  1. isnt going for say, like 74° with a back end around say like 361 leading to forks with like 40mm rake if your tt is in a "normal" street range? the 5 mm more on my 400x44 forks wouldnt be making much of a chopper out of my cuy frame with 73° then...would be plus 12 wb and 12mm less trail factor. thats the big thing of custom stuff,if you know what you want, you´ll get what you like.
  2. i was missing the hope pro2 sound...haha cool
  3. i completely understand how rake affects the riding, but more rake is my thing obviously.had some zoot forks(405x45) before the tuf guys(400x30) i now have, the zoot ones felt nicer, only reason i changed forks was a crack near the left canti boss. at the end of the day its all personal preferrence.with the new forks i´ll go for reversed maggie mounts, thats something personal, too,i think. but thanks for your tips guys. the yellow frame btw has a 72°ha with 402x44 fork,1045 wb,+25bb.
  4. btw, sorry for hijacking your thread, leon.wasnt my intention
  5. tell me what you mean ali... everyones different,i wanna go the way the old fourplays were(plus 15 bb more),if i switch forks to my 30mm rake ones,i´d go streetie(1020 wb),but my 990/+25/365 frame i got now is way too untrialsy for me. the bar angle and components are not taken from real life though... heard of someone whos going for 980 wb(we all know him, from here at least) thats strange for me,without offence :wink2:
  6. i couldnt stand all this new stuff aswell and sent my new order to my friend mr.alegre this minute.couldnt wait for that since i got my first one with a ha of 73° 44 is spot on(edit:for me,made me think it over about months),going trialsier this time...
  7. they spare a lot of$$$ for pallets with THAT spot... :wink2:
  8. yeah, me,too. i amm gonna get the 400 x 44 straight blade ones on the yellow bike.youre right, the bottom ones are polo forks, the others street(ns geo)
  9. maybe the rebound springs are broken?was the case on my 2004 ones
  10. theyre out now!didnt ask for the weight though.will get some proto ones soon and share my experiences. there will be other dropouts like on the stratix frames forks few posts above(yellow one)
  11. this normally happens only when you set the second leading spokes one hole in the wrong direction either at the rim or at the hub flange. i mean the spokes the others will cross over,on one side theyre wrong obviously
  12. yeah, cologne rulez(riding-wise)! their only biiiiig problem is that their beer has 200ml...
  13. w? t? f? dunno what kinda beef is going on with you guys but if he´s going to lace 3x left 2x right i am sure reece is gonna be happy...
  14. e.r.d. of the rim and hole diameter of flanges, flange distance? edit:left 3,right 2 crossings. youre welcome :wink2:
  15. i think its 4140 (42CrMo4)wich has a bit more carbon in it.
  16. from 1650(dont do it!!!)up to 3000 grams,depending on what you´d want it to be.24 st frame 2200g aprox
  17. geo is 1075/380/+25.frames from romania i think,a 2009.had 3 owners and was built up the first time today... notice the little grey tf sticker at the tt/dt area edit:its from hungary
  18. Built this bike for my trainee, who is just starting trials, wich fact made us put it together mainly from random parts from my shed. fortunately it turned out really nice though... spec isnt important with this, its a bike and it rides nice
  19. did you need more than one frame for the time filming this?sick!
  20. thats something i know about,i helped marino to get his tube bender fixed(per email haha). after broken tubes of all kinds and many adjustments we came to the conclusion that he HAD to heat treat the tubes before bending, then re-harden them afterwards,so yeah, theyre heat treated 4140 crmo.the weight of the proto forks was around 1112g.but that was straight gauge 1.8 mm tubing.atm hes getting his bender a new disc,in the future there will be fork legs with gauges down to 1.1mm,aprox.fork weight 980g.hot! edit:just to not get beaten, thats calculated from butted tubing of 1.6 down to 1.1 mm,steerer 240mm,a2c 400
  21. youre right ali, sorry.have checked my old drawings and the idea was an adjustable pm +25 for avid 185 disc and a position between for +20 standard disc.forget what i said regarding that. for the sliding mounts,i had them because it was my first custom frame and i was afraid of something wich doesnt fit ie chainwheel/sprocket combo... if you wanna play around with cs lenghts and gear ratio its not a bad thing
  22. the slots on pm calipers arent radial(back or forwards) to the wheel, theyre axial (from left to right).how would you compensate wheel movement to the back? as its marino,he´ll be able to build you a plate with say 6 threaded holes to mount it(obviously with pm spacing)to have 3 positions.i talked about something like that to marino once because my is adapters always cracked from the forces when tapping.but then we didnt build it.let me search my drawing...
