ok then think i´ll try the funn 700g monster. lets check out how it holds up. up 5° back5° seems to be nice for street with slightly rolled forward bars. did you notice how the posts in the topic changed from stackers to bars?funny
-
so did you mean the funn or the onza ones? funn says theyre 4130(25crmo4)
-
the rise would be perfect for me,because with my stem it would have exactly the same bar position as in the first "lottastackas" case. wich bring us back to topic, how to avoid stacker towers. for the funn bar i thought more about the strenght of it. anyone had these? edit:mark, what about the onza os steel bars?if theyre good i maybe changing to oversize parts
-
sorry for double posting, but: found that funn kilo bar at crc. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=22537 what do you think about it? that"step" is scaring me,bus the weight sounds like i could put some faith in it

i know it sounds dumb, but in my experience the 25.4/22.2 shims seem to compensate some of the stress at the bar clamp area.just a thought,i have no evidence for that. but have seen the same bars snapping in a bmx stem (22.2),as holding up well in a 25.4 mtb stem, with the same guy riding them the same way. maybe a "monday"-set of bars, but who knows. when it comes to handlebars, tensile strenght of high grade aluminium is lower than of steel in most cases,so is elastic module, too, wich is the point. fact. sorry, dont beat me again

any experiences about the NS District bars? never heard of one snapping but theyre heat treated. seems like they did it like oddysey,hmmm... edit:the old braced bars were often breaking exactly at the brace. (welding stress)

sorry my shitty way do post depends on the fact i am german, and my english isnt so good.had a shitty day, too. i was still talking about the atomlabs, and above is the right answer for those. have seen the tension diagrams and not going to buy them now didnt want to post otn style, lets just go on the nice way
-
please google how heat treating affects the stucture of iron metals at 3. 1...2...3.

i am a bicycle mechanic, and i know wht i am talkingbout.crmo does bend a long time before it will snap.except heat treated shit. weight is the last thing i am thinking about,i´d rather think about staying alive doing my already dangerous sport. i´ll have to sig someones lightweight freakyness post when i hear of him getting smacked because his aluminium bars snap lol. a good bar should have about 550g if its crmo, otherwise it could snap because of the heat treatening it needs to be that light. street trials isnt comp, its more street, and with my 92kgs i need reliable parts just my opinion edit:stackers suck cos theyre ugly...
-
stacker suck.
-
rge seat weights 150g incl.post.any more questions lol?
-
snapped heat treated bars?i agree.but normal crmo ones bend ages before they crack.

i´ve never ridden anything trialsy when it comes to handlebars,my opinion is that steel is reliable. got this 100x25 stem, and a 35mm rise bar made of 4130. the only thing i´d change would be the rise,3" would be good. upsweep changes to "forward sweep" (i´d call it),when the bars are rolled forward,i think the less of it,the better. going for atomlab too. i think mark´s right, bike mechanics are always...(am one,too lol)

sorry but if isis:forget it.get a tool to get the remaining threads out and go for press fit isis.
-
i think bmx handlebars would do the same as some old fourplay bikes look lol
-
i made it out of an old mudguard mount from a cheap bike(supermarket atb). the weird things are the plates of an old bmx style chain tensioner, they stiffen up my rear bolts.
-
this bike is absolutely stylish

ground rim+wet condition=win...

thanks guys it looks shorter than it rides, with that stem it shoots you up an obstacle from standing next to it with the front wheel nearly touching it. i had a kore lite3d stem on it(also oldskool) but it was too low. i wish i coul paint over the graphics, maybe in winter. next project:SRAM dualdrive hub trials conversion
