Teenage Angst Communal Agony Aunt Thread
MonsieurMonkey replied to Has anyone seen my shoe?'s topic in Chit Chat
You are only 16, sometimes you do just grow apart, sometimes you do get bored of people, sometimes you aren't right for each other. You need to try to not text as much, if she texts you, wait 30 minutes, then text her back, drag the conversation out. Try to go a little more into depth, discuss things. I'm not really sure what else to say, it's hard if you don't see each other much, but if you're seeing each other 3-4 days a week that is plenty to begin with, me and my girlfriend are both students and we could easily see each other every day, but we want time apart. That's the thing, as you get older you realise that to make a relationship work you need your own space, it needs to be a bit of a treat seeing who your with instead of it becoming the norm. Now I'm gonna give you the lame "I'm older than you so consider listening to me shit." Sometimes it just won't work, you'll find someone else, it f**king sucks, and it will suck for a few months, it'll probably suck really hard, but getting over that first relationship is a really good thing to learn. Not having stuff to talk about is normal, and you do go through highs and lows, but you both need to put effort in. Maybe try doing something special, see if she reacts well and things pick up, it's not even expensive, I bought 100 tea lights for like £3 from Tesco (2 packs of 50 for £1.50) and just covered my room in them for when my girlfriend came, super cheap, but super effective. Tell her where you stand and what you want, seems like you might have acquired yourself a real bunny boiler there though lol. 2 or 3 weeks, damn, that's really bad. You'll go on facebook and her profile picture will be a photoshopped picture of you and her together. -

You're texting too much, sometimes I'll text my girlfriend like 10 or so times in a day, then ring her at night and that'll be it. If you don't have conversation then you don't, talk about your day or whatever, see where it goes, me and my girlfriend have different interests, sometimes I'll talk to her about trials of physics or whatever. We both do Psychology courses and are very similar people, but we don't really have any real common interests. I dunno, not sure what to say because I'm not sure how old you are and I don't want to come across as really patronising. Either end it or tell her that you don't want anything more than casual. If you just want casual what do you have to lose? Better to have no sex than gain a bunny boiling nutter. -
Dunno if this is top secret, but how long are we talking? From what you said I'm hoping 15-20, maybe 25+ minutes?
-
Oooooo 12 minutes, must be nearly finished. /begin the fwap.

I think you should take Matthew's advice, I dunno if you just need more than one person to tell you, but you should just wait. If you're riding a Mad I'm assuming you've not been riding a great deal of time, and perfecting your technique will reap far more benefits than saving even a kilo. If you were given a carbon Monty M5 or whatever it is, the difference you notice would be less than what a few weeks / month of hard training would be.

Most of the people that I know who are, or who more realistically, think they are, are c**ts. It's not something I'd want to aspire to either. -
I love the graphics on that frame near the headtube. Not too keen on skulls, they normally just look ridiculous, but that looks good.

So I assume this runs off advertising? Like I had a quick glance at the screenshot and it's all actual company names/logos. So are they sponsoring this to some extent or what? I'm just interested more than anything. If it's top secret just say

Pretty much the same thing as Habbo Hotel? Too slow.
-
Lol.

And with another bike strapped to your back.

This just reminded me of an old PhotoShop that Ali did of Hawyes and Ashton. Dunno who will remember it but lol.

A Easy Question For My Coursework
MonsieurMonkey replied to its_matt's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
That's all you had to do for a piece of coursework? God, makes my dissertation seem so much worse now lol. -
Not read all of this back and forth, but I had a similar argument with a friend. Joe your idea is very Eutopian and it's better than any other as far as I'm concerned. (Although completely unachievable) If every big company gave all of their profit, to developing 3rd world countries over the next 10 years, with a focus on education and developing renewable energy sources from a blank canvas where there was no infrastructure already in place. Their returns would be phenomenal the 10 years after, not only would they own a lot of valuable patents probably, they would double their possible target audience. Vodafone currently owe our governemnt around £6,000,000,000 (It might be another 3 zeros, it's a billion but I'm just not sure if it's an American billion or English), think how many wells that could build in Africa. By the way, it was 7 billion, but they said they couldn't afford that, so gave us 1 and we wrote off the rest.
-
I think we are missing the point of how you express yourself through trials. Our bike is the paint brush and the terrain the canvas. TGS is hard to see as an expression because it's so static, it's more like training. Whereas competition, streety trials and most certainly natural, is clearly a way of expressing yourself. If you could pick a single line through an area, it probably wouldn't be exactly the same as someone else's line, and if it was, what's the chances you'll move through that line in the same way?

So right now, between a car and a horse, for both cost and viability. What would you rather do 30 miles to and from work in?

New Toxsin/peter Bäckgren Video From England...
MonsieurMonkey replied to planetary1's topic in Videos
It's 5 years old, I don't even know if Toxsin still exist anymore? -
I don't quite understand this? If what you're saying is, the energy expended to extract it will outweigh the possible energy gains from it's use, then that's purely a financial concern. If someone's willing to pay to have it extracted, then it doesn't matter how much energy is spent. Oil will become, like JD said, a symbol of wealth. When the rest of us drive eco cars, those with money may still be able to have a petrol driven car for the weekends. Same way horses used to be the vehicle of choice, now they're a play thing for those with money.

If you don't mind buying a second hand bike, keep your eye out on eBay and in the For Sale section here, you should be able to get a second hand Zoot for £300-350.

Aint I A Dick, The Plague Blueray Now For Download
MonsieurMonkey replied to TRA's topic in Website Updates
It is usual for stores to do, but normally if it happens within 30 days, you get the difference back. Just because it looks good for that company. Also, why is postage so much more for the DVD than the Blu-Ray? -
Trials Legends T-Shirt Concept In Partnership With Tartybikes
MonsieurMonkey replied to StuntMan_Stan's topic in Trials Chat
Really? -
This has been hilarious up to now, and seeing as it seems to be more the "Toilet Disaster Thread", I thought I'd continue on that line. Same as most, blocked the toilet, shitting my self because the water was coming up high then it stopped, like some sort of shit lagoon. It didn't even start to slightly trickle away. Bog brush and plunger were of no help. So I brought in the big guns, a metal coat hanger. It cut through that shit (No pun intended) like a lightsaber.

Awesome video, some beautiful places as well.

Trials Legends T-Shirt Concept In Partnership With Tartybikes
MonsieurMonkey replied to StuntMan_Stan's topic in Trials Chat
Wild West Trials, Gothic Legends. I've looked at it a few more times and that's all I see. The fonts just do not work together. I don't like the idea, but I am rarely a fan of huge text across the front of a t-shirt.
