cheers for all your advice ali.
  15. You manage to get a disk frame and forks yet alex?
  16. alright cheers fellas, i've nailed about 15, but attempted about 500, haha. ill try leaning forward a bit more tomorrow. also even i've noticed that I don't look at the pedals 100% of the time. ill get another vid tomorrow maybe. Thanks guys.
  17. crap editing i know. ok so the next day... bit better, I landed another 2 but the camera fell over and I got a nice view of the sky.
  18. ahh nice, it looks awesome and completely unique. maybe more orange on the bike?
  19. I would just percivere (spelling?) and eventually they will get better. get them set up, leave them alone and keep your grind sharp. also make sure that the pad surface isn't covered with aluminium off your rim.
  20. i sent my forks to tartybikes. cost £8 plus postage worked out at like £15, well worth it in my opinion. ill do the water thing tomorrow cheers mate.
  21. alright so ive just got my forks faced, bought a nice new rotor and new hope pro pads. everythings set up sweet and bled perfect but the pads need some serious wearing in. so whats the best way? just ride with the brake on? someone said to put water on the pads then ride?? advice for bedding in fast please? Cheers in advance! Carl.
  22. love it mate! i have a sneaky suspicion that those pedals are going to snap and that rear tyre has a good potential for popping.
