  1. I got my pretty shit first bike for £250 so if this has good parts and is in good condition then go for it
  2. i read in Mountain Biking UK magazine this month a review on alot of different disc brakes. it showed how heavy they are and the power(nm) that they gave out and to my surprise, even though the Zee's are around £100 cheaper than the saints, they give out 1nm of power more than the saints, so effectively they are the same brakes, just one is alot cheaper
  3. ahhhh good is there not any trains that go between aber and any of the other places?
  4. awhh sweet, ill deffo give you a shout if i end up going there what would my travel options be if i were to be going to places like new Quay, Towyn and Carmarthen as i wont have a car?
  5. Hi guys, does anyone live in or around Aberystwyth in wales? may be off to uni there in September and wanted to know if there was anyone near there that rode? Thanks, Matt
  6. I have some bad news for you all, the met office's long term weather forecast says it will rain all the way up until around May :/
  7. f**k me first world problems right here dan
  8. finally feel like i'm starting to improve again on my new frame
  9. id have to say Magura HS33 racelines 2004 with a racingline piston are the best brakes ive ever had, they are so solid and just feel amazing!
  10. sweet, just ordered it from cex, cant wait to play it, forza 4 was awesome so I guess this should be too
  11. i guess this is for xbox? when did this come out? thinking of getting it
  12. ive always used the ones from tarty and they work perfectly, they same as the brass ones but made out of a different metal i guess and the old brass ones fitted on one way where as the ones from tarty can be fitted both ways round. either way both will be fine
  13. it sounds like a good idea but id be most worried about staying in strangers houses. you have no idea who they are and for all you know they could be murderers so its pretty risky. I wouldn't rule the bike out either, last year I went to these adventure talks with my dad and one of them was a guy who had cycled around the world. took him just over 2 years so you would have to plan to be away for a long time. money wise I think realistically you would need a fair bit to be able to get through the trip :/ for food you could buy loads of army ration packs off the internet to get you by for the first few months. panniers will be a good investment too, maybe even a set for the front wheel too? would definitely allow you to carry more stuff. I think it's definitely doable but you will need abit of money aswell
  14. Hi guys here is my Echo Lite 2013 build, hope you like it
  15. why cant i put a picture in a thread i wont to make?

    1. Blake

      Blake

      "wont" :P

don't upload the picture, I will show you the best way to do it

  16. yeah get Euans old bike and buy a zoot frame and swap all the parts over as for the brakes and hubs they generaly won't break but if the has break then they can be sent back to hope asbthey are covered under the life time warranty and the brakes i doubt will break
  17. this^ Id say go for it but don't use the frame for too long the reason it cracked was because the welds were crap and the support bar between the seatstay and chain stay on the disc side wasn't originally there so the force if the disc caused it to crack and euan welded the bar on. Also euan isn'ta very smooth rider all the time :L
  18. don't buy Euan's old bike, frame cracked a few time while he had it and its likely to crack again and need another reweld. Id say just gp for a zoo prim frame straight away unless you just use all the parts from the bike and done use his frame at all
  19. Most rear wheels weigh around 1kg so it doesn't really matter which type of rim you have. Undrilled rims will be better for more streety moves like spins and stuff as they are stiffer where as drilled rims will be better for more TGS stuff as they are lighter. It just depends on what style you are going to be doing more of. If you think you will be doing more streety stuff then get undrilled rims, if you think you will be doing more TGS stuff then go for drilled rims.
  20. id go rear free hub if i were you, much less resistance compared to a FFW. you can get second hand hopes for under £100
  21. Started riding.home from college and after 5 minutes i got a puncture, so instead of a 15 minute ride home it was an hour walk
  22. also went to the shop the other day and they were all out of pork pies! :L
  23. Just because that's the way you deal with things doesnt mean its okay to do it. I know your not always happy, neither am I, i havent been happy for ages but I know constant piss taking isnt the right way to get through it.
