  1. no,no i think its good to get input, thanks really. but my thoughts are, this is just a hobby project by now, even IF their performance is suffering from bubbles in the pad body its just not a professionally produced pad,i am doing this in my very own kitchen and there are like 30 sets of pads by now,c'mon,if one set is dead, here comes the next one. if a set only lasts a month i have pads for years, here in my kitchen, for 4 euros a set. its just that i dont think theyre thaaaat bad, have ridden mine 3x2hours now and no signs of wear.riding manuals and spins where you have to drag the brakes a fair bit more than in pure trials, where its more on/off. try to slow down a manual to a backwheel stance, thats resulting in more wear than say,gap-close brake mid air-land... i like them big grin everytime i pull the rear brake. funny thing happened today for example:a few days ago i put some on the front wheel of my commuter, just for fun mainly and to check smooth rim performance. today i had to do a full-on stop because a car driver decided to enter the street with his audi backwards without looking first. what should i say?new fork installed now,the old one bent from the braking force i went a bit offtopic here sorry.do the oven trick mate
  2. for now i am pretty surprised by the performance, but thanks for the input. this was the thing i was working on anyways, that effing bubbles cant do something about the smell, its just those deadly chemicals and radioactive isotopes i am using. remember to not trying to eat them,it will grow you some spare extremities hahaha
  3. mate, its rubber compound, everything you'd add or spare would massively change the physical properties of the pads. how often do you put your nose near your brakes? yeah, the bubbles,i dont think they decrease the overall performance but theyre annoying will get a pressure chamber sorted if my project takes off, which isnt in any way certain yet
  4. not really interested in how gay that sounds for people man,its just a brand name and stands for "trials rimbrake pad". kot (which basically means excrements in german ) or jaf werent any better
  5. if you want to remove pads in the future, just remove the o-ring,then put them in an oven thats adjusted to 150 degrees and just starting to heat up. just when the little light goes off a.nd the 150° have been reached, turn the oven off and let it cool down a bit. after that you can take the pads out of the backings by hand with no effort ye olde heatsink trick, works every time edit:i'dprefer the pads to be called "trimps"
  6. dont forget to give me feedback for them,be it good or not so good
  7. yeah man,absolutely sick style!
  8. oh oh oh...moving on,nothing to see here lol yeah,i heard of a whole batch of hubs where the bearings werent the best and wore (right term) pretty quick, they all were replaced,as far as i know
  9. he made my mould, that kind of pushes him up on top of the list

    cranks?

grab yourself some holzfeller cranks from ebay. my first set is now on a mates bike,i rode them for 3 years before that. they go over the counter for like 60 euros or something on ebay
  11. theres some borg-style thing going on here, everyones the same guy haha but on topic: i think if you throw yourself into things you arent confident with you are likely getting injured more often. just know what you can do or not and let the progression happen by itself.my 2 cts everytime i injured myself i was doing stuff i didnt feel the need to practise for and thought "go for it" instead of going the path of learning it properly first
  12. you mean characteristics i assume. yes, hold is probably the most important factor for trials.but i for myself like bitey pads as well, that on/off feedback is very important to me too. try the set i sent you, mate,i am pretty sure youĺl like them at least more than the last ones.
  13. that was actually quite boring haha, but thanks
  14. getting more and more anyone on here received theirs yet?
  15. i think heś looking better this way,but thats just my opinion. t'was a joke, just never liked his style,to much showing off,"posing"
  16. magellan tucana my mate robert is riding the exact same one nice vid, tell your mate to keep going, huge moves!
  17. just pm'ed a whole bunch of people back regarding pads, including you, jack. well i am surprised about that demand, kind of getting out of hand for a hobby project hahaha
  18. no,i absolutely never felt the need for beverage stuff on my rims mate if its necessary i use tar,but so far theres no need for it with the new compound. would you guys rather want heat treated, longer lasting pads with less bite or untreated ones with tremendous bite but higher wear? just out of interest, playing with the thought of heat curing for a whole batch...
  19. so far so good 6 sets of them are ready to get tested by someone, the rest is reserved for me,mates and david hoffman/dave kerr.
  20. atm i have 6 sets ready, just for keeping it running i'd give some away for production cost plus a donation. that new stuff is expensive unfortunately,a single set of pads cost me 4euros to make, because i only ordered a "trial version" of their stuff, need rubbergloves and plastic cups and stirring poles.and at least 2 hours of time before demoulding. but totally worth the effort dont tell my wife that i just spent a good hundred euros on pad compound haha nah, joking, she knows and called me crazy
  21. no,really. when youre slow and just doing bwh and stuff its that scratchy sound we all know. if youre rolling a manual and stopping it to stay on the rear wheel its making that "screamig sound" theres no better description i could've been thinking of haha edit: also notice the overwhelming joy that i expressed at the end of the vid lol
  22. first proper ride on the new compound today.f*ck me,thats a pad! (uploading at the time of posting) i can honestly say thats the BEST pad i've ever ridden, not making commercials here or something, its just true.even my mates were impressed no end durig that ride. bite is incredible, hold is great, sound is sick, like a little girl being driven over by a car i am there, yes. just need to sort the amount of pads i can make now,and get a pressure chamber,as i mentioned this stuff is thick like honey and its a pita to get the bubbles out.
  23. there is no better colour than green, sorry. if you dont mind the first test ones being fugly i terms of surface finish, have a set mate. edit:one set can be made in the "good mould" per batch, the other 4 sets can only be made with my selfmade mould, hence the quality difference. "good mould" pads look like this: pic doesnt do them any justice, the new fluo green kicks ass big time imo
  24. nope, industrial rubber compound for ball mill liners and stuff this time its like honey, iĺl have to pressure cast it in the future.just moulded 5 sets just to see what the new stuff is like. dammit,48hrs to cure fully
