yeah i feel really comfortable about all this, my parents and my little brother have all booked a holiday to Sharm El Sheikh and will be leaving on the 5th August, im not terribly happy about them going and my momma is concerned a little as well seeing as its only 7 miles away from their booked hotel. The thing is they dont want to loose out on about 3 and a half grand because of this bomb attack thing and the home office have said its safe to go, unless the home office say no its not safe for them to go there then they wont get a single penny back and would have just wasted a lot of money. I dunno really its a little worrying to say the least im glad im not going though. stu :turned:

my instructor told me a soon as i pass my theory he is booking the test, i passed the theory no problemo last wednesday so he booked the test which is for 22nd september, so be prepared for a 2 month waiting period. Ive only had 5 lessons but he still booked it because of the waiting time and in the 2 month period i can fit in at least another 10 lessons if i need to. Talk to your driving instructor and whatever he decides will probably be the best option. stu :turned:

Why dont they all make them like PA, simply because of the amount of power PA speakers require, they take much more power seeing as it is a Power Amplifier system rather than just frequency being put out a big amount of voltage is also being recieved by the speakers, enough that you can even power some lights off of the input to the speakers. Have you ever noticed the hefty price tag to go with PA equipment, yes you will notice that its much more expensive to buy PA then normal house hi-fi equipment mainly because of the manufacturing process that is involved and protection units like thermistors to stop it overheating, fans to keep the heatsinks cool and surge protection all add to the value. Now i cant see why everbody would want an amp and speakers that cost that much money just for their house but the odd few people wouldnt mind spending that sort of money because they know that it does sound awesome. Like MadManMike said he has sound soundlab speakers ok so soundlab isnt top of the line for performance and quality but they still bloody kick hard and loud, when you get a little more expensive like celestion, peavey, jbl and mach audio equipment the quality along with performance would knock a hi-fi into the ground anyday. The reason you think PA stuff is muffled and poor quality is because you have either never heard a decent system or the person's who you have listened to has poorly set it up and probably not used the graphic equalizer properly, if these arent setup right yeah i agree it would sound poor but the same with any stereo. Dont be judgemental they wouldnt sell if they sounded crap and thats no matter how big a room they are being used in. Just some facts i would like to put across to you. cheers, stu :turned:

sorry about the "confiscating" bit i knew it didnt look right on the screen but i was still a bit wasted and couldnt think of any other way that it should be :D" The thing is that most of the neighbours were there at the party and pretty well hammered as well i think it was just 1 or 2 neighbours that were constantly on the phone to the cops! Even the weather was holding out nicely all night for us as well, it was predicted to absolutely hammer it down with rain in the evening but it was lovely with a big fire going that kept us warm and everything was going exactly as planned but then the cops show up! :turned: Grrrr, i have managed to calm down a little bit now but the party was awesome and its really annoyed me that it had to end so soon and in that sort of way. cheers, stu :D

Well last night at 3pm was the beggining of "bellfest 05" i dunno where it got its name from but it was a friend of my uncles organised it, so naturally i decided to lend my PA to them to play a part in it and join the party. We had live mc's down there and 5 d.j's from the distortion nightclub which was a nice treat, they laid down some lovely track and kept the party really going lovely, by about midnight there were about 200 people at this party, bearing in mind this was someones backgarden, but yeah it was a fair old size. Around 3am a lot of people were wasted and the cops started showing up along with the environmental health officers. By 4am the cops had been away and returned 5 times each time brining more cops than before as the party was growing from random people just following the music and joining in. 4:30 am the cops had been giving a warrant of convesquation and in came about 30 cops, with 3 riot vans blocking the road from each end so nobody could get in or out!!! Well 200 ravers absolutely loving it with the music pumping and the cops coming to say "we have a warrant to take this equipment away" does not go down too well! So we have cops trying to take some of the equipment away and thats when things got a little out of hand, verbal and physical abuse could be heard from a mile away how loud that was getting there. I saw a cop trying to arrest a guy for doing something and his girlfriend just flew along and kicked the cop straight in the head and took him out - now that was funny to see. That was the point when they all started pulling their truncheons out and using them against people. Some people who were there started grabbing bits of the stereo and running inside with them to get them out of the way but somehow they still managed to get one of my amps one of the big speakers and 3 of the little speakers, the couldnt get the 4th little speaker because it was suspended from a tree and the other big speaker, well they tried to get hold of it and cops were starting to get a bit of a beating. Well the cops did retreat in the end but with half of the stereo stuff and had proper screwed the evening up! Ok so the cops were saying that the road was vibrating out the front along with car windmirrors and wipers but this party has gone on for 6 years now and everytime before they have sent just two cops which they then realised wasnt a good idea and left for us to carry on partying. Not this time though it was all so out of hand i dont see why the cops had to jump in like that. Back in the day people were hippies and stuff partying a lot and doing the same as we do these days its just back then nothing got done about it and now as soon as one single neighbour complains that it the cops do everything possible to screw your night up. This party wasnt meant to finish untill 10pm on sunday evening but instead we only made it to 4:30 in the morning before it all ended in chaos! Hopefully i can get it all back :) Just wanted to share my evenings events as im really pissed off about it cheers, stu

i happen to know exactly what quality is but the mission speakers arent that brilliant wharfedale ones will rip the pants off of mission speakers most technics speakers will (if you can still find them) and well bose speakers hit the top of the line really. I just know that them mission speakers dont have a very big voice coil or magnet so they cant bounce very far meaning that as soon as you start pumping bass into them they are just going to fart and distort meaning one unsatisfied forum member. PA speakers arent muffled!!!! dunno where you got that crap from but its a load of bull mate, maybe cheap little ones are but thats the same with hi-fi stuff as well. just trying to give the advice, stu :-

good amp, good cd player but i reckon you can get better speakers for that money stu :-
-
Yeah of course Danny your cd will boot straight away, probably because your computer works properly :- you would not believe how screwed this is!! well i think i may have just about got it, i have re-built the registry and overwritten the old one with the new one, its now allowing me to install windows 98 from scratch so i shall see how this gets on. It seems that there was a big problem in the system.that (for some reason spell check changed (d a t) to (that) ? file which doesnt help! :( cheers, stu :D
-
the 666ers is 100% RIGHT my stereo had loads of joined and spliced cables and it really doesnt help. As soon as i re-wired the whole setup with OFC (oxygen free copper cable) it sounded sooooo much clearer, gets rid of crackling noises hits the notes much clearer and takes less strain off of the amp if you get the correct thickness of wire. stu :-
-
Ok i have a seriously killed laptop on my hands, it got a virus that killed loads of the processes and deleted a fair old chunk of the registry. Its ONLY got a cd-rom drive no floppy. I tried restoring the System.1st file to re-run the installer setup wizard but it needs the file PRECOPY normally found in c:\windows\system\precopy so it wont run even with the windows 98 cd. Is there anyway of using a bootdisk method on it but through command prompt? help would be great! :"> cheers, stu :S

white bread with butter, hot and juicy freshly cooked chicken (easily available from tescos ready cooked and hot) with a little bit of mayo and some of that ready made salad that comes in the bags from tesco with carrots and lettuce etc in it. Healthy and hmmmm oh so tasty, the heat from the chicken melts the butter over the salad and everything and hmmmm godamm i just made myself hungry  stu

currys was just an example of a shop, seeing as nearly everyone can take a trip to a local one and just go for a test and see how they sound, ive tested the speakers and i would strongly say that the sound is brilliant for the price. IF you can find these as cheap as i did they were an absolutely amazing buy, i got them for £110 around christmas time last year from either dixons or hughes i cant quite remember and they sound absolutely awesome mate i have kicked the living hell out of these with a PA amp and they just keep going. I tried looking for them on the net for you but i cant find them anywhere near the same price, maybe they were on a limited offer or something? this quote worried me a little "Jamo X-5 Series Home theatre and hi-fi system Recommended retail price: $2297 (inc. GST)" (Y) you see my ones of these are just sitting in my wardrobe being stored for when i move out because my new PA amp will blow them to bits so i dunno if you make me a good offer i may sell them otherwise im just keeping them for when i move out. stu

tangent amplifier look at the for an amp, stylish in silver rather than the black which i personally prefer, remote control (rarity these days) 80w RMS which isnt a power to be sneezed at and all for a price of £89.99! bargain mate so what do you use it to power why not choose some of these! tangent speakers these things are going to handle exactly what the amp gives them, they look pretty damn stylish not too big but a nice size to show that you have something to care for. The front facing ports work better than the ones that face the wall because you can put them anywhere in your room and as long as they are facing towards you in a respective manner the bass will come straight to you. Dont be fooled by the small driver size they do still kick out, manufacturing of the box helps provide bass and i have actually done a test on these speakers before for a mate they kick out pretty well. and for £89.99 who's complaining. So we have reached a total of £179.98 and got yourself what you want, just a suggestion dude but its good stuff and easily available from your local currys. cheers, stu

that one with the guy on the 26" bike when the camera has caught most of that sunset and hes on the rocks to the right would make an awesome background for your pooter, some very nice shots there mate the weather looked really nice for it too. noice one! stu :P

just to add if you want to convert videos from your computer to go onto your phone search for something called "mpegable" it converts even music videos into 3gp format so you can stick them on your phone, a little awkward to get it converted to the best sound and quality but experiment and you will be flying away stu :P

that sounds horribly stupid to me, if you landed just to a slight angle it would throw you off to one side, ive tried hopping on bouncy castles and trampolines before and you have to land dead straight otherwise you just get thrown off at a stupid ass angle. Good luck mate your gonna need it! stu :P

I reckon its for demos to be honest. Seriously if you think about it who goes to these trials shows the most, GUYS its all guys that go to the trials demos and can sometimes manage to drag their birds or (girl) friends along with them. Girls would find it more interesting to actually turn up to something like NASS with girls riding there rather than just all blokes. And come on lets face it we would all prefer to watch a girls ass bobbing up and down rather than a blokes anyday of the year, (well maybe not some people on here :-" ) i personally think its all about drawing in a bigger crowd to open people's eyes to what is achievable by not just men but females as well, its the way things are going these days none of these sexist laws and equal oppurtunities. I do totally agree that girls wont be as good at trials as the guys will be but if it got to the point where i could meet a bird that was into trials and liked to come out to ride that would be awesome, but there arent that many of them. The sooner the better i say would stop them wasting all their money on thousands of pairs of shoes that they wont ever where because they dont match anything else in their wardrobe! thats my bit said, stu :P

ive never used them at all just was a lucky pick, just remember mate google is your friend if google cant find what your looking for your either not looking for the right thing, it doesnt exist or you dont belong infront of a computer :- stu :P

if you still have the installation for it just run it again, some of the registry keys may of been removed for some unknown reason. Just completely un-install it, re-boot, then re-install it, re-boot again and problem should be sorted. Dont worry about losing contacts or anything that doesnt happen its all fine. stu :shifty:

FADOM, you didnt know this one did you? seeing as i havent seen you in soooo long. But yeah i smoke, it really does suck to hell. My reason was a super harsh break up with a girlfriend, yeah since her i havent managed to find anybody. But a lot of my mates smoke so it was easy to try and release the stress by sticking a fag in you mouth. Really is not a clever idea, its hard to stop once you start but by the end of this week i should have quit fully, i have broke it down to 1 a day so far so (fingers crossed) and lots of will power it should be quit. DONT SMOKE its really stupid and thats coming from a smoker. stu :shifty:

errm not exactly sure on this one but go to my computer, right click your c drive, go to sharing at the top and make sure its not shared. That may help ? Have you tried (without any discs) going into command prompt and type in: format c: it should then come up saying do you want to format c: blah blah, hit the Y button and it should start going, SHOULD said loosely. alternatively go to start>run> type in: "convert c:fs ntfs" a small DOS window should pop up and disappear again, this should convert the drive to ntfs so if its been set up for something different that may well help. hope it helped, stu (Y)

noooope, certainly not they come above my waist standing on the floor and are pretty wide very very loud! that would be the amp im running the speakers off 650watts rms a channel, hmmm beasty seriously i think my neighbours hate me with a passion. :P" MUAHAHAHA, got me brother at home to take a photo of one of my speakers and send it to me, these are the ones im on about. If anyone knows the retail on these i would really like to know because i got the pair of these at a reet bargain at only £50 :rip: dont ask how and no they are definately not stolen. stu :shifty:

you know i thought this would be a nice topic to show off the speakers i have in my room but nowhere at all can i find any Celestion CR500 series speakers :P its a bit wierd i definately know i have them for sure, if anybody can find them for me that would be great cos i would like to know what the retail is on them babies. They have 18" bass drum, 10" mid range and a wide dispersion horn at the top, 500rms and they are PA speakers made in a trapeziodal type shape. Would be nice if i could find them on the net somewhere. stu :shifty:
