nice one, it was only a 20 minute session but i must have slipped off about 15-20 times. didn't do a lot for the confidence but it should get better after a good sesh! cheers guys!

i have a monty eagle claw rear tyre on my mod, did a few pedal ups today onto a wall about 2 feet high, small stuff to get the feel for the bike etc. when i landed on top of the wall on the brick the brake has the wheel but the tyre skids really easy on the brick??! is this a shite tyre? or because its new has it just got to wear in etc? my holy rollers on my echo 24 stick to any brick they touch. so i was a bit disappointed in the skiddage on the mod lol.

hey man, i think you should go for a mod, personally im from a downhill background and i ride a 24 but mods are great. i just built one and will be on that pretty soon. they feel way more compy to me. plus you can pick up a good t-pro for £200ish then £100 for upgrades? or if your a fast learner you could go for something at the top end of your budget which will be a bit lighter. the only reason i have said nothing about 26" bikes is that i have absoloutly no idea about them, never ridden one. a 24" echo lite is good compy bike though. hope this helps.

i've bled it according to the hope guide and rolled on the diaphragm etc, i thought it was pretty good but i may get tarty's to do it soon. anther problem i have is that the mount has been faced and i dont think its 100% straight, when its all bolted on the caliper will pull the rotor away from the wheel (bending it) so ive had to stick some spacers in to move the caliper in to the wheel a little, the rotor is pretty well in between the pads etc. i guess it must be the bleed, the brake holds the wheel very well, its just the lever has to come in a long way before it grabs it.

added a few new pics of the drive train all on. all im waiting for now is a rotor and the front brake. the front is also a hope mono trial, braided hose, red reservoir cap, red lever, black caliper pot and mono trial 160 rotor. hope people like so far.

yeah i was going to go for white bars but the flats were cheap and i blew my budget on the wheels lol. i got it back from the bike shop today and they managed to tap out a new thread and install the BB for me, i was going to chase up the bike shop that f*cked it up but im going away for 3 months so wont have the time. anyway the BB is in, cranks on, chain on, pedals on. the rear brake has been adjusted but still feels pretty shite, the lever comes in a long way before it has complete hold on the rotor, i want it to bite as soon as i pull the lever but hey-ho, it will have to be looked at when i return. i've put the right hand grip on and have bought a matching front hope trial for cheap. may be able to get pictures up tomorrow, cheers for reading people. all 2000 of you.

my freewheel and rear sprocket aren't exactly lined up, at a guess id say the difference between them is about 1 cm. is this an issue?

to be honest mate im not feeling any of the stickers. the frames a weird shape so i couldn't stick them in very good places. the white trialtech and grey tartybike ones are the worst placed. i think ill end up taking them off pretty soon anyway. the only sticker i like is the inspired one on the headtube.

Does Anyone Else Get Asked Stupid Questions By Poepl While Riding ?

i made the mistake of telling a female friend of mine that my bike cost 1000, now everytime im with her and she see's someone she knows it results in a "his bike cost £1000 you know!" haha which then results in a "do a trick then" its all gravy though. when people say.. you have no seat i just say it gets in the way, then carry on. -
well i got a frame and forks powdercoated for £45. different colors too.

i get it so much in norwich. most popular one is.. "oh my god you have no seat!" i got some american say.. "is that a race bike?" "do a trick" is a favorite from the kids. best one i've had is a guy looking at my rims... my ground rims... and saying.. "oh my, you've scratched the wheels up pretty bad!" HAHAH! -
get it shot blasted at a powder-coaters, comes out well nice. has a rough silver texture so scratches don't show up. nice and even and easy. another way, strip the paint off with paint stripper, sand the frame down starting at 800 grit and working your way up to 2000 grit, make sure you get in all the nooks and crannies, then get a buffing wheel in a drill (i use a bench mounted buffing wheel) put autosol on the frame and buff the hell out of it. takes a lot of effort this way but the frame will come up like chrome if done right.

yeah i meant element, not hex. i realised but thought id leave it and hope no-one would notice haha. fail.

i screw 4-5 pallets together then practice on that, when it gets easy, add another. im on 5 at the moment and have been there for a while. so im gonna start taps soon too. how do you mean? wouldnt the leaning pallet be in the way? any chance of an example on paint lol?

my tool kinda worked, i had the BB nearly in, but i went to a local bike shop to see if they had the tool... they did.. the guy did it up and absoloutly raped the threads! he's pretty much destroyed the threads and the BB!! i was soooooo angry. ive taken it to a better bike shop and they are gonna tap it out and see whats what. if its wrecked im gonna go back to the 1st place and demand compensation lol.
-
haha yeah for 17 i thought it was abit shite. i need an isis one prob.. ill just have to keep my fingers x'd that this bike shop can sort it out for me.
-
got stripped bb threads in a frame, they are currently being tapped out by local bike shop but that may not work.. sooo.. if the threads are gone is there an alternative to buying a new frame? are there any BB's that would work without threads ie push in bearings etc??
-
i didnt read it haha.
-
i cant, are they meant to come off? ive pulled hell out of it but nothing budged. its a hope mono trial, i didnt bleed it but the guy i bought it off said it may need a bleed, so looks like thats the way forward. cheers mate!

putting together a new bike (mod project) in bike pics section... 1. the rear hope brake lever comes in a long way before the brake is strong, is this just a crap bleed? 2. the chain line is out. (imagine your sitting on the bike) the freewheel is about 1- 1.5cm further out than the sprocket. is that alright or will it cause a problem? theres not really alot i can do about it either. 3. the tool i have for the BB wont go over the green bb spacers and therfore i cant do up the BB. any suggestions?

pretty sure its small, just measure your tube? the only brands of frames that take large ones are stated below.
