yeah, the echo bars match the echo headset kinda, and i have a green onza bashring which matches the bars perfectly, whether i go with the TI halfring or the green bashring i dont know yet.

hmm.. didnt buy the caliper from ebay from hong kong did you? basically you should be able to bolt the caliper on the forks/frame. run the cable from the lever to the caliper, pull the 'turny thing' till the pad is touching the caliper, let it back a little bit and then do up the bolt so the cable is being held in position, then adjust the red know if you want the pads closer. it sounds to me like you've just attatched the cable to the lever, then attatched it to the caliper without pre-tensioning it. if im wrong and you have pre-tentioned it.. its most likely a very shite cable. its hard to say without looking at the brake to be honest. hope this helps though.

yeah i think the color is kawasaki green, its the brightest green the powdercoaters do. I wanted as close to the 2011 inspired as possible. SHOULD be picking up the frame on friday afternoon, so by friday night pics will be on the forum and the bike will be a rolling frame. hopefully BB and cranks should get here tomorrow too, then all I need is a freewheel, chain and brakes. yeah some lime green pedals would be mint, my budget is depleting very fast at the moment though lol. in hindsight i should have got white bars i reckon, but hey-ho. it will still stand out!

I thought I might as well start the project thread, then ill update as parts come in and progress rolls forward.. basically I had a go on a onza t-pro the other week, although its very heavy, with a low BB and the one i was on was as bent as gary glitter, i thought i'd build a mod just for fun, to muck around on for abit, then maybe sell to a mate of mine who wants to get into trials. so i started off scouting the forum for a frame and picked up a '09 neon bow with stripped, helicoiled and then re-stripped hs33 mounts.. after that i bought some forks, Zoo's . then masterfully decided on a colour scheme, on paint. taking a whole 20 mins to design it. then started to buy bits... after dropping the frame and forks off at the powdercoaters, decided to go mental clicking "add to basket" on tartys. ive got some other parts on the way and some more to buy, then will update further.... UPDATE #1 got the BB and cranks through, i bought some echo cnc cranks for 25, but had an appiffany! - dont know how to spell that. i put the echo cranks on my echo 24 and will put the short 160mm try all cranks on the mod. also swapped bash rings. now on the echo for the mod rear brake came with this.. i changed to this.. UPDATE #2 got the frame and forks back.. only problem i have now is that my BB tool wont go on the bb far enough to do up the BB.. anyont got any ideas? SORTED NOW! UPDATE #3 the BB got tapped out and put in by a bike shop so i could stick all the drivetrain together.. here's some pics of it out in the sun, in its greeny glory. watch this space...

yeah id say stick with v's. ive had avid hydraulics before and they are just annoying! id reccommend avid sd7 v's, very good and strong, you could then get some high end v pads like heatsinks or tnn lgm's with v backings and grind rim. pure win

yeah the only reason i was gonna have the 203 up front is because i already have the rotor and is mount off an old downhill bike. i bought some bb7's but the sale fell through, so at the moment all i have is a bb5 caliper. i think ill get 2 180 rotors w mounts, a bb7 caliper for the back, 2 levers and cables.

heya, i bought a mod frame to start aproject etc, the frame had stripped, helicoiled then re-stripped 4 bolt mounts, so i have to run dual disc, i wanted to go for a hope rear disc but cant really afford it, so i have bought a bb7 caliper for cheap. the bike will be mainly for messing around on around town, probably even used by my mate who wants to get into trials, so no BIG stuff. ill be running 160 rear and hopefully 203 front. anyone use this setup? are they any good?

hell yeah! nice one.

looks to me like you land the back wheel first then front, then just fall back. at 3:06 i think it is, you land both wheels at the same time, as soon as you touch down, throw yourself forward and full on front brake, when rear is up, brake off and push bike forward. hope this helps.

Which Disc Brake Rotor Gives The Best Performance
Carlperkins replied to Crazy Drummer's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
id just whack on a 203mm. you can tell the difference to a 160 easy. -
mines 10kgs, i think its pretty light. most are between 10 and 12 i think.

right, ive laced wheels before in 3x pattern, simple stuff, and i can true them.. HOWEVER.. i bought new mod rims and spokes etc. the hubs i have, have different flange sizes due to disc mounts etc. front wheel: - http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/20_inch_rims/trialtech_sport_circle_hole_front_20_inch/c26p10478.html http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/front_disc_hubs/onza_sealed_disc_front/c20p10317.html rear wheel: - http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/19_inch_rims/trialtech_sport_rear_19/c517p10479.html http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/116mm_fixed_hubs/onza_sealed_disc_rear/c62p10814.html and i have 4 packs of spokes, 173mm 175mm 178mm 180mm so.. which packs of spokes go with which rim, and on what size of the rim do they go? anyone have a clue? lol.

ok just wondering, i havent water bled it anyway, too much hassle.
-
yeah i think you can. im sure i rented an orange patriot in wales a few years back. i was either at coed y brenin or llandaggler.
-
yeah i prefer disc on the front too. im going dual disc on my new mod though. the juicy 3 is a good brake, i used to run one, but the bleed procedure etc is so annoying. im thinking about dual bb7's.
-
outside it is . cheers guys. yeah i should have asked first really. i watched the hubs product guide and some are 110mm spacing already like the trialtech hubs and a few others, but the one i bought doesnt state whether its 110mm or 116mm spaced. if its 11 its gravy, if its 116 ill run them outside. sorted.

i just go for the normal clarks cables. about 6 quid. work great.

alright this may seem a tard question... i got a 09 neon bow frame which is compatible with snail cams eg. has the 2 bolt holes... figured that one out myself ive got an onza sealed disc rear hub on the way.. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/116mm_fixed_hubs/onza_sealed_disc_rear/c62p10814.html and ive got some monty snail cams on the way.. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/snail_cams/monty_snail_cam_tensioners/c114p2092.html how do i know if they'll fit? what im thinking is that the hub will be made to fit between the rear dropouts perfectly as it is, and to add the snail cams i will need to cut the thickness of the snail cams off the inside spacer part of the hub? so effectively ill be reducing the width of the hub from 116mm to 110mm to add 2x 3mm snail cams. am i in the right ballpark?

does water void the warranty? surely you could just re-bled with oil before sending back? lucky, i almost did a waterbleed too.
