    Jobs!

Can you move up / get a promotion in your current job? Ever considered going to Uni?
  3. Would it be terrible to just say yes? No-one's allowed to mention the irony of course.

    Films!?

I watched Spun today, it's kinda like Fear and Loathing but all about crystal meth, definitely a watch if you're into Blow, Trainspotting, Fear and Loathing etc. Captures it well.
  5. If it's that saddle, I'd more than happily pay the £300.
  6. My hand span is 23cm, I'm 6'2 and I think my hands are pretty disproportionate to my body. You must have hands like those giant foam ones
  7. It's just the way I do it, like I said a lot of it is probably due to familiarity. But it definitely helps knowing that I can use the position of one finger to help direct the other. The sticks being closer definitely helps with it to. That was my point, we aren't a big player, so people in this country wouldn't be used to consoles like they are elsewhere. I bet a lot of PS console sales are in the East, it's been a part of their mainstream culture for a lot longer. To be fair, I've been playing a lot of XBox while I've been at home over the summer, and I've got big hands, neither controller feels uncomfortable, I don't struggle with either. It hardly makes any odds, the only time I notice it is with the positioning of the left stick. Everything else doesn't really make any difference.
  8. I did say that it was probably due to what I was more used to. But two parallel sticks would definitely allow you to co-ordinate movement, as one stick gives you a reference to the other stick. I didn't do research I just made assumptions. But when I got my PS2 and XBox, both on release, no-one else had them and even those who did they weren't gamers like me. I'd like to see UK sales as opposed to Worldwide ones to be honest, because some countries have completely different cultures to ours. And seeing as this is a majority UK forum it would be more representative of what we choose. Because from what I could from a quick search, they are massively different ratio wise.
  9. He's committed multiple thefts in the eyes of the law.... Why should it change? He hasn't given it back out of the goodness of his heart, remorse or otherwise. It was only community pressure that has made him give one of the things he's stolen back. Criminals are labelled for life.
  10. That was awesome, the sidehop didn't even look real.
  11. Are you the guy that was playing that AC-10 (I think) flight simulator? I've always wanted to get into those, but they've always looked a bit too hardcore. I can beat any nerd on here with my /played on WoW, so don't feel too ashamed
  12. He's completely disappeared, and if he does come back I'd be very surprised if he wasn't branded a scammer. People have said he's a fanny as well.
  13. I didn't mean you'd be pushing them in the same way, I meant more for directional awareness, if I was strafing perfectly right using the left stick, and wanted to turn left, I could push my thumbs together, if I wanted to look a bit up as well, I'd know to push my right thumb just above my left thumb. It probably is just me being more used to the PS3 controllers, but I can definitely do better on a shooter on a PS3 than I can on an XBox for that reason. I always run like a spaz on most games because of where the left stick in on the XBox. A lot of people want XBox controllers over PS3 ones because the 360 was the first console that went big, prior to that consoles were still seen as pretty nerdy, the 360 came out and wasn't that expensive and it was during the gaming explosion, the PS3 had a job to catch up considering it's ridiculous price tag and lack of games compared to the 360 on release. So more people have used the controllers for longer. PS controllers have nostalgia with me, so I'll always prefer them, Tomb Raider 2 and Resident Evil, Silent Hill, they just don't make games like that anymore. The controller looks good, but you'd have to sit at a desk or something, you need a hard surface under a mouse pad. I feel consoles are a social and fun way to play games, PCs are for the hardcore no lifers. Like me
  14. So now that we know he's robbed more than a maggy. And he is such a good person he gave the maggy back, but didn't say anything about robbing other shit, are we still all so sure he's a good dude?
  15. Original Poster, the first dude to post.
  16. Are you talking about the OP? If so that's f**king unreal....
  17. Turbo Shandy = Half a pint of Carlsberg + half a pint of smirnoff ice + 2-6 shots of vodka. 2 of those and you'll be destroyed. You can buy filthy cheap vodka to put in it as well because you're not tasting it. I think they taste disgusting, but they definitely did the job. I think at one point they were working out at about £2.50 each to make at home.
  18. I think the PS3 vs XBox thing for me is won by the fact the sticks on the PS3 controller are at the same level, which means you can co-ordinate movement much easier. I find XBox controllers to be a bit of a mind f**k at times.
  19. See how it plays out maybe? But like you said, long distance is hard, not just that, you might end up being paranoid, I know I would.
  20. Do you read what you post? If you didn't lose any respect for someone who stole something, then you shouldn't say it. Because people will lose respect for you for being a fanny.
  21. How hard was it to take it apart? I don't wanna do it then get completely lost and just have to f**k it off. I thought I might have to buy a new one because it's making so much noise, but if cleaning it out could fix the problem I might just do it.
  22. The controller argument is moot, you're going to like the controller you use the most. I loved the original XBox controller, that got changed after a few months because it was too big. I have no problem with the PS3 controllers because I use my index fingers on L1/R1 and my middle fingers on L2/R2. And nothing beats a mouse and keyboard.
  23. Enjoy your first year, don't worry too much about a budget, get an overdraft, waste money, spend savings. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity to do nothing and get away with it. My first year was unlike most people's first years at Uni, I made possibly the best friend I could have, and had the best time ever with one person. A 10x6 room plus a lot of green, a PS3, a huge film library = f**king winning.
