Marino Hulk (Formerly Known As My Old One Aka Green Goblin))
FamilyBiker replied to FamilyBiker's topic in Bike Pictures
bb is around +15,headtube at 100 mm,forks 400mm. for an inspired skye(similar geo except ht and cs)with 120 ht,410(?)forks and so on i´m loosing around 30mm in height. the syntace bars are at 46mm rise WITH CLAMPS,and highrisers a´la inspired 80mm,another 30mm lost... skye in stock config has 20mm stackers... just wanted to compensate that a bit. maybe will go for this setup: tryall 105x35°,30mm spacers, adaptor to vro(selfmade),like in the last pic but -20 spacers stemchart says its like 90x10,20mm spacers, highrisers. thoughts over thoughts... -

Marino Bike 2013 Team Rider Found & frame order discussion thread
FamilyBiker replied to LEON's topic in Trials Chat
also i arent a team rider or something, just a personal friend of marino who used this fact as an opportunity to keep you all informed here, and i got beaten for it. it always was a big problem for marino to keep his deadlines,he cant raise his prices in an ammount to make it possible to give someone a job, noone would order them except chilenean or peruvian riders(low to no shipping costs),he wants!!!to weld every frame by himself to ensure the quality, that makes things slow. its not okay to promise things that you cant keep, totally right. but i for myself think its better to have a custom marino frame after a half year for the price of a single downtube here in germany, than getting laughed at at a german framebuilders shop for asking to get a frame for that really really cheap ammount. :wink2: ask triton or rcp or every other builder how long it takes to get a frame, half a year is pretty normal. i think marinos fault is his optimism of how many work he can do at one time, little unrealistic to be honest. its no apology, its just my opinion -

FamilyBiker replied to Azarathal's topic in Trials Chat
if your headsets coming loose theres definitely something not tightened properly i.e. stem bolts -
still searching for the impossible option of having one bike for everything, but since i´ve got my 24" i´m feeling pretty close to it. that one point i love marino frames for (not commercially pointed):if you got a clue what does what on geo you can get close to perfect, regarding your own style. hoping that my new frame is what i made my mind for the past year,on the paper sketch its another thing as in real, though. stop thinking in categories,be yourselves and ride free

Marino Bike 2013 Team Rider Found & frame order discussion thread
FamilyBiker replied to LEON's topic in Trials Chat
.....yo give is what yo get .months of waiting for years of riding or deng and a half year of riding.but the money/performance ratio is vice versa. what do you want to get?i´m rather waiting then killing 3 frames during that time... :wink2: -
Gilles Coustellier: Ce n'est pas un gt ça, on dirait un COUSTELLIER!! Ça manque d'imagination! Kenny Belaey: Gilles Coustellier...GT invented triple triangle before you were born so please shut up...

Marino Bike 2013 Team Rider Found & frame order discussion thread
FamilyBiker replied to LEON's topic in Trials Chat
i was asking abou my own frame and he said he has to give the frames to the heat treating company one after another becaus they are pretty saturated with orders. he´ll probably wait to get all frames finished togrther due to lower shipping cost if he sends them all in one container going to uk... -

gear ratio/power and bar/stem setup play a role as effective toptube/reach does,too :wink2:
-
no hammer,no screwdriver,no knife,just a chainwhip and a long lever
-
it was the wrong comparison btw. gear display: 18-15-26":2.58m 18-12-24":2.94m 18-14-24":2.52m 14t is the nearest you compared wheels with different masses and leverages, gear display shows the raw wheel movement factor in meters. clean from % or ratio it would be feeling the same at your 24 if you´d use a 14t with the 170 cranks

i didnt say its going from green to purple or something, its more like a blueish effect mixing in depending on the angle the light is hitting it with. the pics dont tell it really heres a pic i shot in my workshop 2 minutes before the other, the flash got it coming out a bit. -
How Do You Act If People Want You To Leave Cool Spot?
FamilyBiker replied to clerictgm's topic in Trials Chat
damn you took the wor.....lol to topic: if the people that want you to leave have the authority to do so,theres no way to change it.walk-by people cant tell me what to do,guards can. the main problem in this is that our sport is some kind of niche genre, making it hard to nearly impossible to find legal spots, depending on the area. if theres a lobby for something, theres power to change things.soccer players in my hometown:aprox. 200 guys n gals. trials riders in my hometown:me. 200 people uniting to get a stadium, will get it. we just have to deal with the fact that we arent welcome at our street spots sometimes,or have to invest time and money to build our own spots(indoor etc.) -
sooo,i am pretty happy with this, therefore i decided to make a new thread about it. as you can see clearly i rawed and painted my marino street rig. after failing hard with applying a "crystal fx" structure on the whole frame because of the tubes shapes(that liquid was dripping to the floor without noticeable effect, except on the floor itself ) i decided to go over the green base coat with some of the pearl blue i wanted to do the crystal effect with, before applying a 2k laquer. that had it come out as some kind of flipflop effect, wich is cool in its own way. the first pic shows the bike nearly in another colour as the second,in real live it changes colour as you walk around the bike. comments welcome!

i managed to kick every singles centerlock rotor´s rivets loose,built a taq-33 cl/6bolt adaptor in---win!
-
i have this problem too.seeing the pros turn by obviously kicking the drivetrain instead of hopping doesnt make it easier to understand at all... hows that done then?
