Okay back on track....how are the pro/team forks holding up? Mine are a year and a half now, is it time to a precausion replacemnt or just keep running them?
+1 for Hope pro 2 hub(going on 6th year now, no problem (just a little dig in in the cassettebody from sprockets..))....To me all this bedding in, just indicates that Freewheels are crap out of the box, (and stay that way )....)...
Hi just a general question/inquiry are you guys out there using a brake booster on the inspiresd hex frame? Currently I'm using a magura booster, but still have a lot of flex. Thanks
37 still going strong(my riding mates are both 42...)...bike is fine for now....dont spend a lot on upgrades, save it for a new up to date bike...enjoy...
Im a 190cm(use SI units its 2013 and you are in EU ;-)...)(don't know how many feet that is 6+...) Anyway I'm on a inspired hex(great for messing about)...I used to ride gt 16" frames back in the day, sorta same riding just easier on the inspired (that geo I mean, any other frame of that type should be good.)...oldschool is the only school !!!!...
Hi just found this topic...I just put a Z610Hx chain on my ride, and after 2 rides (not seconds but close ;-)) and its stretch about 5mm (total length of chain). Is this the initial pre stretch ? and it will keep this length from now on ? how long time do you run your chains before replacement ?
if it spins okay when mounted, i dont think its a bearing...if you can tighten it up i dont think the axel is broken... But cover as i mentionen, handles how much tension there is on the freehub bearing (not the main bearings). hence my suggestion.
yes try to check the cover (alu part) the fits over the end of the axels (and rests against the inside of the dropouts). (its a attached to the axel with a o-ring) on my hub the material holding the o-ring had cracked/fallen of and the result was a harder backpedaling hub (lots of chain slack when trying). Good thing is its a cheap part on crc...hope it helps
